my review and impressions of my stay at the Playa Maroma This was a wonderful stay for my birthday week. I was spoiled on my birthday by the special attention from the staff. The food in the Terrace was lacking flavor and needs improvement Every other restaurant was wonderful.

This was our third visit to this resort, last one being 2013. We were blown away with all of the improvements. The little, chaotic snack shack on the beach is now 4 different dining options. We loved them all, but you can have filet mignon every night if you want to. Buffet has something for everyone, good quality and I loved the cerviche at the Mexican as well. Lots of fresh options. Upgrade to Privileged, you won’t regret it. And, I must say service EVERWHERE was great. The coffee shop, taco truck and hotdog truck were snack options and open at 10. So if you missed breakfast, you have a gap filler. Beach was beautiful and beach service?? Anibal and Enrique always made sure your glass was full. I have paid way more for resorts that brag on beach service, but hands down, these guys were great. My only complaint was your beach volleyball set up. We were a group of 8 who love the sport. The net was sagging so far it was about a foot off the ground. That can be dangerous as men spiking the ball in your face is not pleasant. Our group found rope that washed ashore, climbed the poles, and brought the net to the appropriate height. The staff as well as other guests said that’s the best the net has looked in a long time. Hopefully, it will stay that way for awhile. So Catalonia, please maintain your equipment ??. Would I go back? Absolutely! We could not have picked a better resort to show our friends what all-inclusive is all about.

Really enjoyed this place. One of the best beaches in Mexico, Only about 30 minutes from the airport. The Bloved resturant was great, we had an awesome meal. The buffet always had good food, Breakfast, lunch and dinner. The walkway from the lobby to the Beach, was very nice, had Zen music playing all the way and lots a wildlife to see. The beach is amazing, all sand, We lucked out and had no seaweed ! Palm trees for shade, we loved it. Service at the Bars and restaurant were always good. Our rooms were kept clean and of course always enjoy the art they will make out of the towels. The rooms could use some hooks and shelves for store things and need a place to hang clothes to dry. We will be returning again soon!!

I like almost everything about this hotel. Mexican style villas with very clean rooms, amazing nature and gardens. The tropical forest with all of the animals, and jungle style music playing on the background is amazing!.Every corner has something to look at. Food was good. “Be loved” restaurant the best. Grill terrible, not worth the wait, but all other restaurants and even buffet are great. Very good service, friendly staff. One of the best beaches in Mexico with lots of palms and shade areas. My only one complaint would be the AC, it’s very noisy and need an upgrade.

    Wonderful except for the mosquitoes!

A wonderful 2 week family holiday with our children aged 2 and 5. Our room was clean, spacious and we loved the comfy bed and pillows. The hotel is spotless and has a gorgeous pool and beach location. The sand is very white and powder like. During our stay they were no issues with seaweed. We got up early to see the beautiful sunrise on the beach and it was a real highlight of our holiday. We enjoyed the food and our favourites were the Mexican and the Japanese. The buffet was always good. Special thanks to Margarita who made my breakfast omelette every day. Delicious! We found the staff really friendly and helpful. The only thing thing that was an issue for us was the number of mosquitoes. Despite repellants and precautions our whole family including the children were badly bitten every day. Guess this is due to the time of year as whilst on a trip and talking to others it seems mosquitoes were an issue in all of the hotels in the area. Another thing worth noting if you want to leave the hotel - taxis are expensive. The cost of the trips were also more than we expected. We visited Playa Del Carmen on a couple of occasions as well as Chichen Itza, Cozumel and beaches around Talum. Enjoyed and would recommend but be prepared for the cost!
