A beautiful place

Culture45554707731 (Kirkfield, Canada) on Apr 13, 2024

We stayed here for a week in April. There was nothing we would change except to stay longer!!!! The staff are truly beautiful, special people. The food and drink were great. Certainly never went hungry. The buffets always had something delicious to eat. The Rummucino’s were my favourite part of the morning. What a fantastic coffee bar right next to the buffet. Paul at the piano was a talented and engaging musician and we enjoyed sitting at the martini bar sipping and singing… If you are interested in relaxing and being on the most calm and beautiful beach ever, stay here!!!!

Perfect getaway

Justin J on Apr 12, 2024

For our group we needed a small resort and i can declare this is a nice one for size . We were planning on going to the Cliffs but wanted a shorter drive to get here since it would be another 30 minutes extra . The ride to Negril feels like 2hrs but its 90 minutes to get there we didnt use the public shuttle service due to the stops they make and unnecessary waiting especially if you consider possible flight delays and crowded airport. We found a very pleasant company in Top choice Jamaica Tours or tcjtours for short they were excellent and it was just us on board and we had the best rum punch while coming to this resort with the best conversations . Highly recommend them if you driving this far . Even though its a little distance the reception and the resort is so much worth it . Be prepared for friendly staff , flora and fauna , the beach is next door . I know its spring break but we didn't feel so much pressure there except with towels. Rooms are spacious place is quiet , concierge is excellent at explaining everything . The fruits were probably my favorite and i would recommend this location to anyone who wants a great combination of food entertainment . The beach is private and there tons of options to do on the water . I suggest going to Pelican Bar or Booby Cay for real good seafood and rustic vibes . We wanted to see the Luminous Lagoon but it was too far of a drive back to Falmouth we also wanted to see Dunns River Falls . Overall if you love a laid back come here

Enjoyable but with a few hiccups

rmgoens on Apr 11, 2024

I want to start by saying that the staff at the resort was the friendliest and most helpful I’ve ever encountered! The rooms were comfortable, but could use a little updating. The lush gardens surrounding the treehouses were beautiful though! The resort is small, so it never felt crowded, and you never had to wait for drinks/food and there were always plenty of beach chairs available. That being said, the food was very disappointing. We were expecting true Jamaican cuisine, but it wasn’t as flavorful as we expected. Also they were completely out of towels two of the days we were there, which was a big inconvenience. Otherwise, the resort was beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. If you’re looking for a very chill, quiet place to relax for a few days, would definitely recommend!

Our Second Stay at Sunset at the Palms

Mona C (Gagetown, Canada) on Apr 10, 2024

We returned to Sunset at the Palms after 8 years, and it did not disappoint. We even got some special treatment for being a return guest. We love the size of this resort. Small and intimate. And the tree house style rooms make you feel like you are in a tropical forest. Because of the size, there were never lineups at the buffet. Always available chairs on the beach and at the pool. The staff and management are very friendly and always aiming to please. The food at the buffet and a-la-cart was first class. We loved the service on the beach. They brought your lunch order right to your beach chair complete with cloth napkins and stainless-steel utensils. Pay the extra for a deluxe room unless you don't mind the sound of busy traffic early in the morning. The beach is across a busy road, but the crossing guards are on duty to make sure you cross safely, and it is a very short walk. This did not take away from our experience, and the sunsets there are amazing. We hope to return again.

I will be back

Lyall S (Ottawa, Canada) on Apr 09, 2024

Booked this trip last minute with friends (2 couples). Stayed April 1-8. Don’t let not being beach front deter you from staying here. Short walk across the road to a wonderful stretch of sand and the water is warm and calm. Bring a floatie so you can spend time floating. Accommodations were okay. Kept clean but are starting to look dated. Gardens are beautiful and well kept. Pool was nice and water temperature was good for me. Cool and refreshing. Very quiet by the pool and if that is your thing, you will love it. Food- good to excellent. Breakfasts were regular buffet but did not get old for me over 7 days Lunch- very limited menu at both locations. The food was okay to good. Dinner- both the buffet and sit down dinner was good to excellent. Buffet had varied theme nights and the Lotus, I had short ribs and rack of lamb and both were excellent. House wines were good and you could buy more expensive if you wanted. Drinks and beer were good. Depending on bartenders, one drink was never the same lol. All staff were friendly and engaging and willing to help. We had a few issues with our room and all were dealt with. I loved the piano bar. So much fun Few Suggestions Vary up the lunch menu Have ready made snacks at the bar- pizza, fries etc . Nice to have something light between lunch and dinner to enjoy watching those beautiful sunsets. Do something with the tennis court. It’s an eyesore. Pickle ball/tennis? I don’t typically go back to the same resort as there are too many places to go and see but I really did enjoy the chill vibe of SATP and the food so I will be back
