A RESORT THAT JUST KEEPS ON GIVING GREAT THINGS!
Linda H on Mar 20, 2024
My husband and I spent 10 nights at the Kantenah and felt it exceeded expectations of an all inclusive resort of this size. There is not much you can find to criticize about this entire complex. It is 3 resorts rolled into one, with an additional "TRS" property that adjoins and is exclusive to those guests only. They have a salt water pool that is fed directly from the ocean, private pools outside the suites, the location is ocean front and a few restaurants are of a higher caliber. These are the only differences from the other resorts; White Sand, The Colonial and The Kentanah (where we stayed) on the complex. The grounds are huge and there is a private road and jungle trails that you can walk to visit all these resorts. There is a golf cart-like shuttle that will come within minutes to drive you anywhere on the property. There is beauty all around and the animal life is present but unobtrusive. Iguanas lounge all around the pool and will actually beg for any handouts. There is a monkey that visits and knows his way around the property - he is unafraid and to be given his space, but it is fun to see him. As well, you will see a few families of white nosed coaties and agoutis that look like large brown rats with no tails - very skittish and stay far awy from you on the walkways. They keep the property extremely clean and manicured. The pools are salt water and crystal clear and so enjoyable. I would recommend to them that they should offer cushions on the loungers. The bare nylon is very hard to lie on for very long. There is no food service at the pools, but drinks are served to your chair. Overall, the food in the large buffet restaurants (partricularly Vidalia) is beyond abundant with a huge variety and very fresh. The best, ripest fruits and vegetables are served. Fresh made eggs, amazing authentic Mexican food, hamburgers, pizza, fresh roasted white fish, whole chickens, smootie bar, fresh baked pastries, breads, coffee bar, it just goes on and on. Delicioius and first rate. The dinner restaurants have wonderful salad bars that differ slightly depending on the region of food - Italian, Mexican, Aregentinian, Japanese, etc. But the entrees that you order off the menus are only slighly above average. I would not say the food is "fine dining" or 5 star, but it is flavorful and fresh. We spent a LOT of time in the Spa - delightful. There is a need to improve checking in. There was a lack of towels and robes/slippers and you were forced to ask for these, but the facilities are amazing. The hydro therapy is a bit overkill, but the private pool for spa guests is lovely with hammocks and comfy loungers around. I highly recommend Bernardo and Josefina for massage. My husband and I saw each of them on 3 occasions for deep tissue and Swedish massage and their are true professionals, trained excellently in their skills. I can't speak highly enough about this. I have had thousands of massages all over the world and Bernardo is top notch! My husband felt equally about Josefina! The rooms in the Kentenah are sparse and nothing to rave about. The bathroom had lovely amenities, but we had to keep asking for refills. The bed was not so great - very firm and the pillows are foam and very lack luster. But the A/C worked great and the small balcony (although not very private) was nice to watch the sunrise from each morning. Jungle views only and the music starts at the pools at 8am sharp. You walk a ways to a very small beach with loungers and palapas, but is gets very crowded early and is not very wide. But the water is luscious and when in the Yucatan, you MUST get in that water! We spent most of our sunning time by the pool at the White Sand and Kentenah has a large play area for children and it got a bit loud and crowded. White Sand has the best lobby bar as well. The selection of liquors is pretty mid-range, but you can pay to upgrade if so desired. We would finish the night there every day. We also saw the Bravo Show one night - fun, energetic and something to do, but the food was only so-so. Overall, this was an extremely enjoyable experience - the food, drinks, coffees, desserts, pleasant staff and lovely pools and grounds are so great. We would highly recommend it and the price was totally reasonable!! Loved it!!!

We went for a family trip . Staff friendly , most are bilingual . Some very helpful. Some bartenders not friendly . A lot of good food and drink choices, activities for all . A lot of walking . Long tram wait times and room service times. Buffets were good .
Spring break 2024

3.5 stars. Just returned from a week at the FS side. We had some great waiters and waitresses. Jorge at the Nest for breakfast and by the FS pool at lunch. Leo and Lizbet were also great by the FS pool. Maria the bartender at FS was awesome! We met some great couples with kids during our stay. Our kids would play all day giving the adults a little break. We have been to one other Palladium in Costa mujeres and other couples that had been to both also prefer that one over this one. Food was just average in my opinion. We never expect 5 star food at all inclusive but we have had better also. We stayed in a swim up suite which was nice. I wish they had ones that had an ocean view. Maybe those are coming? Multiple buildings lost power during the middle of the night on different nights. I woke up sweating at 4am and walked to the lobby to get no information on when it may come back on. By 5am it was back on. Multiple couples in different buildings also complained about the AC in their rooms. We had ours on high fan and as low as it would go and it never felt as cold as the thermostat said. It made for very poor sleep for us and our child. Though we had a good time, we will no return.
OUR FAVORITE PLACE TO STAY!

The staff cannot be beat, the rooms are excellent, food is amazing, the pools are spectacular, and the setting is beyond compare. We had wildlife visiting our balcony, a surprise birthday cake delivered to our room, scuba diving on site, beautiful grounds to wander, and golf cart transportation when you don't want to walk. The staff is amazing, they are all friendly and helpful, shout outs to Marcelino at the el Secreto pool, Henry at la Dahlia, and Angel on the shuttle! This was our 3rd trip to Grand Palladium and there will be more in the future!!
