Excellent stay

Magnificent property. In addition to a beautiful, century old hotel, the staff seem formally trained in the hospitality industry. There is an old school feel to the staff, without exception helpful and professional. Joseph, our restaurant server, brought class and service to another level So lacking in the other chains. The rooms are spotless and comfortable. We cannot wait to return for a longer stay.

The grounds and the hotel were so beautiful. We love the location of the hotel as well because we could walk to everything we wanted to see. The doorman and the bell hops were super friendly. We enjoyed the spa but would probably never do it again because it was so expensive. Afternoon tea was a lovely experience as well but also something we'll only do once because of the cost. The hotel itself was surprisingly affordable given how fancy it was and what a good location. This may have been because we stayed on a Monday night.
I would like to go back immediately

This hotel is beautiful and super well maintained. The beds are comfortable. Very pretty rooms, the walls are nice and thick. Nice amenities. I love a good bathrobe. The location is top notch-close to downtown, harbor, museums. It’s all right out the door of the hotel. I had a great little stay.
Lovely stay at the beautiful Empress

From check in to check out everything was perfect. We enjoyed the Fairmont Gold level and the view from our room overlooking the harbour was beautiful. The Gold lounge area was really nice and we spent a lot of time there during breakfast and happy hour. The tulips around the property were just gorgeous. Can’t wait to return!
Go for Gold!

We loved the Gold services, the food and hospitality were top notch. Definitely worth the splurge. Unhappy with room - was only a partial view of the harbor when we were expecting a full view and there were tons of silverfish in our room, the bathroom in particular…and the balcony area was filthy. Expected more from our room. Staff were nice. Location is the best there is - heart of downtown. Parking is expensive and a bit of a walk, but plenty of space and just fine for even large SUVs
