Great vacation in the newly renovated resort
Helen S on Mar 19, 2025
We just came back from an amazing week at the newly renovated Wyndham Alltra. The resort wasn't 100% open (one of the restaurants, the sports bar and the water park are still being worked on and due to a lower capacity the a la carte restaurants were open on rotation - 2 per night plus the buffet) but it didn't impact our stay at all. There was very little evidence of the ongoing renovation work (no noise/dust etc) and the areas we used were spotlessly clean and looked beautiful. The pool and grounds are so lovely (the pool never really felt busy and is long enough that one end had music playing with a DJ, the other end was more serene); the rooms (albeit a bit small) were nice; and the entertainment crew were fantastic (big shout out to Pedro & Rodrigo!). Most nights there was a live singer in the outside plaza, a show in the theatre then a disco or karaoke back in the plaza. If you're looking for a party place, this probably isn't it as the entertainment was finished by 11:30pm but we really enjoyed the evenings. During the day there was a lot to keep my teens occupied - beach & water volleyball, water polo, connect 4, table tennis. The beach was nice (not too much seaweed) but we spent most of our time at the pool as the only shade at the beach was from the palm trees - would be good for them to get some cabanas or palapas so you don't have to move your sun lounger around following the shade. We paid extra for the VIP/Club which TBH probably wasn't worth it for us. We were taken to the VIP check in (by golf cart) and given canopes and drinks while we were checked in which was nice. The other benefits were use of the Club Lounge, which we didn't really take advantage of, plus an a la carte breakfast and lunch at the beach side restaurant, which was really lovely but would have been better if the breakfast had been a buffet style breakfast. As the hotel was only at about 40% occupancy for most of our stay, the other benefit of Club that you got a separate area on the beach with waiter service wasn't really necessary for us (and they weren't checking room numbers) as there were plenty of sun loungers. Towards the end of our stay it was getting busier, so I'm sure that Club area on the beach will soon be set up. My only real negative was that the resort was meant to be a non-smoking resort, but it didn't seem like this was enforced or that people were paying attention to that. Overall we had a great stay and plan to come back next year.
Excellent place

5 stars wouldn’t be enough for the service my family and I received, from the moment we walked into the facility the lobby was jaw dropping from the structure, the staff not letting us lift a finger and bringing over drinks as soon as we sat down during the check in process. The food was amazing along with the entertainment throughout the day it really gave us something to look forward to after laying out at the beach all day. The managers introduced themselves and made it be known if anything was needed they would accommodate immediately. My family and I will definitely be returning for many more days on the beach and to stay at this lovely hotel
Off to a good start!

Despite of recent opening from a massive renovation, we had a great time thanks to the effort of all employees, notably Junior (sommelier) and Diocedy y Milciade who made our breakfast more cheerful. We look forward to returning next year when the Water Park and other restaurants will be open. Congratulations to all!
The Best Vacation Spot Ever

We just returned from the most amazing vacation ever. If you like a personal touch from staff this is the place for you. From the moment we arrived, on the second day they were open, until the moment we left this place felt like home. We were greeted by Luigi at the front desk who was wonderful and while he was getting things ready for us he invited us to take a seat so I went to the lobby bar for a couple of drinks and was greeted by Pedro. Pedro made our vacation. He is the best. Happy to see you energetic and just an all round great guy. And very good at what he does. We decided to take advantage of Aurora Spa after our travels and again we were not disappointed. The staff are friendly and professional and do an amazing job. The restaurants and buffet are second to none. They have something for everyone and the food is amazing. The staff at the restaurants are also very good and if you are lucky enough to be seated in John’s section in Vantana’s buffet you will not wait for anything he is very attentive and always at your beck and call. Since this resort has only just been opened by Wyndham any reviews that are made before March please read with caution because they do not tell the story of this amazing place. It is truly 5 star all the way.
Must stay resort in Punta Cana

This was the most amazing all inclusive resort we have stayed at. It had only reopened 2 days before our arrival, but felt like they had been open for years. The grounds and buildings are extremely well maintained and beautiful. The staff are utterly amazing and are so friendly. Several members of the staff absolutely made our stay memorable. They treat you like family. The food was amazing in all of the restaurants and the buffet in Ventanas will not disappoint either. The little coffee shop, "Drips", under the stairs on the mainfloor by the theatre was perfect. Great hours, great food and coffee, but it was the staff that will always have a smile and go out of their way to ensure yo are happy. Any review before March 4, 2025 should be taken cautiously, as that was all under the old management and name. The new Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana should be on your bucket list of places to see.
