It's a lovely resort but beware of you care about animal welfare

This really is a nice resort. Decent rooms, excellent food, great facilities and services. The location is fabulous and I absolutely loved the natural lagoon where you can snorkel with wild turtles who chose to come in to feed and shelter from the choppy ocean. However...and this is a big downfall...in this day and age I was extremely distressed by seeing the dolphins in captivity. It doesn't take a genuis to know that this is one of the most cruel forms of animal abuse worldwide. The "pool" for these beautiful creatures was extremely small and seemed very shallow. The dolphins displayed signs of distress and I was also told that there has even been a baby born in captivity.....The fact that people are allowed to interact with the dolphins and touch them just breaks my heart. Hilton, take a big of social responsibility, do your research and allow your dolphins to retire in a humane sanctuary.

    Small touches need attention

Pretty noisy at night with carts pushed right outside doors, rooms could use updating with peeling wallpaper and needing paint touch ups. Modern facility that still uses carbon paper in restaurants and no receipts given. Prices are high for everything. Felt no appreciation nor perks for gold status.

Great Hotel - A lot of walking to get to the room

Overall, one of the best hotels I have stayed in with a great property. A large property so be prepared for long walks to room. Don't go for the beach as there is not one. Plenty of whales just offshore.

This place is stunningly beautiful, the grounds and artwork are just breathtaking, yet there is something just not right with this "hotel". I put hotel in quotations because I'm not sure what this place is, hotel, vacation rental, Hilton vacation club ? We had a standard room that you would expect at a chain hotel but no mini bar, just an empty mini fridge , odd. The place is immense 62 acres so anything you want is probably not where you are. Another weird thing Adult Pool , with no hot tub and no pool bar ? so what's adult about it ? My wife and I wound up sitting at a family pool which was fine but when we wanted a drink I easily had to walk 1/4" mile each way to a bar and then back with the drinks, not once was there a person who came around to see if we wanted something to eat or drink. Is this normal for a vacation spot "hotel " ? Food wise I guess the restaurants are what you would expect, basic fare at most spots that are overpriced . The signature KPC restaurant had nice ocean views but again food wise nothing special except the prices. I will say the Luau production while definitely touristy was extremely well done, the entertainers were excellent,& the food was good. Final thought on the alcoholic drinks served, they seemed to be on the weak side even though I observed them pouring standard amounts of "alcohol" into the drinks. So if you are a family and you are going to eat off site this could be a good place for you, If you are adults I probably would look elsewhere.
