Would not recommend. Very outdated, smelled musty, service was rude, meals were not worth the price, got bologne on a meat & cheese platter. Didn’t allow us to use points for stay. Got watered down drinks when used free coupon given by hotel.

We had a great time staying at the Hilton Garden Inn. The updates to the property are lovely and the location and grounds, beautiful. The employees were so kind, attentive, and hospitable. We had a food credit from our Costco booking and REALLY enjoyed the restaurant. Of course it was pricey, but with the food credit, we didn't worry a whole lot about that and were able to try many things we normally wouldn't have purchased. We didn't do the breakfast buffet (ordered al a carte instead, to save on the waistline), and it seemed pretty typical, but we particularly liked the dinner options. There wasn't a thing we didn't like. They left earplugs for us in the room, so I was worried it would be noisy, but we never had a problem with noise, and being from Mountain time, sometimes we went to bed at 8 or 8:30! The beach towels were big and nice, and they also have coolers and mats you can check out for the beach. We also used the bike credit for the Kapa'a trail, which was a treat. You could tell the actual building is a bit older, but like I said, the updates are very nice. I'm sure there are fancier places, but this was very comfortable and met our needs just fine. I would stay here again.

We had three rooms: 2 rooms for 5 nights and 1 room for 3 nights. Because they were completely sold out we could not get upgraded rooms as Hilton diamond members but were given rooms overlooking the small pool with nice view of mountains in the distance. We still received free breakfast buffets which had fresh fruit and breads as well as hot items, a different special each morning as well as the option to order omelettes, etc from the kitchen. Unfortunately each room had an issue but each was quickly addressed and fixed except for the 3 night room whose AC was broken. The option of a new room was extended. If you don't think your AC is working, let the front desk know!! We didn't realize ours was broken until we walked into one of our other rooms the next day and found it freezing lol. Sure enough we needed a new part. The new bar/restaurant by the main pool was a great addition to the hotel! Food reasonably priced and delicious with awesome views overlooking where the river and ocean meet on one side and then Lydgate beach straight ahead. Can't wait for our next trip!! Next time I will spend the extra points to get an ocean view room. Mahalo Hilton for a great place to stay.

    DON'T STAY HERE!

I have been a Hilton Diamond member for over 10 years and this in not up to any Hilton standard. This may be one of the worst hotels I ever stayed at. First there is no oceanfront, the hotel backs up to a public park/beach which is between you and the ocean. There are many homeless people, people camping and tons of people around. People from the beach, not staying at the hotel were even using the pools. You are lucky if you can see water from your room. They do give you ear plugs so that the roosters don't wake you up in the morning. Do not book a cottage. They are not free standing but duplexes and do not have central air but window units stuck in the walls (see picture.) They are musty and humid, have zero view or furniture outside to sit down on. After complaining they moved me to a view-less king room that was at least $100 cheaper but only took off $15 per night. I called the Hilton Diamond desk and complained and then the front desk agreed to move me to a room with a better view, but not until the next day. They forced me to pack up all my things by 11 am and store them in the lobby until they could check us into another room at 4. When we returned at 4 there were over 10 people waiting to check in and only 2 agents working. When we got our keys, Balty from the front desk had already moved our things to the new room (best person working at the hotel!) The new room stunk of mold and mildew and even the housekeeping supervisor Myra agreed that we couldn't stay there. She said she would let the front desk know and send the manager, John. I waited over an hour then went back to the desk. They tried to move our room to a much smaller one (with no view) which I refused. They ended up putting us back into the same room we had the first night. When I complained again they took off the price of the two nights. My son got extremely sick staying in this room with an allergic reaction to the mold and mildew. We made one trip to the urgent care and then had to go to the hospital later for steroids. We bought a air purifier from Walmart for the room which helped a little in conjunction with the medicine. After the 3rd night my son was so sick we decided to leave and stay at the Outrigger in Kapa'a (much better place.) I am hoping to recover the money for the urgent care and hospital bills and the five medications my son was prescribed. Even though we didn't pay for any of the three nights it wasn't worth getting sick on vacation and all the aggravation.

Convenient to everything on the island. We stayed on the first floor and had a wonderful room. Clean and no issues. A bit on the pricier side but it is Hawaii. Loved being next to the ocean also. So pretty
