Wonderful trip for a faily wedding

We had an amazing time at the Grand Palladium in Mexico. We weren't expecting to enjoy it as much - we would typically travel to an adults only place as our children are grown, but we went for a family wedding. The place was beautiful and the staff was over the top! The resort is staffed so well that we got so much attention from everyone. The bar tenders and wait staff and desk attendants and housekeeping were amazing. I want to specifically thank Hippolito at Portofinos and Emanuel, Jose (Alejandro) and Rosalie at La Hacienda. The food was way better than we expected as well. We ate at the buffets for breakfast and lunch and a couple of dinners. The fruit and vegetables were to fresh! They had stations to make fresh tacos, stir frys, omelets etc. It was very plentiful and very good. We also ate at Portofinos, El Dorado and the thai restaurant (I can't recall the name) and all were very good.

The Good - All of the staff were friendly and helpful! There were a number of options for dining, especially if you made reservations in advance with the concierge. You can make reservations for the day of and up to two days in advance. Access to the two neighboring resorts increases your dining and activity options and you can find a quick transport between resorts or walk. The spa was phenomenal. The massage therapist was excellent. I would recommend waiting to purchase services from a spa representative on the beach vs the front desk concierge. I will cost you about 1/3 the price. The food at Bahia e Brasa the Brazilian steakhouse was our favorite. The food was hot and fresh and we were each able to select the meat that was done the way we preferred. It was delicious, the best food we had while there. The food at the Argentinian steakhouse was our second favorite. The nightly entertainment at the Colonial was super fun. The live music, the silent party and the shows were all very entertaining The bad- Though our teen daughters loved Benito the monkey that roamed the restaurant (El Gran Azul) freely was frightening to some guests and was obviously used to jumping onto guest tables and chairs and helping himself to their food. I emailed the resort about a week before to request our rooms be on the same floor as we were 3 mothers and daughters traveling together. I received no response and by the time we arrived they were only able to accommodate us with the same villa but not the same floor. When I mentioned that I had emailed the resort prior to our arrival, the person checking us in was not phased. The ugly-There was an obstacle course at the pool that was closed the entire 4 days we were there. Everyday when we inquired about it, we were told it would open the next day. It was a blow up obstacle course so it should have been open or taken down instead of having the lifeguards aggressively blowing their whistles every time someone approached it. Finally the desserts. They were plentiful and pretty but the worst tasting thing on the resort. No matter which restaurant you ate at, the desserts were terrible. The cakes and cookies were dry and crumbly and anything that was supposed to be a mousse or cheesecake consistency was gelatinous instead. The only half way decent exceptions were the Gypsie's Arm at the Argentinian restaurant and the Tempura Ice Cream at the Sushi restaurant. Outside of that, desserts, no thanks!
Where Seaweed Reigns and Luxury Fades

Palladium White Sands in Rivera Maya… a place that could be a slice of paradise but sadly, it’s a tale of what could have been. Here’s my honest take on the good, the bad, and everything in between. The Good Bits: The Staff First up, the staff. They’re genuinely nice folks, doing their best to make your stay pleasant. It’s clear they’re fighting an uphill battle against the resort’s issues, but their warmth and efforts deserve a shoutout. The Letdowns: From Cleanliness to Bugs Walking into our room, the excitement took a nosedive. Dust ruled the surfaces, making a mockery of the ‘luxury’ tagline. And the design? Doors open to the great outdoors, which means you’re sharing your space with bugs – mosquitoes, gnats, flies, you name it. Housekeeping promises fell flat, too. Despite arranging specific times around our kids’ naps, our room saw a vacuum only after 8 pm. So much for requests. Food: A Culinary Misadventure The food… oh, where do I start? Imagine a 2/10 rating, then lower your expectations. Buffet fruits under siege by flies is a scene straight out of a horror movie. Room service? Think cold, sad meals that challenge your appetite. The restaurants fare a bit better, echoing the vibes of chains like Olive Garden or Red Lobster. Fine if you’re into that, but ‘fine dining’? Far from it. And with just one place open round the clock, hunger becomes an unwanted holiday companion. Sales Pitches & Seaweed Beaches Trying to relax? Brace yourself for the sales onslaught. Every 20 minutes, it’s a new pitch - photos, timeshare breakfasts, the works. Peaceful moments are rare. And the beaches – a symphony of seaweed over sand, with rocks aplenty. Though, if you trek to the Colonial section, you’ll find a decent spot for a swim. A Silver Lining? The upside? During spring break, the place is ghost-town quiet. No scramble for pool chairs here. But it’s a small consolation in the grand scheme. The Verdict Palladium White Sands could be incredible, but it’s a long shot from its current state. My advice? There are gems nearby that offer what this place promises – and actually deliver. Save yourself the headache.

We came to relax and celebrate our youngest turning 18 and graduating high school. We had a wonderful time. The bartenders in the lobby of white sands we awesome. The pool at the white sands was nice and quiet, our only complaint there was the giant inflatable obstacle course took up a majority of the pool and we weren’t allowed to use it. Lifeguard blew their whistle anytime anyone got one it.

such amazing food and great service would recommend loved it!!! Would definitely go back again. The food was a bit burnt in some places but still great and so flavorful. My favorites meat was definitely the New York steak so so good so juicy and tender.
