This place is great for families because of its amenities. Pool slide, large pools, kitchenette, washer/dryer. My only real grievance is that there isn’t a beach directly opposite to it. The beach is about a 5 minute walk which wasn’t too bad. The hotel offers board rentals as umbrellas. It has one restaurant and one store. There’s a complex of stores within a 10 minute walk with a drug store, restaurants and gift stores. Overall it’s a nice property. I wish there were vegan options on the menu though or at least more veggie options.

Stayed at Koloa landing at the start of this month for a family vacation and it was great. The property condition, the quality of the rooms, pool, location and service were all great. I had to transfer rooms mid stay and I worked with Susan at the front desk to minimize the inconvenience. She was amazing, she made the transition seemless, and she provided some of the best customer service that I’ve had at a hotel in the last couple years. We’ll be back!

KL is nice but does not feel like a luxury resort. Pools/grounds are nice and well-maintained. There are drinks and food at the pool but service was super spotty (I think because they had ONE bartender for way too many people). We were in a 1 bed villa and it had a washer/dryer and kitchen which was handy and they put a crib and high chair in our room as requested. The hotel is walkable to The Shops at Kukui‘ula, which has plenty to eat and buy. All in all a fine experience, but it felt like a condo complex and not a resort, though I will say that all of the people that worked there were very pleasant. The main reason I came away disappointed is that, while I knew this hotel wasn't "beachfront", I understood from reading reviews that they had ocean view rooms. I even emailed the hotel and asked for a good view after paying extra to book a "Coastline View" room. While they gave themselves an out in their response, "not guaranteed, etc." they did promise to get us the best possible view. Well, the view was a sliver of the ocean and the room was really dark inside even midday. It really took away from my experience, especially after spending $600/night. They DO have rooms that face the ocean but I have no idea how you get those because the Coastline option is the only one available at booking. All that to say, do NOT expect a good view here. I paid a premium for zero benefit, which was disappointing but I should have expected (hence not docking them for it).

We stayed 5 nights on Marriott points. We booked an island view room (only option available), but were upgraded to ocean view on the 4th floor. The rooms are spotless, modern and have all the conveniences including a washer/dryer. We went to the main pool - it is noisy with all the fountains, but still pleasant. It was tough to find a spot with an umbrella. Go early if this is your preference. Breakfast one day at the restaurant included banana macadamia pancakes and eggs were cooked to perfection. The yoga class was excellent as the instructor catered to all levels. The concierge was helpful, but we waited at least 35 minutes to speak with her as she was consumed with one guest. Better time management from the concierge would be helpful.

We spent unfortunately only three nights at Koloa Landing. The hotel was gorgeous! Great customer service and amenities including a nice gym, activities such as yoga, complimentary coffee and pineapple water and wonderful pools and hot tubs to enjoy. The rooms were spotlessly clean and very comfortable. We had a great time exploring the South Island and staying at this lovely resort. We can’t wait to visit again and we highly recommend!
