Horrible customer service experience during my days in this hotel. I requested at the lobby on my check out Day an invoice or other document showing how many day, my fiancé name, and mine to prove that we were enjoying together. My petition was dined with no options. I requested to talk with a supervisor or manager and they called the security service. I felt horrible and discriminated at this time due to my ethnicity and my sexual orientation.

I did an extensive review of the Reviews of the Hotel. I have to say this Hotel exceeded my expectations and I have been to several All-inclusive resorts. Check-in was a little long as some guest had issues checking in. When we got to the desk, it was fine. The hotel was very clean and typical Cuban workers cleaning at all times. The mess is caused by the guests. The staff is incredibly friendly and very nice to deal with. From the Kids Club, wait staff, gardener, and bartenders. The kids club was great for my daughters who enjoyed it and gave us a break. She did not want to leave. The ladies there are very nice - Leaya, Alina and Mayara. THE FOOD my biggest concern. If you know Cuba you know people have an issue with the food. I can understand the just don’t have things there that we are a custom to at home (Canada). But the food was fine. It was above my expectations. We ate twice off the resort - Carbon and Mojito. We’re great. We did all 3 al a cartes. Japanese was fun and good experience for the Seniors. The Italian was very tasty but the Cuban night wasn’t that good. AC didn’t work that night and food wasn’t that good. The Buffet was good, it got a little crowded at times and other guest seem ok to cut the line. Maybe it’s a cultural thing. Breakfast got repetitive but they had everything you want for breakfast. Dinners were good - fresh prosciutto being sliced. Shrimp, fresh grilled meat and fish. Just have to wait your turn. The snack bar was easy and not busy to feed the kids. Thank you Ana and Oniel they were friendly and always had a table set up for us. Ana even-put flowers and had a high chair set up. Made us feel special. Ok so now the issues with the hotel. Once you Understand it’s Cuba and they don’t have all the resources we are accustom too. Food and Room were great. Hotel is clean - the guest make this mess. They NEED to fix the Elevators. Only one is use. When you have 2 strollers and 4 seniors this takes too long and when the elevator door opens it’s full. My only issue was the elevator. Air Transat was also great. Great flight, larger plane. Flights were early. I would go back to this hotel again. I would recommend this to anyone.

Amazing Rooms, Good Food, Great Beach, DONT pay for Ocean View

*** Both myself and the man who stayed across from me were from Toronto, and when comparing how much we had paid for our rooms, I paid an additional $56 dollars a day for the view which I never looked at. The most ironic part? He saw the ocean from his balcony as well, as Cuba is very small and mostly water. We stayed on the third floor, me and my two retired grandparents. Elevators are slow and people cram into them once they arrive. If you or someone you're going with has an issue with walking up the stairs, take the lowest floor. The buffet was always clean and had plenty of options, and the service was always amazing, water was always topped up and plates were moved the second we were done. Finding chairs on the beach in Mid-April was a bit difficult, so we would reserve our seats at 5-7 AM. The washrooms very clean for the most part and the bedrooms were always cleaned nicely.

We enjoyed our stay here and think there is more good than bad with this hotel. Although we booked the star prestige package I understand there are differing reviews for the standard package regards the buffet restaurant and the food. We mainly ate in the panoramic restaurant for dinner and evening meals and couldn’t fault the food and the wonderful staff up there. They made such an effort to make our last night special, thanks again! The Cuban, Italian and Japanese restaurants were also very good but we only visited them the once. I was a little disappointed in the snack bar we used it twice as we were round the pool and both times the food was cold. I also tried to ring up for room service just before the 11pm cut off point, nobody answered till after 11pm and I was told room service had now finished. So didn’t bother the snack bar again! Although we were on the 8th floor the lift situation didn’t bother us, only a little wait and it was available. The cleanliness of the hotel was 10/10 housekeeping staff constantly going around the hotel. And our maid Sonia kept our room spotless and with daily surprises of swans, snakes and love hearts on the bed made from the towels. We was a little disappointed with the pools as one of the reasons we booked here was because it had a swim up bar. This was closed for 5/6 days. Although this wasn’t great for us I do understand maintenance has to be carried out, just unlucky I guess. All the bar staff were great and got to know what drinks you liked and often them waiting for. The people that work in this hotel work so hard for the little they get, maybe this should be reflected a little more in some of the reviews! If I returned to Varadero in the future I would return to the Bella Vista and hope a few of the minor issues we had encountered had been resolved.

Iberostar bella vista varadero What a nightmare, we are returning costumers and you think that you will be treat like returning costumers, or better, like paying costumers. Guess what, we payed for the best room in the hotel , same as we did last May, so after making reservations with Spain office, to our surprise they did charged us for the best room and checked us in the cheaper room. Not only that, to our surprise after getting keys at 5pm , we got 2 queen beds instead of king bed. And yes you go back to reception angry about that and they ask security to help them.... I guess they forget who are the returning costumers. Well , few hours in let's see how worst will get , updates to come soon.
