Forget about it don't go

I have stayed at BGBR several times and thought that it was great, but when I called to inquire about staying there for 10 days over the Memorial day week it did not sound good. The persom\n that took my phone call was not very friendly and I was told that I have to book online previously I always made reservations by phone. The reason for doing it that way is because I could get a certain room because I knew the layout of the property. I believe that I spoke to Erin and she asked if I was aware of the Covid guide lines, I said that I was and had been vacinated and tested. I wanted a ocean view suite with a kitchen. She informed me that with the dine around plan some of the restraunts were on limited hours and we could not walk to them but HAD to use a covid certified Taxi. I then said that was one of the reasons that I wanted a kitchen to avoid that problem and that I could buy groceries ay the local G&L market that we know well. Now I was told that I could not leave the property to go to the store and they would have to go for me with a 20% surcharge! So you are not allowed to walk outside the property...sounds like you are in a minimum security prison not a relaxing resort. All this was told to me with an attitude I did not feel comforatable with sorry BGBR I will spend my $ some place else. The pictures in the adverts show smiling people and kids splashing in the water I wonder if they make you wearprison clothes with a number on your vacation? Sorry BGBR you lost a good customer. Island paradise!

My family had a blast at the Bay Gardens Beach Resort and Spa for 1 week in late January. The resort is beautiful. The Hi-Tide restaurant is airy, situated perfectly between the beach and the pool and has the most delicious, artfully-presented, healthy, fresh and plentiful meals. The beach is clean and has breath-taking sunsets. The staff members are friendly, attentive and helpful. The Splash Park is tons of fun and a challenge for the whole family. The Spa is relaxing and rejuvenating. The shower water made me hair feel silky and amazing. The towels were very clean and fresh without any chemical residue smell. We would love to go back!
BEST BIRTHDAY TRIP EVER!

Bay Gardens Beach Resort & Spa is an amazing resort in St. Lucia. From the time of arrival I was greeted with smiles and welcomes to the resort. Upon entering my Pool View room - it was decorated beautifully with balloons, banner & wine for my 40th Birthday. On my 2nd day I went out for a land excursion with a certified Covid tour guide and upon my return they re-decorated the room with new balloons and banners. Such a nice surprise that I really loved. The staff went out of there way to make me feel so special. The staff was AMAZING - the resort is gorgeous beach front with daily spa treatments (per room), an inflatable water park and delicious restaurant Hi-Tide. The other restaurant SeaGrapes is closed now due to COVID constraints however the Hi-Tide restaurant menu changes daily and they will prepare items no on the menu if needed. They have non-motorized sports available at no additional charge for the guests. (kayaking, SUP and water cycling) I stayed for 4 nights and everything was perfect. The rooms are cleaned daily - they have an activities board and also upcoming events. Due to Covid you can not leave the property and mix with the locales however the staff can make supermarket runs for you, which I encourage you to do if you want any St. Lucia groceries like sea moss. They do have a on-site gift shop for snacks & souvenirs. There is a daily tourism fee that is explained in the reservation - so don't be surprised with the additional fee. It is mandated by the government. During my stay the staff created an amazing beach bonfire birthday dinner with all my friends special dietary needs as well as AMAZING specialty drink. The food and decor were gorgeous. The night was picture perfect. There is an onsite nurse who administers daily temperature checks. The staff was deligient in getting appointments for Covid testing for re-entry back into the US. The setup a shuttle and the facility is about 10 mins away. Mrs. Patrick, Elsa, Olive, Gail, Nicole, Chante, Roger, Dale, Kelsha, Sherman, Tessa, Shauvon, Pinky, Christal, Robert and soo many others were extremely helpful and overall pleasant. I would definitely recommend coming to Bay Garden's Beach Resoort. They would not disappoint.
A wonderful Holiday during a world wide Pandemic

I arrived in St Lucia 18/12/2020 and was met at the airport by a driver and taxi that the hotel had organised for me. It was great to just follow instructions ,as it had been a long year with restrictions etc. I got a full explanation of the services and facilities available to me during my stay. The first few days was spent chillaxing at this very friendly, though professional managed hotel. The food is great and the staff are very friendly and are great at accomodating various requests. The Christmas and New Year celebrations were very enjoyable despite the restrictions at the hotel which we were all aware were in place to protect us the guests and the staff from Covid- 19. The Gym is available daily and there is access to a Fitness Instructor if required through a private neogiation. I did avail of it and due to the restrictions it was a booking system ...I was pleased it was only for an hour...a fine excuse for me !!!!! The swimming pool is wonderful especially as during my stay I got private tuition and learend how to swim properly. Terry was great in his manner and the delivery of knowledge that gave me the confidence I required. ...at 63 yrs I can at last swim!!! Terry also does water aerobics which is a great social event and an ideal way to chat to other guests. The Goverment of St Lucia were very aware of keeping the country safe and consequently there were daily changes some time but to me on holiday it didnt cause me any problems. An excuse to return to discover other parts of the Island. The rooms and facilites are great and in fact I stayed on the balacony of my room from 11-4pm . I didnt use any of the cooking facilities...as I was on holiday but good to have the option. The guests were only allowed to use Covid Secure Restaurants and the hotel booked our reservations and provided a free shuttle bus. Great local restaurens available within walking distance and it would have been great to have walked to them and called into a local bar en route home for a night cap. I did miss not being able to go out and about on foot to explore the area but ....strange times for all. Likewise all the expedtions were organised by the hotel to ensure that the Covid 19 restrictions were in place and adhered to by all participants. I would highly recommend this hotel for value for money, acees to local restaurants and for the "At Home" atmosphere. I am leaving today on the 20/02/20....my length of stay says it all!! The pool gave me great confidence due to its depth. However the beach is just a few feet away for the more enegeretic swimmer!
COVID Friendly Escape

Travelling during COVID is not recommended by any means, but was a welcome escape from snowy Chicago. Unfortunately, my partner and I were not properly prepared (our fault) with the right COVID test (Rapid test is not the PCR!!), but the resort did everything to make us comfortable. We had to "quarantine" at the resort until we got our results back from the test we had to take at the airport. During that time, they called us multiple times to make sure we were comfortable and brought us food and drinks. they really cared about our experience even when it was our mistake. Once we were free, the real fun began! While the food options were limited (result of the pandemic), the food was delicious and drinks were amazing! The outdoor water park was SO much fun (but also really difficult!!). We couldn't stop laughing. The pool was an amazing escape. The resort organized events like bingo, a cooking demonstration and water aerobics. All the staff went ABOVE AND BEYOND for us. We will definitely be coming back... after this pandemic is over!
