10/10 Service and Cuisine
Brandon M on Oct 05, 2024
Preface: Best Japanese we’ve ever had and 10/10 service with host/waitress Shirneal and chef Myers. Not sure this is the proper place to submit this particular review of the Sandals (La Toc) restaurant, Kimonos, but I have to brag on the staff, service, and the quality of meal we experienced. We have been to all of the restaurants that required reservations and/or formal attire and we had the single best dining experience and the best Japanese food of our lives at this restaurant. Everyone at our grill has the same comments. To the chef and staff: Thank you for the best dinner experience and Japanese cuisine that my wife and I have ever had.
Beautiful Stay at Sandals St. Lucia
Amberks01 (Watertown, Wisconsin) on Oct 05, 2024
We just arrived home from an eight day stay at Sandals St. Lucia La Toc. Upon arrival we found out we were on the same plane as the St. Lucian Olympic gold medalist. What an honor for us to be see the island of St. Lucia welcome her home! We didn't check a bag and were in and out of customs- super fast! The airport is small, but they get you in and out fast. We arrived at the sandals lounge and were on our way to our resort. The ride is around 1 hour 10 mins. We had read beforehand that the car ride can make you car sick. We have been to Jamaica Southcoast several times, and this reminded us a lot of the same drive. However, our driver to the resort explained he would drive nicely to ensure we didn't get car sick and stopped several times so we could take pictures and see the island. We arrived at the resort with no issues. We had a room in the large building behind the buildings that surrounded the pool. We were on the 7th floor. So, we had a view of the ocean. It was very interesting that there wasn't a balcony. Which we knew beforehand. But it was just two sliding doors you could open to enjoy the breeze. It was just very different, and, in a way, we wished we had a balcony. Food at all the restaurants was amazing. I see people complain about this- which always baffles me. Some of our favorite meals were from Kimonos, Pitons, and the dessert at Neptunes & Cricketers. The resort layout does take some getting used to, as it does sit on part of a cliff and the resort is spread out. We were told we would need to use the shuttle to get to three of the restaurants on top of the cliff, but after taking the shuttle we ended up walking just fine- to and from those restaurants. However, if you have trouble walking i can see where the shuttle would come in handy. The pool area is very nice and big- it also has a section that has a waterfall. There is also a quiet pool and another pool up on the hill- but we didn't visit either of them while on our stay. We enjoyed the Piton beer and the selection of alcoholic beverages. **Side note- each restaurant has a signature drink, ask each of them when you sit down what it is. The beach is pretty and the water is nice- we were able to snorkel on the side where the cliff was and saw lots of fish. The water can get rough and two out of the 8 days we were there- there was red flags up stating we could not swim in the ocean. We did the Land & Sea Excursion- I believe Sandals partners with the company "Carnival Cruises" as the tour guide, we had- had a t-shirt on that said that. We had Randy from Carnival Cruises, and he was AMAZING! If you can ask what day Randy is working. He WAS very knowledgeable and kept us on task and was very good with directions for each of the places. He also took our pictures at all the locations. I think this excursion was the best value for your money AND if you have Randy, it is just an added bonus. Our vacation was very memorable due to us meeting a very special employee, Shanita, who works at the Cricketers Pub. The 2nd night we were there we stopped to get wings before heading to bed and we met Shanita. Her kindness, grace, and amazing hospitality really struck us. After talking to her throughout the night while she was helping other customers, she spoke so highly of how much she wanted to move up in the Sandals company. Sandals- if i could id hire Shanita (and coming from someone who does own their own business) in a heartbeat. I know i could trust her, her ambition and drive are something any employer would be honored to have working for them. Sandals you have a real gem here and i hope someday i can visit Sandals La Toc or maybe even another Sandals and see her as a manager or even more! She has the manager qualities and deserves nothing but the best. And i know she will work hard and eager to learn even more. We visited Shanita every night to say hi the rest of the time we were there. When i think of St. Lucia i will always think of Shanita. Thank you for making our vacation memorable. My only complaint is our shuttle ride to the airport was rough. The driver acted like we were on a roller-coaster ride. Speeding around corners, speeding up and then coming to a complete stop. Jerking left and right. 3 mins from the airport i ended up getting sick. The driver seemed annoyed and not very understanding. And i will say two others also felt sick as well. I didn't understand the rush to get to the airport as we were there before the gates even opened and we had plenty of time. As tourists we are not used to the roads so all i am saying is that in the future, please have shuttle drivers use caution when driving due to the possibility of people getting car sick. It just wasn't the best way to end our vacation.

