Beautiful beach and pool. Unorganized and poor communication regarding dining facilities and activities. Poor selection of restaurants (for 7 days our only choices were Italian, Vietnamese or buffet). Food quality, variety is poor and minimal local cuisine (unless you count innumerable yam, sweet potato or cassava).

This resort is rated as 5-star resort. Its nothing close to 5-star. The rooms are regular hotel rooms that in the USA would cost less than $100 a night. We arrived in the room tagged as disinfected and there’s a piece of Cheeto curls on the floor, the fridge is hot, there is no microwave, there is no washcloth and the phone is not working. We tried to call the SPA to schedule services and nobody answers the phone. We scheduled it thru the people located close to the Merkado restaurant. Deep tissue massage is $150 per person. In America deep tissue massage is no greater than $100. $150 will be a combination of 2 services. We have already paid for green fees for golfing. When we booked for tee time, they insisted we pay for #3 golf carts even if we just want to walk. Its an 8-hole golf course. We walk that length all the time in NJ. They insisted $75 per cart. Then they insisted # 3 sets of golf clubs for $25 each. We said we dont need #3 sets. We are a family of 3 and we can share just # 1 set. We paid $600/night for a beachside room. When we got in I couldnt see the beach. I have spoken English for a long time. Beachside means on the side of the beach. Those who speak real English explain to me what Im missing about the word “beachside.” I cant see even a glimpse of the beach from our room even with my eyeglasses on. There are very welcoming staff but there are also staff especially the servers in the restaurants who seems not to know too much, very frustrated maybe because they cant speak English, some seem like they are just NOT happy or whatever it is, it makes the resort not a VERY HAPPY place. On our first night, we booked for a Mexican restaurant/dinner, it was buffet nothing close to Mexican at all. We were hoping it could at least be DR food. But, NO! When did pizza became Mexican or even Latino food? The Italians will definitely be offended. Most of all, the food made us sick. I have never farted so much in my life. My husband was farting so much too in the middle of the night with some abdominal cramps because there’s like rumbling in our stomachs. Something about the food they served. There are more locals here than tourists. The locals dont pay the same as the tourists. So, in short, this is highway robbery for tourists. Pretty much the tourists are paying for part of the locals accommodations. But, with that being said, the resort should at least treat the tourists well and give quality service for the amount of money they charge them. Thats how honest business is run. Maybe administrators need to attend some business- related seminars. So, whoever wants to come here from outside of the country just be ready to squander your money. If you have some money to throw away then you should be okay. It wouldn’t matter. But, if you are a person who worked hard for your money and respect for your hard earned money, you shouldn’t waste it here. Do gambling instead. At least in gambling you have a 50/50 chance of winning. 5 - star resorts in Mexico -such as Mayan Palace - where we usually go, is the real 5-star resort. You may spend so much but its worth every penny. We are not coming back to this resort. We may try a different one next time and see for ourselves if Punta Cana resorts are across the board like this.

We were attended by Rafael and Jonathan at a Caribbean pool bar, they are excellent people, the service is great. The drinks are perfect. They are always cheerful and kind. Smiling and requests. Anyway, they are great people and great bartenders.

    Great hotel, not COVID ready.

I’ve been here 3 years ago and the hotel was amazing. This time around, there is reduced staff due to covid but everything becomes an inconvenience for the guests. Too little staff, too big of a property. Shuttle buses around the hotel would take 20-30 minutes to get to you. Reservations for restaurants was VERY limited, as there would be one restaurant and one buffet available per night. There’s no staff at the pool or beach taking drink orders, you basically have to get everything yourself. Breakfast juice bar is self serve, which wouldn’t be very sanitary during the pandemic. It’s very relaxing but there isn’t much entertainment. Trueing our stay we also didn’t see much sanitizing happening. The hotel is great, but I don’t think they were ready to open.

We will be back to Meliá Adults only for sure!! Staff was exceptional.

We had the absolute best time at this resort. It was beautiful. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We got lucky and had the BEST concierge, Santos E the bell boy at Punta Cana. He went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. He even on his days off would contact us to ensure we were taken care of. We will be back for sure and we will ask for him personally. Rooms were beautiful and very clean. House keeper Aracelis Calderon was very friendly, we loved seeing her everyday. She would leave us little cute surprises in our room (and correct our Spanish...we tried haha) Food was great. Breakfast and lunch views of the ocean and pool area were beyond perfect. The same waitress would take care of us and greet us with her big smile, she’s another reason we will be back. I wish I could remember her name Xemaria I believe. Just the best!!
