We stayed at Anse Chastanet from the 8-20 September and it was a great 12 days. We originally booked in January before COVID and were planning to stay a week at Anse and then a week on a yacht but that became impossible. Overall the trip was very relaxing and everything went smoothly - you get used to wearing a mask! We flew BA from Gatwick. Gatwick was pretty much empty. We stayed the night before in Stanhill Court, paid £100 for the night which included leaving our car there for 12 days - a great deal. The flight was fine and less than half full. Masks on for full flight and food was not great. We were fortunate to be near the front of the plane so it only took us 20 minutes to clear airport - temperature checks/ paper checks etc. An American couple told us that it took then 2 hours. Taxi to hotel organised by hotel - very easy, about an hour and the final bit is a bit steep/rough but nothing to be concerned about. For first 5 days we were there 2 big US diving groups were staying. After that occupancy was low. Only one restaurant was operating - the beach one - which is the only negative of our trip. The menu is not extensive at present. That said we were offered one night dining at Jade Mountain. Because there are no cruise ships etc the beach is very quiet and the service excellent so if you are looking for a quiet break it is a good time to go. We are active, diving nearly everyday, playing tennis, kayaking etc. Limited outside trips such as walking up the Pitons were just starting up but we didn’t leave the hotel apart from diving and kayaking - we didn’t feel the need to as plenty to do. Diving was brilliant. My partner was a newbie and did her practical before diving everyday. Special shout out to Carmen for giving her the confidence but the whole dive team was great. It was a big birthday for me and they unfurled a Happy Birthday banner at 60ft underwater - cool. Yes there are some limitations - wearing masks and only one restaurant - but as Chris the Sunday Times correspondent wrote (he with us on the rum mixology course - great job Melvin) it is in someways the best time to go if you like peace and attentive service. We were very lucky to get away and arrive back in Scotland to a new lockdown. Well done Anse Chastanet! The pic is the view from our room 4b- stunning. Watch out for sand-flies on the beach and bring some anti- itch cream!

This was our third trip to Anse Chastanet and once again we went on an all-inclusive 12-dive scuba adventure. Only open again for less than a month, the resort has been active in doing all required items to prevent the spread of COVID. Temperatures are taken of the guests prior to each meal and before each dive if you are scuba diving. Constantly you will see resort personnel wiping down areas and cleaning all the time. Wearing a mask all the time is uncomfortable, but you begin to get used to it. The adventure will begin for you when you go through all the health stations prior to departing the airport. You must have the results of a negative COVID test completed no more than seven days prior to your arrival. Once through all the screening you will be driven in a sanitized taxi to the resort. You will wear you mask on the one-hour drive both ways to and from airport. On arrival, you will be processed and taken to your room. We were in 4C which offered a spectacular view of the Pitons and the beach area (154 steps) below. Unlike our two previous visits, due to COVID, there was only one restaurant open at the beach area so there were lots of trips down and up the steps. You can get a ride, but we used the trips to exercise. The menu was a little more limited than normal and a few times items were just not available on a day (do to supply chain issues). If you are on a meal plan you will not go hungry. At lunch highly suggest the Dorado Fish Burger. You will never want to eat a Mickey D's Filet of Fish again. High tea is a delight and remember when you do the scones that the cream goes on first than then the jam! Dinner always had a fresh fish of the day and Red Snapper; Yellow Fin Tuna and Kingfish were some of the fresh offerings. A special Lionfish five-course wine paired dinner is available on Friday's for a surcharge. Pay the surcharge and indulge in this feast. Lionfish is delectable. The beach was great for a place to relax if you are into the beach scene. You can snorkel right there at the resort. You will see boats from other resorts coming by to snorkel at your beach most days. The life undersea is amazing for the snorkeling group. Now the dive operation on site is first tier. New diver courses are conducted all the time. Boat dives depart three times a day and on two days you can enjoy a night dive if that's your cup of tea. Most dive sites are less than ten minutes away. The diving on this trip was outstanding. Lots of marine life and spectacular colors under the water. They provide a divemaster on each trip and safety is paramount. If you do have a dive package your first dive will be a nice dive from the beach in the onsite marine preserve where you could see flounder, lobsters, crabs, turtles and much more. The rooms are open aired for the most part. No AC but a ceiling fan and old-fashioned floor fan will keep you cool at night. Be warned the tree frogs go on just prior to sunset and will provide music throughout the night. Then just prior to sunrise the songbirds will start there day and for about thirty minutes the two will combine for amazing music to awaken you. You will also enjoy the sound of the brief rain showers on the metal roof. Walking tours and biking are also available on site. Currently you can not leave the resort but they are hoping if everything goes well during this opening phase of COVID to add more opportunities in September. The staff is very accommodating and will do what they can to make your stay comfortable. If you are a diver highly recommend booking a package. If you just need a break during these trying times it is worth a trip.

My wife and I just stayed at Anse Chastanet and it was great. Our room offered a beautiful view of the Pitons. We could not of asked for a better place to relax for a week. The food was all very good as well, the resort supply's most of their own food and you can taste the quality in the food they prepare. We highly recommend the Discover Chocolate experiences where you get to make your own chocolate bar. Sailing with the resorts sail boat is also great. All the staff we came into contact with were very friendly and helpful. The one drawback is that the All-inclusive isn't fully all-inclusive as soe food items and drinks options include surcharges. But this isn't an issue as you can fully enjoy your stay without these items. We highly recommended staying here if you want to truly experience St. Lucia.

I want to update my story about the spring break trip that did not happen due to Coronavirus. We take trips all over the world with our two children and this was to be our first trip in a long time as a couple. Our sons, one in college and the other a senior in high school, had plans that did not include their parents. We foreshadowed the empty nest syndrome. It was an exciting time until Coronavirus hit and we couldn’t go. Anse Chastanet heard our plight and graciously offered to rebook us without penalty for up to 18 months. We look forward to frolicking and diving together once the global pandemic is over, and we look forward to seeing the resort. We could not be happier. The resort is being flexible and working with us. I hope everyone stays safe and we get back to a reasonable normal.

We stayed March 5th -12th in an all inclusive Superior Room through Westjet Vacations. The louvered windows have screens. All Inclusive - It's not truly all inclusive. There is a surcharge for prime beef and high end cocktails. Don't worry. You will be fine without these items. There is also a fridge in your room stocked when you arrive. You have to pay a $5 charge to restock the fridge. We would order a drink on the beach and bring up to our room. Unless you have a drinking problem, you will be fine. Breakfasts - fantastic. Lunches - on the beach service incredible. We ate green lettuce salads, burgers, paninis and soft fruits with no tummy issues Dinners - our favourite restaurant was the Beach Grill, followed by Treetop. Tuesday night they do a 'managers cocktail party' with buffet dinner. Bad idea right now with Corona Virus and the food was not great. If you want to eat a night out off resort, choose Tuesday. Book in advance for Jade Mountain. Entertainment - do not miss the Monday night Country Music - the best band by far Activities - yoga - a disappointment - way too slow - geared to beginners Excursions - If you are a hiker - book Gros Piton. 4 hours and we had a fantastic guide name McGavin. If you hike anywhere in the NE USA or Snowdonia/Ben Nevis UK, this terrain will be easy for you. No scrambling. Hand rails in place. Jungle hike on resort with Meno 'Meno... aka Mother nature' Very enthusiastic Staff - LOVE concierge Gifta - she makes everything right. On the Beach - Junior will give you some love. - Waitresses Chalista, Esther, Michelina there are too many to name. When can we return???
