Hotel Punta Leona with all related properties, such as rooms/small houses, beaches, swimming pools, restaurants leaves a good impression. But people working over there make everything to improve that impression even more. Such a friendly, dedicated staff we didn't see in several hotels in Costa Rica, where we were staying during our last trip. Especially we're appreciated to David Bermudez from reception that was making everything to assist us with all questions from the very beginning to the end. Thank you very much David. God Bless you!

Beautiful beaches, good food, extremely friendly staff. Clean accommodations. But above all the wildlife and views in Costa Rica are to die for! If you stay at this resort please take the tours they have. They are led by a guide named Alex who was above and beyond knowledgeable about Costa Rica. He was very involved in our visit and gave us great pointers about local attractions. Plus there is so much wildlife! Monkeys, sloths, macaws, toucans, whales, coati’s, porcupines … Rent a vehicle - it's worth it and the roads are easy to navigate. This resort is great for active adults and children. Lots of walking! Snorkeling, surfing, tours, massages...! Our favorite server/bartender was Patricia. She was friendly and so sweet and worked hard to make our stay amazing. Tip 1: Bug spray is a must. They have a small grocery store on site with everything from bottled water and sunscreen to snacks and diapers. Tip 2: Tipping makes for a better trip. Tip 3: Get the all-inclusive package (all food and alcohol drinks are included). Tip 4: If you are going to the pool on the weekends, get there early. Tip 5: It rains hard every day around 3:30 - plan your activities early. Tip 6: I lived in old tennis shoes and water shoes for 9 days. Tip 7: By day 3 I no longer wore make up or did my hair. :-) It was pointless. We stayed for 9 days and will be back!

The place was nice Average and acceptable except. The optional all Inclusive. If you chose not to do all inclusive then you were not able to purchase and Drinks or food at the resort. You had to leave to get anything to drink or eat. we usually spend a couple of days hanging out at the resort, other days we site see and check out area. since you were not able to purchase any food or drinks from restaurant, or bar we decided not to spend any time there. Kind of dumb if you ask me. if they would let you pay for a drink and or food they would make additional money. But it ALL INCLUSIVE OR NOTHING. VERY BAD POLICY

I stayed at Punta Leona, although I was in a private home while my fellow travelers were in condos. I don't like huge resorts with nothing but tourists, and this one seemed to have a much higher population of locals. The resort is close to the beach, and we enjoyed the night hike (which was included with our stay) although the guide for the hike was a bit condescending and rude at times. Overall, our stay was great. Restaurants were good, and others in our group really enjoyed the pool. I actually traveled there in August of 2018 but don't have that option in the drop-down menu!

The room is small but it's clean and nice. There is one window that opens and it had a screen so you can choose to listen to the rainforest sounds if you want to. Air cond worked great. The pools are amazing!!!!! And the beach is great. Easy to walk to the beach from your room. There is an additional beach. You can walk to it at low tide. Otherwise there is a shuttle. There is a small group store in campus. Butterfly garden. The food is okay. Our dining hall was a bit chaotic. Hard to navigate. One bummer....I wish they provided coffee and milk before breakfast so we could enjoy outside. Staff very friendly.
