Faulty toilet no long term resolution

riaodedra1 (New York City, New York) on Apr 13, 2024

It was okay for a reasonably priced hotel for families within universal. Unfortunately our bathroom had a faulty toilet so it kept blocking every single day even when flushing with water alone. Complained five times during our stay and they just kept sending someone up to "sort it" but it was just a temporary fix. Nothing was offered to compensate for this long term issue as we were there for a week.

Good option for Universal Parks!

Emily L (Chicago, IL) on Mar 30, 2024

We just arrived home! Our stay at Aventura was very good. Geena at the lobby bar was super nice and helpful, we enjoyed hanging out there and chatting with her. She was also super sweet to our kids. The food in the hotel was decent, we ate several times in the food court area. The pizza was really yummy, they had Gelato and there was a grill and asian food. Asian food was really good! Lots of snack options there. We were sad that there weren't any treats like cake pops/cupcakes, but realized we could get that nearby at Sapphire Falls. On the 17th floor there's a bar/restaurant where you can watch the Disney fireworks, which was so exciting for us! The room was clean and kept up well, housekeeping was great. Beds were a little firm, but fine. We could see the volcano at the waterpark from our room which was fun. Pool was okay, we only used it once. We found out that you can use pools at Cabana Bay and Sapphire Falls (both in walking distance) and we used the Sapphire Falls pool more, as they had sand and we liked the environment better. Staff was friendly and helpful throughout the hotel. They had movies in the evening by the food court. Parking was close by. City Walk and Universal theme parks are so close. The bus system was very good, and we could also use the boat that went to Sapphire Falls. Overall, I'd recommend this hotel.

Great hotel in an excellent location - reasonably priced!

smvo178 (New York City, New York) on Mar 25, 2024

This hotel is pretty amazing! The hotel is beautiful and clean, the rooms are comfortable, and the location cannot be beat. You can either take the shuttle bus or the ferry next door at the sister hotel, which is about a 5-10 min. walk. Even my local Orlando friends were amazed at how great the hotel was when they visited. I would definitely stay here again given the location, the cost, and the quality of the hotel.

Great hotel for couples. very convenient, modern and friendly staff.

We stayed here celebrating my wife’s birthday at Universal Studios. Clean rooms, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Quick shuttle options to the parks. There’s a walking pathway to the parks but take my advice….save those steps and take the shuttle. Your feet will thank you at the end of the day. We really enjoyed our stay and the bar/restaurant on the 17th floor was excellent. Highly recommended for couples looking for the park convenience but don’t necessarily need a theme park hotel vibe. We will definitely visit again.

Great Universal hotel

Kristin R (NYC) on Feb 29, 2024

Excellent stay at Aventura Hotel. Rooms: clean room and bathroom. Lots of windows which (mostly) makes up for dim lighting . Clean and minimalist. Mattresses were comfortable. iPad controls the tv, thermostat, and (most) lights. Room includes iron/ironing board, safe, mini fridge (no freezer), and hair dryer. Bathroom provides shampoo, soap, and conditioner - no lotion. Pool was nice, as we were there in Feb. it was not too crowded but by late afternoon it was warm enough to sit by the pool and even the water was a nice temperature. If possible, skip on the food options in the lobby unless in a pinch. They're overpriced, which you should assume but you won't know that for sure as no price tags are displayed. (On principle I don't shop in stores that do this.) Location relative to the parks/City Walk is ideal. You can walk there via the garden path in about 20 minutes, you can take the boat (6 minute ride, and generally a very short wait), or you can take a shuttle but (10-ish minutes but a longer wait and an inconvenient drop-off location unless you are only going to City Walk. I would definitely stay here again, were I to return.
