Nice place! A few suggestions…

love2vacation38 (Greenwood, Indiana) on Apr 13, 2024

Beautiful resort and grounds. No elevators so don’t get a room in the 4th floor unless you love to climb stairs. They gave us one on 4th to start but we changed immediately. Ended with a 2nd floor room with a bad view but it was ok. Rooms were nice, beds kind of hard. Showers need doors, water floods when using. Our mini fridge didn’t get stocked unless we asked for more. Dinner buffet procession was so cute. Buffet food pretty good but got old by the end of the week. Service at buffet was hit or miss. A la carte restaurants were all very good. Couldn’t get into the steakhouse though. Our favorite was hibachi and Mary Cruz there! Language barrier was an issue. We were surprised at how many employees did not speak English whatsoever. Activities good, especially foam party, white party, silent disco and shows. Beach was very nice and water was calm. We had a great time and would probably return. Would like you to see more participation games, bingo, etc around the pool.

Impressive Not So Impressive

leemole67 (Crawley, United Kingdom) on Apr 12, 2024

You can never have a second first impression! When we arrived, the lobby was packed with people and plenty of white shirts milling around but with no one to actually assist! Saying that our first impression wasn’t one of inspiring beauty or of a fantastic resort that had wonders awaiting is an understatement. I won’t go on about it but you get the gist! The stay was nice, warm and the all inclusive was certainly the main attraction. Saying that, the entertainment team especially Cappuccino kept things lively and fun. DO’S If offered the upgrade at $50 a night, take it! You get a much better room and a butler, a nicer pool and a separate restaurant plus some other bits and bobs. Go to the Japanese, it’s most probably the best food there. Watch the Michael Jackson show on the stage. Take a white outfit for the White Party on the beach. Oh and there’s always a foam party on Sundays if that floats your boat! Have breakfast at the grill, but beware of the man at the egg station!! DON’TS Get conned into attending one of the presentations. They’re all about selling you a deal. We saw them trying to sign a woman of 85 when you could plainly see she wouldn’t have benefitted from it! Get frustrated when the WiFi doesn’t work! It’s flakey at best. You’re there to enjoy your holiday after all and not chat to the fam at home! TAKE WITH YOU A lilo because they’re £35 in resort! Mosquito spray as they don’t spray on resort. A sense of humour if you’re waiting to be brought some water in the buffet ?? FYI will most probably try another resort in Dominican Republic next time!

Worst holiday I've ever been on

Lucy W on Apr 11, 2024

The good...the grounds itself are lovely and are well maintained, the hotel is lucky that it has a lovely beach, otherwise I'd want a full refund. The bad... - Our door sometimes locked, sometimes didn't, we had 3 different men to come to fix the door, and it was still broken after this so we were eventually told to move rooms and were promised an 'upgrade' as we had wasted so much time complaining and waiting around for people to come fix the door as we couldn't leave our room unlocked. This room's fridge was also extremely loud and would wake us up constantly in the night from the thermostat coming on every hour. There were also days where the room would be cleaned, but we were given no water, no drinks in the mini fridge, you would think this wouldn't be an issue but finding bottled water at this resort is like GOLD DUST, we often tried to get extra from the coffee shop and were told 'no' or we were only allowed one bottle to share?? When our room was attempted to be cleaned, often the cleaners would take away all of our towels, and not replace them with fresh ones...so more time spent complaining at concierge - We were given 'the upgrade' by which the room was smaller AND next to the evening entertainment which was extremely loud and not something we wanted to go and experience every night....so we were moved again - The third room, still smaller than the original, but was quieter and closer to the beach so we accepted - we soon realised that nighttime that the A/C did not work - when it was fix, we then couldn't turn the A/C off or turn the temp up so it was then freezing. This room also smelt of sewerage, and the maids knew as they covered up plus and vents with coffee beans to try get rid of the smell (none of our previous rooms were like this). Also, the blue/green 'decorative' pillow on the bed was like it had never been washed, it smelt really damp and made the rest of the bed smell. To top it all off, we hadn't been bitten all holiday, then in this third room, every night our legs were mauled whilst we slept...we spoke to 4 other couples that also said they had bed bugs That's just the rooms....the service, especially in the main buffet....horrendous. We felt like we were purposely being ignored because we were young and English, this was a daily occurrence where we couldn't get a glass of water or beer, so we had to go up to the bar to ask for this ourselves, then got given a rude look as if they were wondering why we had gone there ourselves - because we've been waiting 20 minutes just for water!! If you're brave enough, go see how they wash the plastic cups at the beach bars or snack bars. They simply put all the dirty ones in a sink, rinse them with tap water then reuse them again...very sterile...not On top of this I'm 99% my partner had food poisoning as he was ill for a whole week of the holiday, onsite doctor was no use so we went to see an incredibly helpful pharmacist off-site who provided him with medication After EVERYTHING we had experienced, the hotel attempted to provide a gesture of good will and booked a private dinner on the beach, we got dressed up, best attire on and headed down to the beach. After waiting for 20 minutes for someone to attend to us, we were told our names were not on the list, whenever I spoke (I'm female) the male staff would shout over me and were incredibly sexist, to the point where they made me cry as they clearly did not care about a woman's opinion, and were shouted at to get off the pier and insinuated that we were trying to get a free meal out of them. We headed back over to concierge, for them to do 'research' for half an hour, for them to realise we were telling the truth and apologised and said we can now go for our meal and for our troubles have a free bottles of wine - I had gotten ready for dinner 2 hours ago at this point, had been crying so much my eyes were puffy from how I was treated by the staff and was told staff didn't believe us - they think that a free bottle of wine could solve this and we still wanted our free meal on the beach? Absolutely not. The gesture was insulting. The food was so bad that we ate out last 3 nights, couldn't stand being in the hotel at that point. We discussed all these issues with the onsite TUI rep, who was helpful when actually present, but TUI have since been a disaster since coming back. The hotel did offer a small refund to us, but considering the amount of money we spent traveling from the UK for this holiday....it does not make up for how we were treated during our stay. Overall, the staff seemed fed up, reluctant to help, polite customer service (with the exception of one or two people) was non existent and I don't think I saw one person smile the whole time I was there. Genuinely think we spent more time at the concierge desk complaining about our issues than we did in the sun this holiday. 0/10 would not recommend.

I don't recommend this hotel at all we met a guy who's name Elias with blue shirt selling vacation we had a bad experience with him when we came he told us why do we choose this hotel. That was my worse vacation experience. If anyone go there don't talk to him he's from him we knew how bad is this hotel.
