Breezes is all-around a most FABULOUS all-inclusive. So many reasons and here are a few: - friendly staff. Everyone is wonderful. Smiling, helpful, genuinely surprised and grateful if you offer a tip, equally amazing even if you don't. Special shout-outs to Shanice (our housekeeper) and Sharon (Italian restaurant) and Shane (Asian restaurant) - all extra special! - great food. From the sumptuous breakfast buffet to lunchtime salads and pizza, to burgers and fries by the pool to all three specialty restaurants, we never had a meal that wasn't superb. I love that you don't have to make a reservation. *TIP* - go for the 6 o'clock seating and you won't have to wait in line for a long time. - comfortable beds and spotless rooms. Lots of hot water and great water pressure in the shower. - beautiful beach with lovely sand and plenty of loungers. - sparkling clean pools with plenty of loungers. - drinkable house wine and lots of cocktail choices. If you're looking for casino razzle-dazzle, this is not the place. If you're looking for great value in a great location and a relaxed, easy and fun vacation, Breezes cannot be beat! It's not exactly quiet, what with the "animation staff" by the pool and the nightly band, but it's nothing that a closed window and cranked AC won't solve. And the piano bar is FUN!

Out of all the hotels I've ever stayed at in my life, there's not been one that I couldn't have been more thrilled about checking out from. It's not because the room was a dump, or the hotel lacked character, or that it misrepresented itself, but instead because of the blatant way this hotel treats new customers and repeat customers so differently. On this trip I was traveling with friends who were repeat customers. This was my first time there. Upon checkin, my friends were able to checkin early while I was told I would have to wait. I understand that if my room wasn't ready, then no, I'd have to wait. I have no problem with that. That's completely understandable. But, I was told my room wasn't ready. So, we all went to our friends room to wait. While waiting, I noticed their room only had one bed. I requested a room with two beds because I was traveling with a friend and needed separate beds. So, just to make sure I wasn't waiting all this time for a wrong room, I went back down to the front desk to inquire. I went to the same guy who checked me in and questioned the bedding situation. He told me that I was getting a room with only one bed. I explained the situation and he said to come back later because he would have to get the approval from his supervisor and she would have to make the change. He also reiterated that just because I was trying to get a different room that I'd still have to wait until the proper checkin time for my room. That was insulting. I told him I requested two beds when I made the reservation and that I wasn't trying to gain access to any room early, but merely didn't want to have to wait all over again because they didn't give me a room I requested in the first place. I'd only have to wait longer to get it all straightened out. At this point, I went back to my friend's room. I explained everything that went on downstairs and the way I was treated. My friends, the repeat customers, were also taken back by it all. One of my friends was so insulted that she insisted on directly speaking to the agent I had been dealing with. When we went down there he was gone. So, we went to another lady. My friend flashed her "Repeat Customer" wrist band and questioned everything that went on with the poor service I received from the guy who checked me in. The agent was baffled and said our room was ready, it had been ready, and that we were indeed getting a room with two beds. Funny how things changed when a repeat customer did the talking! Yes, I do agree that priority guests should get preferential treatment, but man, to lie and make things up was over the top. That's absurd. Anyhow, my friend and I finally gained access to our room. It did indeed have two beds and it was very spacious. I was happy. We both were happy. I ordered their cabana with butler service for two days. Our waiter was a guy named "G." The first day we were there he only served us once. The second day he only came around at most three times. Even though I was grateful to have the shaded area on the beach, my daily rental fee of $50 included waiter service. G should have been more attentive. Our friends, the repeat customers, yes, you guessed it, were treated much differently. G was at their cabana every half an hour serving them both food and drinks. Again, the blatant disrespectful display between repeat and new customers. New customers were ignored. Repeat customers were treated with dignity. From that point on, whenever we did anything, we had our friends (the repeat customers) stand in front and flash their badges. That's the only way we got any attention or service. And trust me, IT WORKED! How does this hotel expect to gain additional repeat customers if they can't even treat the new customers properly? This was my first visit and I can guarantee you it was MY LAST!! The only reason why I did not rate this hotel with only one star is because the food at all three of their restaurants was amazing. The buffet meal was delicious and plentiful. I have never seen such a huge array from a buffet. Even the snack bar served delicious burgers, fries, and hotdogs. Whatever you wanted to drink, even if it was top shelf liquor, as long as they had it, you could have as much as you wanted. The hotel was not cheap at all when it came to food and drinks. As far as the room was concerned, it was dated, but for the most part the room was clean. The beds were very comfortable with ample pillows. Sheets were pristine. Towels were fresh. The room did stink, but that's only because the water they use there was well water and not chlorinated or filtered like most of us are used to. Whenever you showered, the steam filtered throughout the room because the air conditioning unit was right over the bathroom door blowing into the room. After a while you got used to the smell though. The water pressure in the bathroom was poor and the temperature didn't get that hot. That's understandable as you're in the tropics and need to focus more on cooling down instead of getting hotter. However, I would have liked better water pressure in the room. The room had a TV, but no microwave or fridge. If you wanted a fridge, there was a daily surcharge of $12 to have one in your room. The resort did offer activities throughout the day for their guests, but none of them appealed to any of us. We really just wanted the sand, the sun, and the salty ocean water. So, I can't comment on the quality of their activities. If you take away the difference that one is treated from "new" vs "repeat" customers, I probably would have enjoyed this hotel so much more. It is truly a shame that if it wasn't for our friends who were repeats, we probably would have been ignored the entire time. Breezes got my business once, but I would NOT ever return to their resort even knowing that next time I would be considered one of their valued repeat customers. Treat me right the first time and there'd be no questions about a second time. They lost their chance.