Perfect honeymoon getaway
Justin H on Oct 03, 2024
For my wife and I, this place was everything we ever wanted for a honeymoon. We booked a room in the "sunset bluff" with the butler experience. So our stay was a bit pricier than the normal experience but I HIGHLY recommend the butler experience. They make everything exceptionally easy for you. We had Titus, Darnelle and Delina as our 3 butlers and they were all exceptional. They provide you with a phone that is a direct line to the butler that is on call at that moment. You could call them with questions, a request to shuttle you around, room service orders to be delivered to you anywhere on the resort, a cooler full of beer and water, and much more. I will say the best part of the butler experience is that they can help plan your dinner reservations for you (or with you). With a normal stay, you would have to go to the dining concierge in the main lobby to request a reservation to eat at any of the restaurants (which are all amazing btw). With the butler service, they can make the reservation for you and it can be changed to any other restaurant with a simple phone call. I don't know if this applies to the french or hibachi restaurant though. They also go above and beyond with walking you to your table, getting you your first drink and placing a napkin across your lap. Even though the 3 butlers all had different shifts, they would each know exactly what we told the others the day before. If we wanted to reserve some pool chairs, they would communicate it to each other perfectly. The food at every restaurant was amazing! Even at the buffet ("Pavilion") the food was good. Our personal favorite was the Piton restaurant. Specifically the lamb chops. Every dining experience was really good at La Toc. We never had to wait too long on any food and the portion sizes were perfect. Every waiter/waitress was always accommodating if we wanted a change to food. The views at the sunset bluff location were picturesque every single day. Each morning waking up to the beautiful view of the ocean and bright blue sky was very nice. And then when getting ready for dinner we would have the perfecct view of the sunset. We could not have gotten a better room for the price. We did hear some people complaining that some pool chairs were hard to reserve on the main pool deck, but the staff made it clear to us that it is a first come first server rule at the main pool. Not even butlers can reserve chairs there. The butlers can walk with you and find a seat with you, but they cannot reserve it the night before. Some people I guess were not privy to that rule and raised some complaints, but not us. We understood and didn't mind. Everyone has their right to the chairs so you have to be quick to get them. If you dont get one at the main pool, there are 2 other pools. Also a fair warning, it is a public beach so locals can wander onto it. Usually they don't wander onto the beach if sandals employees are out there. But later in the evening they can try to hassle you about miscellaneous things. Overall, absolutely no complaints from us. The experience from housekeeping to the excursions were all amazing. I loved our butlers and everyone on the whole staff was amazing!!
10/10 honeymoon

My new husband and I just got back from our honeymoon at Sandals Regency La Toc and absolutely could not be happier with our experience!! The resort was beautiful and well kept. We made sure to eat at every single restaurant and did not have a single complaint about one! What stood out most to us were all of the wonderful staff. Every single staff we interacted with during our stay was friendly, kind and mindful. We have a few personal shout outs to some staff members we’d like to share: Charles was every honeymooners dream. He was outgoing, personable, funny, extremely attentive. You could really tell he truly loved his job and loved brightening people’s day. We could not say enough good things about this man, our trip would not have been nearly as enjoyable without him! We also wanted to shout out Jean Claud who put on an amazing performance at our hibachi night dinner! Funny and talented! John and Leevon were amazing bartenders, we really loved hanging by the bar with them daily. We really could not say enough good things about this place and these people!
