Stayed a week at the Caribe Hilton Beach tower and for $300 a night I was expecting a classier product :( First the positives; you can not beat a private beach with not many people. The view from the balcony is incredible. Almost all hotel employees are doing their best and are truly grateful that tourists are visiting PR to support the economy there. All employees and most guests wear masks and it is pretty easy to social distance since it seems like the hotel is less than 50% full even on weekends. Now the negatives; Almost every night we were woken up by loud noises in the hallway, next room or combination. At times, it felt like a college dorm. I am talking about 3am or as late as 5:30am people yelling, laughing, partying like it is the '80s. A close second is the mediocrity of the food options at the hotel. 4 restaurants are open; Morton's, Rustica, Lolas, Mojitos and Beach food. All food options are way overpriced and not very good. Oh by the way, 16oz water bottle is $4 at Starbucks. All and all, it was a nice break and we slept at the beach chairs at day time :( Rooms are big but outdated and not kept in good shape in terms of maintenance. Make sure to schedule room cleaning 24 hours in advance, not on the day of. Also in terms of social distancing elevators are the problem. You might have to wait for an empty one, or better yet use the stairs. Enjoy your trip, good luck sleeping.

Wish I could give this place zero stars but I can't. Went in the end of January and I have never had a bad experience at a Hilton until now. Hotel sign neon lights are burned out. Floor we stayed on smelled like raw sewage. Nobody told us we had to get an appointment for housekeeping we called for them one night they never came. They put trash bins in the hallways I guess so we could clean our rooms ourselves. Unbelievable. Breakfast was included with our package so when I had to book 2 extra nights because my flight was canceled I was told everything would stay the same. Was charged an astronomical price for the two extra nights. Went to get breakfast the first morning no problem. 2nd morning we were told our room number wasn't on the list for complimentary breakfast. We told the owner to call the front desk to verify. The owner returned and said we were no longer getting complimentary breakfast to our disbelief. She accused us of eating some sweets on the table and putting creamer in the coffee which started a big argument and we were pretty much kicked out of the place and told to take it up with the front desk. I have never been so insulted and embarrassed. Upon checking out I noticed we were charged for the breakfast on both mornings. Hotel room had no soap, towels, shampoo, the basics we had to keep calling the front desk it was insane. Place is very unprofessionaly run and I feel like the staff could care less about you. I was so disappointed just wanted to check out. I took it as a learning experience never again will I make the same mistake. I am still disgusted.

The hotel is clean, service is good. It has a very small beach on the bay, but location is convenient. A few minutes drive from the airport and few minutes drive to the Old San Juan. The most amazing thing was yoga classes at 9am with the ocean view. Zulma Sanabria is great, experienced teacher with wonderful energy!!! I went to her classes every morning during my stay!

We just returned from Puerto Rico and frankly were disappointed with the Caribe Hilton. We arrived on a Tuesday for a 5 night stay during a time when the hotel was nearly empty. We had notified the hotel in advance we were there celebrating a birthday and wedding anniversary and there was no acknowledgement at all of that. No note in the room, no congratulations at check-in. Nothing. We had to negotiate an upgrade to a garden view suite which was appreciated but as Diamond members at a nearly empty hotel it should have been automatic and we had hoped for the beach wing which was available for an extra charge, which we declined. The positives were the staff at the pool and beach. They were all very friendly and we especially want to thank Robert and Orlando, who were outstanding and the three stars are for them. Our room was very comfortable and the view from the garden wing was actually a lot nicer than we expected. The negatives were the water pressure in the shower was disappointing and we could never seem to get the water temperature above lukewarm. The pool was also cold and essentially unusable. We probably spent 5 minutes in the pool over 5 days because it was so cold. They did have warm (not hot) water in the 2 jacuzzis that were always occupied (with guests awkwardly trying to social distance) as nobody wanted to swim in the cold pool. The pool area was beautiful to look at while soaking up the sun and the pool/beachside service was fantastic but we didn't get to enjoy the pool which is one of the primary reasons we picked this place. The beach is convenient but it was the least favorite beach that we visited. You can walk to nicer beaches or drive to much nicer beaches which is what we did 3 of the days we were there. The most frustrating part of our stay however was dealing with Hilton and the front desk. We're from Dallas and our return flight was cancelled due to the ice storm and we needed to extend our stay. We found a significantly cheaper rate on priceline for 2 extra nights (less than half of the rate on the HH app) and so we called Hilton to submit it for their price matching guarantee and they told us since they couldn't see it on their computer they couldn't match it. We then called the diamond desk, same story. We showed the rate on our phone to the front desk manager at the property we were already staying at and we got a "sorry" and a shrug. Nobody at Hilton customer service or the front desk could be bothered to honor their lowest price guarantee because conveniently it didn't show up on their computers. I'm not sure why priceline showed us a lower rate, maybe it was because we were already in Puerto Rico, but it was available to us and Hilton didn't even want to look at it and they made us feel like we were scam artists when we just wanted them to honor their policy and save us $500 that we hadn't planned on spending since our return flight was cancelled due to the weather in Dallas. We have been longtime loyal Hilton guests. We spent our honeymoon at the Conrad in Bora Bora last year and loved it. This experience however really soured us on Hilton. We called Marriott and they immediately transferred our status and made us Platinum Elite. We found a lower rate on priceline for the Sheraton Old San Juan and they matched it for us, and upgraded us to a junior suite without asking. When we arrived, there was a piece of cake with a nice note welcoming us to the hotel and congratulating us on our special occasion. The free included breakfast at the Sheraton is a delicious, hot, cooked to order breakfast vs. the muffin, fruit, and yogurt you get at the Hilton. Our flight was cancelled twice more and we ended up staying at the Sheraton for 4 nights and absolutely loved it. We loved our time in Puerto Rico. The people there are so warm and friendly and we will definitely be returning to the island. We will not however be returning to the Caribe Hilton. We travel a lot. We are headed to Hawaii next month and this time we will not be staying in a Hilton property (we will be reporting you to the FTC however). If you do choose to stay here, check priceline and other travel websites first. You will likely find a much better rate than what Hilton is offering, just don't expect them to match it.
