I don't typically write these reviews, but after getting back from Atlantis yesterday felt compelled. Overall, Atlantis is a fun vacation, especially for the kids- beautiful weather, plenty of pools and pretty beach. The Coral was fine- nothing amazing, but decent enough hotel and rooms. For what you get, though, this vacation is nowhere near worth the cost and I would not recommend to anyone or ever consider going back. People told us the food and drinks were expensive, but we didn't realize just how bad. There is a 12% tax plus 15% gratuity included on every bill, with already overpriced food/drinks. Maybe if everything were delicious and/or the service was fantastic, we wouldn't have been so put off by it. 85% of the employees here are super unfriendly, to downright rude. It was rare we encountered an employee that smiled/was helpful. In addition, there is a $60 daily resort fee, which literally gets you nothing. You get access to the pools and slides... but isn't that why you're paying already expensive prices to stay here? There are hardly any activities during the day, and the occasional one costs extra! Also a $10 daily "general gratuity" (as if we are not paying enough in gratuities as it is), and lots of other random fees we've been getting hit with since we've arrived home. Facilities are decently clean, but nothing impressive. Most of the bathrooms were dirty, especially near pool areas. Very disorganized- we were directed back and forth to different locations when trying to see a movie at the theater... no one seems to know what's going on or where (and when you have 3 small children with you and the place is so huge and not user-friendly, that gets to be a huge pain). Another very inconvenient feature is the lack of handicap/stroller access. I was shocked for a place that appeals so much to families- SO many areas with stairs with no elevator/ramp option. My husband carried the stroller up and down so many flights of stairs during this trip. Just ridiculously inconsiderate of guests. BEWARE OF BIRDS AND STRAY CATS! If you try to eat food by the pool, or really anywhere but a restaurant, you will be attacked by birds. One literally came down and grabbed my sandwich out of my hands! There needs to be some animal control here- tons of stray cats that also beg for food and rub against you when you're trying to eat... who knows where these animals have been! Do not drink the water from the refill stations! They are hard to find but when we did, we realized it tasted AWFUL- can't believe they are feeding that water to guests. Recommend stopping for water bottles on the way from the airport. I'm shocked so many people rave about this place and continue to go back. You can go to SO many other places with much better service, beautiful and clean, and lots of activities included. It seems like they are so commercialized and big that they think they can just be lazy and not care and people will still come even though it's so overpriced. Maybe they're right but we certainly won't be back!

Nice hotel with all Amenities close by. Dont listen to the whiny complainers. Sun, white sandy beach, Turquoise water, great local beer ( We recommend sands light) is better than a day at work, driving through snow and 22 degrees. We love it here!!! Can be expensive but lots of affordable ood options in Nassau. Go to Athena!!! Really Good mediterranean food!

Ignore the bad reviews! Wonderful vacation!!

