    Disappointed a bit

    First stay in Tropicana. I heard good things about Tropicana after its remodel about 10 years ago, but I guess they need a new remodel now again. The rooms were OK and good size, but the carpets old and weary, bathroom chipped and rusted in many places, windows so dirty that we couldn’t enjoy the Strip view. Everything is dropping down to the level of Circus Curtis today, and this is not good; they need to do something ASAP. Also, most of the pool was closed for the season, and though it was very nice and warm outside, it was hard to find chairs. The stupid resort fees? I don’t even want to go there as it became inseparable part of Vegas. Too bad.

    Stayed here for a few nights while attending a nearby convention. Chose it only because of the location and affiliation with Hilton. That affiliation appears to be VERY loose. Checkin was a bit slow. Most were not observing Hilton Honors checkin line, and some people just cut the line completely. Front desk staff was brief and expedient, however. The room was ok. Very warm upon arrival and took a good 12+ hours to cool down with the noisy AC. As a side note, the fitness center was also VERY warm. Thermostat showed 79 F, with no fans or moving air. The rooms show their age with chipped tile, worn carpet, and bed impressions. The windows are in desperate need of an external cleaning. Had a nice view, but was like looking through fogged glass due to the grime. The shutters were not completely black out, so the strip lights made it seem like it was always light outside. I had a west facing room, but the eastern sunrise bounced off the Mandalay and starting baking the room right away. WiFi was ok. TV was watchable, but always turns on with loud volume and many channels have the incorrect screen ratio. Very poor noise insulation from the outside. Sirens seemed like they were going by every hour at night. The most concerning part of the stay was the door. Upon arriving at the room, noticed it was not latched completely. It required some considerable force to close and engage the latch. Even more concerning was the door would not lock occasionally when leaving. A key was not needed to open the door! Security came up and ‘reset’ the lock, but glad I checked the door when leaving. It happened again a couple more times during my stay, and was reset by using my key. Was ready to discuss this further upon checkout, but was not asked how my stay was. Won’t be back. Will seek out a real Hilton chain hotel next time.

    Get away time with the wife

    Was very disappointed with this Hotel as this was a special celebration with my wife. I will never stay here again. The pictures on the web site look Great however looks can be deceiving as we found out. I hate to bad mouth a business ,however I think people should be aware.

    Terrible Experience

    Horrible experience, smells like cigarettes, worn out, rooms are scary, I was literally scared to be there. I didn't even won't to shower in the room. The parking lot is far away, I came in late so I was worried about my safety just getting to the hotel.

    We were on the tail end of a very important and milestone celebration weekend of a trip. Unfortunately our experience with Spirit Air Lines was horrendous, forcing us to have an unexpected additional night stay at the Tropicana. The silver lining was meeting Andrea who absolutely saved the day. We were exhausted and incredibly frustrated after dealing with people who couldn't have been more callous. ANDREA at the front desk, on the other hand, was welcoming, gracious, patient, a terrific listener, empathetic and her small but profound gestures made all the difference in the world. You have a gem in her. Her humanity in her hospitality is completely apparent. Thank you!! We will be back and look forward to visiting Tropicana again, because of Andrea.
