2 mothers of 2 beautiful daughters and 4 of us enjoyed our stay in the family junior suite. Everyone is very accommodating and thoughtful! We ate at the restaurants here and especially enjoyed Fabio, Damian, Elias, Gustavo and Julio as our servers! Yeah I remembered all of them that’s how wonderful they are. It’s a very convenient location, just left to us is a mall. The Uber and taxis are on demand and so polite! The staff at the hotel are the same way. All around first and great experience! Highly recommend.
A mess

We take 3-4 trips annually, as a family and also just my wife and I. This place has been a disorganized mess since we arrived. We were met by a man who set up a sales presentation for us...everything that he told us about the experience was not factual. Our room is right next to the alley that the staff uses to throw trash away, we can hear it all night. Our toilet squeals like a pig, all night long. After multiple attempts to move rooms we were told that there were no other rooms available at all...if they are supposed to be at 50% capacity, how are there no rooms available? We went to book a table at the hibachi grill and were told that it is closed due to Covid. This morning we double checked at concierge, and it is in fact open. This morning from 9am-12pm there were kids and adults enjoying the hot tub with no worries...my wife and I brought my kids over there, and 10 minutes later we were ushered out of the area because kids aren’t allowed. Bottom line: There are zero rules and a ton of rules all at the same time, and no one seems to know what is going on. Spend a little more and find a property that has it all together.
Best serviced I received.

I love this hotel it’s amazing i love the way everyone is very friendly and organized. Marcela was one of the few that I remembered from the hotel . She is so friendly and very informative . She made me want to stay longer . Daniel and Alexis in the front office helped me from knowing about the hotel to telling me what restaurant is best to eat at . Overall the whole experience was great and the workers there made it even better . Totally recommend this hotel !

First ,Trip Advisor (and property owner?) needs to be more transparent about the facilities. These photos (and many of the reviews) are NOT of Villa del Mar, but of Villa del Palmer (https://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g150793-d154769-Reviews-Villa_Del_Palmar_Beach_Resort_Spa-Puerto_Vallarta.html). The two facilities are co-located and managed through the same front desk. But del Mar is not on the beach nor can you see the beach from any of its rooms. This may be fine for most folks, but I based my stay and reservations on inaccurate information (both on Trip Advisor and the Villa Group website). Villa del Mar is a fine facility - more of a US styled, "lodge" situated behind del Palmer and separated from the main street by the lounge and mini-mart. It has a nice quiet pool and jacuzzi that has little competition which is nice. And the rooms are priced lower than at del Palmer, so that is a bonus and a short walk. All the amenities are available - but the facilities are NOT the same and that should be a lot more clear. It cost me a lot more money to move to the room I had seen (and booked) on their website. Having said that, we had a fantastic time and felt absolutely safe with the Covid-19 precautions and protocols. Puerto Vallarta in general seems to be taking more measures than many US states and communities. Temperatures were taken before entry into most stores and hand sanitizer is everywhere. Mask use is very prevalent. I would give the Villa group 5 stars for service and effort for a 3 star (older) facility. The customer service was great and they go the extra mile to make guests feel welcome. With the hotels operating at 50% capacity, there are no crowds and it was easy to find chairs around the pool or beach throughout the day. I would return to this facility and recommend it to others. But if an ocean view is important to you (as it is to me), you have to be very particular - even with del Palmer. The facility is constructed in such a way that many (most?) of the rooms do not have a direct view of the ocean or the amazing sunsets. Lots of construction along the road for the next few months but plenty of access to shopping and downtown. We used the taxi service on site - it is very affordable and while the busses are cheaper, we didn't want to push it with the pandemic flaring all around. Activities on site occur but are a bit weak - that could be improved, but the couple we did were fun and again, staff is wonderful. The kids had a blast in the pool and beach and a good time was had by all. There is a money exchange on site but the rate is at last a full % below what you can get downtown or on your credit card. Fine for immediate needs. The hotel does not accept cash - credit cards or room charge only. There is a nice food park across the street with a lot of variety.
