Hotel Needs An Update

FranP1216 (Wantagh, New York) on Apr 13, 2024

Just returned from Pineapple Beach Club, all-inclusive resort. This place needs a refreshing. From what other people said during our stay, we stayed in building #10 which has been updated. However, the room could use a painting and/or good cleaning. The bed was soft, the bed linens thin. The batting in the blanket was in clumps! People said other buildings were terrible. Our room faced the beach, was next to the infinity pool, bars and coffee shop. So location was great. The restaurants need help. The night we ate at the Italian restaurant, no Italian food was served! We wound up eating pasta in the daily buffet. Because that dining area is open, the birds are constantly flying around during breakfast & lunch. If you leave your table, you have to cover your food-otherwise the birds fly over and start eating from your dish. The hostess seats you at a different table for each meal. You never have the same server so there’s no chance for the server to know you or vice versa. We ate at the Pineapple Grill one night. The portions were so small it was ridiculous! Another night we went to The Verandah, a sister-hotel & ate at Sails & Tails. It was delicious- best meal we had there. I should preface this by saying I’ve been at other all-inclusives and had better experiences. In summary, this place needs a re-do and the staff could be a little warmer.

We’d go back but our expectations are now managed as to what to expect.

Welcome was not 5 star treatment. Staff were overwhelmed and under staffed. Rooms were very dated! Maid service was not guaranteed every two days. Refrigerator was not stocked. They wanted $65 to stock it of items that otherwise were FREE to us. Not all staff were hospitality oriented. A lot were but more than a few weren’t. Bartenders were reluctant to fill insulated mugs with ice. Water was only available in bars and restaurants. We had to carry water back to the room in glasses at night. Adult beverages were fine. Beach was great! Snorkeling was great. Sea turtles and all kinds of reef fish were observed! Reservations at special restaurants were problematic. Long lines.