If you’re looking for a budget friendly resort this is it. Everything is outdated, this resort needs a major upgrade. When you walk next door to Baha mar it puts this resort to shame. The garden of eden & the Italian restaurant was great though. Please do come early if you don’t want to wait a while. Some staff could use an attitude adjustment. Not all restaurants are opened all the time which was my biggest complaint. I’ve never been to resort like this. I’m not sure if this is their way of saving money, but it’s utterly ridiculous. If you’re a vegan be prepared to eat fruit and salad only. Okay I’m being extra but I don’t eat meat and I felt like some of my options were the same all the time while there, that gets boring. They do have some vegetarian options. Front desk staff was friendly. Shout out to the preggo waitress working in garden of eden, she’s due next month and rocked it and she was the sweetest. I do apologize about forgetting her name. I do recommend guest to take the bus to head downtown. It’s less than 2 dollars and it’s not far from breezes whatsoever. Literally a 2 min walk, if that. Buses stop running around 6:30ish. I hope this is helpful. ??

My wife and I visited in 2011 for a wedding and we werent thrilled. We had reservations about returning this time with a group of 12 close friends. I'm happy to say this hotel is much improved. We came in with the expectations that the rooms would be dated and the food would be bland. We were impressed the rooms were newer and the food was great. While we didnt have specific interactions with the staff, we found them pleasant and helpful. The asian restaurant was wonderful and the meatballs were some of the best we've had. The italian restaurant was also nice. On the night when only Garden of Eatin was open, we chose the buffett, which had something for everyone. Breakfast was great every day and the pool snack bar was also tasty and fast. We brought our own cups (recommended) as the mixed drink cups are small. We tipped $1 here and there and it was appreciated. The pool was cold, but on sunny days, it was bearable. They seem to have gotten the seagull problem under control. Beach was beautiful and well maintained. Also colder, but it is January. We visited the Baha Mar casino and while the casino and hotel was very nice, it was very expensive. This makes the all-inclusive Breezes that more attractive. A few negatives: 1. Some of the rooms are adjoining rooms and there's a door in between. This allowed for sound to pass through at night. We had a noisy neighbor who had guests in his room. The front desk was quick to quiet them down. 2. You cant reserve dinner reservations anymore, so it's first come, first serve. If you arrive after the seating, you have to wait until the next seating. Overall, this place is great for the value. It's not a 5-star place, but a place where there's something for everyone.
