We arrived Saturday the 14th of September for a week of fun leading up to a wedding. We booked an ocean view room in the preferred section. Check in was easy but immediately we were given the sales pitch for the time share. Also, we upgraded to a upper level beachfront suite for an extra $1500. This was an Anniversary splurge. We are seasoned travelers taking 3 out of country vacations/year. Mostly to all-inclusive resorts where we can count on a week of no hassle fun. The room is beautiful and the whole resort is very clean with constant effort to keep it so. The food has been pretty good with good service with the exception of #8 below. *These were the first signs of trouble: 1) the key card takes 10-15 tries every time before it will work 2) the air conditioner shuts off for no reason and you wake up in a sauna. This is because there is a gap on each side of both sets of sliding glass doors making the air conditioner think the doors are open thus telling the air conditioner to turn off 3) the “upgraded” minibar consists of 3 airplane sized bottles of liquor and 4 mini Corona lights 4) none of the ice machines on any levels work-no ice in the entire building. We are consistently told to just call room service which is a 1-1 1/2 hr wait for ice 5) a couple 3 doors down has a DOG which barks 24 hrs/day. We have alerted the concierge several times but nothing has been done. 6) pool bars and swim up bars close at 6 7) no nightly entertainment or dancing 8) immediately on going to the pool during what we were told was 25% occupancy due to Covid we noticed that that the common areas are packed! We were hungry so we went to the grill, noticing that 99% of the people were locals. No problem-more fun. But after waiting our turn patiently they kept cutting in front of us in line and been served preferentially. The next morning at breakfast in the buffet the same thing. All non locals appeared to be invisible. Since then we either go to a sit down restaurant or order room service. Then we overheard them talking English and found out they were being given a rate of $35/day! Roughly 10% of what our party of over 30 was paying! Apparently, this was started also due to Covid and low occupancy. Make no mistake this is overbooked now- way over 25%. 9) this is no fault of the resort and I should have researched further but the Ocean is muddy-no pretty clear blue water to be found. Originally we were told that it was due to rain that morning and would clear up in 4 hrs. Since then we have learned that due to it being the rainy season, the large rivers run the heavy rains down the mountains into the ocean 4 months out of the year and it is only Clear from December-June. I am sorry for the downer review but these are reasons we won’t return here and wish we had known prior to booking. We never even considered a barking dog to be a potential nightmare ( it hasn’t took a breather from barking since I started this review)

I was there September 1-9, 2020. I came with my mom. We stayed in a king-size bedroom with a swim out. The room was spacious, clean, and the bed was very comfy. The hotel itself is amazing because of how nice the views are and it is so clean!! Such a beautiful hotel. Right when you walk into the lobby there is a huge view of the Pacific ocean. I spent many nights watching the sunset from the lobby! As soon as you come to the hotel the staff says, “welcome home.” I thought that was really nice- I did feel at home. You get complementary champagne right when you come in! The food in the breakfast buffet was an easy 8/10. Lots of fresh food options and due to Covid, it’s wrapped in plastic. All the staff wear masks, eye protection, & gloves. The staff adhered well to the necessary precautions to protect themselves and others while in the middle of a pandemic. The pools were super pretty and clean. The palm trees and foliage around the hotel and rooms were stunning and well kept. Carlos at the front desk was helpful. David on the beach helped us get cabanas and it was wonderful and comfortable. GIOVANNI at the front desk was amazing. Giovanni helped me to get another room for a couple nights for some privacy and he linked me with a beautiful room with a jacuzzi. Mari Cruz at the front entrance was very helpful as well. Eduardo one of the servers by the pool/ocean was very nice and fast. The security at the hotel was amazing! I felt very safe. The hotel is connected to secrets and that hotel has pools available as well. I would definitely come back to this hotel for the staff and views alone! I am so glad I came!

My new husband and I are having the most amazing time. It’s been a luxury experience with all the staff being highly attentive and accommodating. Carlos Diaz, Miguel, Elizabeth, Leticia Aranda were especially hospitable and treated us like celebrities on our honeymoon. The servers Francisco and Emilio were 100% on point and served us an incredible “Sexy Coffee”- a must-not-miss great! Sergio the sommelier provided us incredible wine choices and pairings for our budget. The cabanas are a high-class experience with incredible value, Comfort and sanitation. All the staff throughout the whole resort wears masks and face shields. There’s sanitized throughout and everything is sanitized throughly. They keep social distancing regulations and meet all sanitation needs you could want to stay safe while enjoying a luxury vacation. I would recommend traveling to Puerto Vallarta to this resort as soon as possible! You get more value and more intimacy than you could ever get any other time!!
