We stayed the end off June We had booked another hotel as we got married there 20 years ago and wanted to renew our wedding vows but it had such negative trip advisor reviews so we decided to change hotels to ocean point, thankfully we did what a lovely little place. We visited previous hotel for the day and couldn’t wait to get back to ocean point Pool good food good staff good the 2 beaches are good apart from the weed but enough water to have a paddle but if you need more you have enough choices around the island Rooms clean and tidy yes a little dated but you are not paying 5* prices and are not in the rooms much we had hot water some days we had our room cleaned twice!!! Thank you Claudia for organising our wedding renewal it was very special If anyone wants to get a taxi use treddy outside the hotel a great man and very funny We also went to prickly pear island with Terrance lovely fella great value it was $100 each unlimited drinks and lunch we had the island to ourselves Met some amazing guests there mixed nationalities all very friendly and lots off giggles by the pool This was my 6th time visiting Antigua and if I’m ever returning to Antigua I would defiantly stay at ocean point such great value for money xxx

Stayed here for just over a week and the hotel has its good points and bad. The staff are its best asset and only too willing to help if asked. Being a short distance from the airport a taxi ride from the airport is $13 so transfers need not be pre booked. Don't do it as you will save cash. The hotel is arranged over 3 floors and I would recommend a room in 305, 306,307,308 or 309 if you want a good sea view. People with mobility issues might struggle here as there are no lifts in the hotel and there are a fair amount of steps. The hotel is positioned on 2 small sandy beaches and is a major asset. One bar serves the 60 bedroom Italian owned hotel and you don't wait too long to be served by the cheery staff. All the hotel bedrooms have air conditioning which is welcome in the blazing heat . A large bed easily accommodating 2 adults. and a balcony .A hairdryer is supplied. The hotel in general is relaxing as its adults only. There are a few points which in my opinion need addressed which would help make this more appealing. The thermostatic shower valves need looked at as they decide to change temperature from hot to cold and vice versa. Some of the room towels need replaced as they are thread bare . Lighting in pool needs addressed as some of them just don't work. Sunbeds and parasols of different heritage looks just naff. Food area is the biggest concern with owners dogs allowed in to the restaurant which is a big no no. Food was often just tepid and choice limited.

Visited at beginning of June and with some mixed reviews was a bit apprehensive.Arrived at reception and promptly checked in and taken to our room. No lift if your unsteady on your feet. Our room was on the first floor and was clean and tidy. Furniture a bit strange as its the first time our biggest space for storage was in the style of a bookcase. Sufficient hanging space and Electronic safe. Bathroom was cramped and some sharp edging in tiles. However again clean and tidy. Another strange edition was a full Fridge/Freezer unit in our All Inclusive room. Very noisy just to store a bottle or 2 of water. Had to turn it off every night after the first night as the noise just kept us awake. Overall the room whilst clean and tidy was a bit dated. Style might be described as Shabby/Chic but is in danger of being more shabby if left unmanaged. Pool area was fine and there are 2 beach areas for guests. We never had any difficulty getting a sunbed although there are not a lot of brollies. There is however a large covered area with couches for shade but its not really the same. We were there in what seemed to be a quiet time so dont know how it would fare when its peak season. Towels provided. Dinning was in a covered area but with open vista to the sea. Very pleasant. All Inclusive and A La Carte guests use the same restuarant with a small area for A La Carte guests. Seen many comments before travelling about food being mostly Pasta. Have to disagree. Straight to the point here, the food is wonderful, passionately put together by Exec Chef, Head Chef and all the local chefs. Full of flavour and beautifully presented. Yes there is a lot of Italian influence in this Hotel with all the dept Heads being Italian, with possible exceptions. Yes there is pasta every day but not the usual poor quality we are used to in UK but proper pasta and flavoursome sauces. Im not a fish eater but being a small Island you should expect a daily fish dish. Still plenty of lovely meat dishes for the non fish or past eaters. Service throughout is excellent and friendly. But here's my next gripe. Not once did we have after dinner cheese or any Gelato as a sweet course although Gelato was certainly on the A La Carte Menu. The Bar was open daily from 10am and we had 2 great entertainment nights from very talented musicians. Bravo there. Bar is well stocked and again the service is prompt and friendly but again with the caveat that we were there in a quiet period. Bar is well stocked with lots of International Brands and varieties of drinks. Here's my next gripe. All Inclusive alcoholic drinks were from local brands and with the choice of Vodka, Rum, Gin, Whisky and all Cocktails derived from those choices. Quality was less than great and again unless you pay you can't have an after dinner Brandy with your coffee, which Im very fond of and have managed at every other all inclusive weve been to.After dinner Cheese, Coffee and Brandy are a must for me and cocktails of quality. This was very much a negative point for me. Would I recommend this hotel? Yes there are many more positives than negatives but its certainly not perfect. Big highs for me were the people who work there and the quality of the food, even with my missing favourites.

Pros: The room The view The pasta Some staff. Cons: Upon check in we were barely acknowledged. No hello, I walked over and helped myself to the rum punch. Then with bags in hand, we approached the check in employee who seemed to wonder what she could help us with. The resort is dated and in need of some tlc. The beaches are tiny. One is full of vegetation and the other rocky. The food is always cold except the pasta which is made to order. The drinks for the all inclusive package are very limited. The afternoon snack is bland pizza and stale cookies every single afternoon, unless you’re willing to pay for a snack at the bar grill. Staff during dinner service that are required to remove plates or offer you a drink are harder to find than a Sasquatch. ( Ok an exaggeration but they seem to have little motivation. ) They offer little in the way of excursions, so planning the excursion of your choice is on you with the help of staff making phone calls. There are few amenities in or around the resort. If need anything it’s an $80 USD round trip cab ride into town. I do not recommend this resort. Don’t waste your money.

Absolutely glorious! No children running around. Fantastic food provided by the Italian owners. Ample-stocked bar with no queues. A thoroughly relaxing 10 days during April. We walked to Jaberwock bay, just 15 minutes away where the waves are superb - excellent if you like kite surfing as there is also a Kite Surf Club where you can get tuition.
