This hotel is very old and leaks badly if it rains, including in our rooms and the main dining area. Musty smell so bad that we had reactions. Had a theft from a room and security was not responsive. Beach is nice and there are some small waves for boogieboarding. We brought our own boards and were glad we did. The boards for use are barely holding together and hard to get. Easy walk to nearby Bucerias which is lovely. Lot's of long stay people who come back yearly, bring the place a wasting away in Margaritaville feeling. Food was ok but we've had much better at other hotels including 2 stars. Evening shows are not great and there is really nothing to do in the evening. Literally the place is dead quiet by 9pm so don't expect any disco. Great if you want to go to bed early, except if you are on side next to Rui Vallarta next door. In that case you can and will have to listen to people enjoying themselves late into the night. I love real Mexico and this has some of that but pretends to be something it's not. The Mexican restaurant was some of the blandest food I've ever had. Bring on the spice.... You have to ask for guacamole if you want it. It's small so not a lot to do for activities. It seems like they will probably tear this down and rebuild at some point. There's a reason it's on sale...... I took my mom and was embarrassed at the choice I made. So many nicer places to stay in the area.

Nice and compact hotel, no long walks. Very pretty and well groomed grounds. Frienly staff. Only steps away from the beach. Pools are warm but are a lot smaller than they are shown on some pictures. Overall delightfull experience.

My mother, daughter (10). And I travel to Mexico annually. I have disabilities so we wanted to try a smaller hotel this year. I’d say the best part of this hotel is its staff. Everyone says hello to you as they pass. Salvador is at the top of the list servicing the restaurant in the mornings then serving drinks by the pool or on the beach. Entertainment staff was always out, the kids club went searching for iguanas every morning. They fed them fruit. The pool is the best feature. My daughter was fine on her own in that pool making friends. The rooms are outdated and aren’t cleaned until later in the day. Elevators are out of the way, it is not the most accommodating for disabled travellers but that’s a tall order. The hotel was small enough that I could walk around on my crutches just needed support on the ramps. There is a little shop on the beach, not a big variety of vendors out on the beach. There’s a great convenient store right by the billiards tables. We only went to the buffet and Italian restaurant because it was impossible to get into the Mexican restaurant. The buffet was good a bit above average, those with kids should be notified of the self serve ice cream, it’s available all day and a big hit. The Italian restaurant was delicious the steaks were good. For lunch they open an area at the Mexican restaurant and serve burgers, hot dogs, fries. If you eat in there guacamole is an option, at the buffet the waiters will get you guacamole if you ask. The theatre is a bit hidden, it’s through the outside seating area of the buffet to your left. We enjoyed all the shows but our favourite was the Michael Jackson show. Staff kept an eye on use to help and assist in any way we needed and always kept an eye on my daughter. They all helped with my Spanish. I think his name was Luis who brought our bags up was a great help. Taxis are at the front and will be hailed if you need one. I would go again just for the staff and the size of the hotel.