We were very nervous to stay on the Atlantis property because of all the bad reviews. I am so glad we decided to try it! We originally booked the Beach because it was the best price. After figuring out that we could book through Hotwire for a better price and get bumped up to the Coral, we did that! I am so glad we stayed at the Coral! It is renovated and right next to the Royal, pools, aquarium, casino and everything! The lobby is located right across the street from the marina village which has restaurants and shopping. The Royal, the coral and the beach are all connected. Yes, the property is large but it is so easy to navigate and get around. You can walk outside on the pathways, inside, or through the different aquariums which take you out in different locations. As you walk outside of the hotel, you are right by the lazy river, the beach, the casino and about 5 minutes to the water park. Alcohol- We read reviews on the pricey drinks which is true, but that's what you should expect visiting the Atlantis. Beers are average $6-9, mixed drinks $12-14 and cocktails $14. They automatically put 15% gratuity on everything in the property and the sales tax is 12% in Nassau. We packed a suitcase of wine and canned cocktails. We are SO glad we did. We brought our own drink cups and you can walk around the entire property with your cup. We saw 75% of people with their own cups. There is a small fridge in the room and a liquor store across the street by Dunkin Donuts. Alcohol is free when you gamble! There are always cocktails servers coming around! Food- Ask if you get a daily lunch credit or a resort credit when you check in. We didn't know we had that until check-in. Thank goodness we did because the food is a little pricey and not the best you have ever eaten! (So the two of us pretty much ate lunch for free with the credit). We ate in the marina village several times which was always good. The Waterpark- Anytime you want to go on waterslide/into the water park area, you get a wristband so they know you are staying there. You just show your roomkey and you also get towels in the same spot. We got there right at 10 when it opens because we were nervous about 4 cruise ships in port each day. We had NO lines and did EVERY slide in under 2 hours! We never waited for more than 5 minutes in a line. The slides were all very fun and they were all different which was nice. The tube slide through the shark tank is absolutely amazing! We did take a beach bag with nothing valuable in it incase it got stolen just sitting on lopunge chairs. It was always fine. We kept our room key in our bathing suits because it acts as a credit card for the entire resort. The pools are only open 10-5 just like the waterpark. Kind of a bummer if you wanted to go in the hot tubs after 5 or in the evenings. The Beach- free lounge chairs! Bring your own snorkels too! The beach was beautiful with tons of waves for body surfing! Cocktail servers are ont he beach and locals who have coconut drinks too. Downtown- Take the water taxi which was $4 per person each way. It is under the bridge past Margaritaville. It is a fun ride downtown to the local shopping, bars and restaurants. The straw market is fun to walk through, the brewery is great, and lots of local bars with cheap drinks! Airport- It is about a 30 minute taxi ride and about $40-45 each way. Atlantis does not have a free shuttle. The Hotel- ask for a high floor because no matter which way you face, you will have a good view. The lower floors may not have a view at all. We asked at check-in and he was very nice and gave us the highest floor. Awesome ocean view for no upcharge. There is a safe, coffee maker, ironing board and fridge. The room was cute and clean. They all have balconys too. Downstairs in the lobby they have a little coffee shop with breakfast and lunch items. When you check-in, they give you water bottle coupons. Try to ask for a few extra. You can take the coupons to any bar, food area and pick up your two free water bottles. There is a Dunkin Donuts across the street which is way more affordable too! The lobby is a happening place in the evenings too. Families gather, play cards, music.... Overall, we are so happy we stayed there. Most of the workers said hello and were pleasant. Yes, some did not seem to enjoy their job but what can you do. Thats everywhere! We would definetly go back to the Atlantis again and would stay at the Coral or the Royal next time.

Everything was sooo nice during our stay at the Coral. We dealt Latico at the front desk & he made everything so easy. The staff was super nice & the room exceeded our expectations; very spacious and nice...recently renovated as well. It was my friend’s birthday & they even brought us a bottle of wine along with a birthday card. I would totally recommend this hotel to anyone.

Great time at the Coral Atlantis!

We recently returned home from a 5-day vacation at the Coral Atlantis. It was terrific! The Coral was the perfect spot for families and very kid-friendly. Easy access to a number of pools and beaches, and a short walk to the Aquaventure waterpark (which is included as part of the stay on the Atlantis property). Coral is also very close to the Marina, where many of the restaurants are situated. Not sure what all the complaints are about. We really liked the Coral - yes, it is older than the Royal and the Cove, but it is very clean and well maintained. We were upgraded to a high-floor, water view, which was spectacular. I can understand why some rooms on lower floors may not be as happy with the view, as they partially look out on a not-so-attractive rooftop (which could probably be spruced up with some greenery and flowers). That said, the Coral was very nice and very serviceable - certainly nicer than a Courtyard and on par with a number of other Marriott resort properties. Our room was very nice, clean, and appeared to have been refurbished relatively recently. No issue with the door that others on this thread have complained about. And the Atlantis property itself was simply amazing - the various pools, beaches, marine life areas, aquariums, etc. are all gorgeous. The kids loved walking through the “Predator Cave” tunnel and aquarium. We also walked around the Royal, which seemed very nice (very Vegas-esque) - cool aquarium on bottom floor - overall, worth a walk-through. Agree with comments about restaurants being very expensive, although that’s pretty par for the course at beach resorts (the 12% VAT is part of what drives up the cost, too). Food was generally ok, but not great. Olives was a standout in terms of quality. Frankie Gone Bananas also very good. Virgil’s was ok, as was Carmine’s - not great, but decent. For breakfast, Dunkin’ Donuts was a short walk away. Murray’s Deli was also very good for breakfast - waitstaff there were also particularly friendly (same at Olives). Do not agree with comments about the staff and people at the Coral and Atlantis. Was somewhat concerned after reading all of the negative comments on this thread, but we found the people pretty great. Almost without exception, everyone was friendly, helpful, and very welcoming. The staff at Aquaventure were particularly fantastic and made the time at the waterpark very enjoyable. Also had a great time at the Dolphin interaction, which was a very unique experience - highly recommend. Overall, an A for Atlantis and the Coral. We’re hoping to make it back again soon!
