Me and my wife come to barcelo maya resort every year and we enjoy it every time. I want to write this review specifically for all the help that the Caribe Manager Juan Carlos Lopez did for my wife and I on our anniversary, he did so much by going above and beyond to make our stay extra special and was so helpful and friendly, I hope to see him again in the future. Thank you to him and all his friendly staff for making our vacation unforgettable. We will be coming back!!

The facilities were clean and the staff very friendly. The pools and bars were great, especially on a hot day. So many things to do. A great all inclusive hotel.

We were on a 7 day vacation and we really liked the hotel! We stayed in the Labna Rooms and it was spacious enough storage and the bed was great! The service is nice and the staff are interactive. There was a very big pool and another pool that is just for doing laps. The beach is great and I suggest that you get a beach chair extra early around 9;00am. It is filled during the day! The shows are fun and breathtaking! I personally prefer the magic show very cool! There is a LOT of food options restaurants and buffets! You even have access to all the other buffets! Yes, THERE IS A MALL!!! Filled with shops and entertainment for the whole family! And a big Mexican style plaza across from the mall! In summary great hotel, great vacation! I recommend you come here!

I had a massage at Your Spa Caribe with Katrina as the therapist. She was most excellent. Very intuitive in knowing how much pressure to use durimg the deep tissue. She relieved many of my aches and pains and helped me to relax. She is very very good, highly recommend her as a therapist!

I came here with a group of friends (6 late 20’s): Grounds: The grounds and buildings are beautiful, clean and well kept. There are multiple pools. One area near the swim up bar, they have some pool activities through out the day and music. There is also a lap pool and another quieter pool. The beach was beautiful. Some rocks in certain spots in the water but overall quite sandy. We never had an issue getting beach chairs and there was lots of shade at both the pool and beach. 5/5 Room: The rooms were definitely the worst part of the whole trip. The room itself was okay - spacious and pretty clean when we got there. A bit dated but the decorations were fine. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. But the walls are paper thin and we could hear noise in the hallway late at night and early in the morning every day. We could also hear people talking and moving around in the rooms beside and above us. This meant we were woken up every day around 7:30am which was very annoying and disruptive when you’re trying to enjoy a nice vacation. I’ve never had this issue at any other resort. The maid service was also significantly lacking compared to other resorts I’ve been to in this area. Very basic service - They didn’t ever clean much. 2/5 Food and drinks: The food in the buffets was good overall. Some food was very yummy but a few dishes were not very good. The dinner buffet options were always varied and tasty. Most of the food seemed fresh and warm. There was a lot of different salads, pastas, vegetarian options, fish, fruit etc. But, overall Ive had better at other resorts. The service in the buffets was inconsistent and it was hard to sometimes even get our glass of water filled. We went to three specialty restaurants - Spanish, Mexican and Italian. The food was yummy and the service was much better than at the buffets. The drinks were very good as well. 4/5 Activities/Nightlife: The club was fun. We went there a few nights and had a good time. The shows at the theatre were okay. There are some activities throughout the day around the pool. 4/5 Overall it was a great vacation but I don’t think I’d come back to this resort.
