    Great Covid Retreat

    We stayed July 27-31 in a Privileged room 6321 facing the beach with a private swimming pool. Enrique and the bar/restaurant staff provided top-notch service that made this stay very enjoyable. The beach was full of seaweed/sargassum and patches of seaweed can be seen on the surface of the water. Daily efforts were made to clean the beach. Wifi reaches the beach chair area!! Nightly dance party 9-11 PM. The restaurants provide great service – be sure to make dinner reservations immediately upon arrival – we missed the Spanish restaurant on our first night. There is no buffet service – so be sure to order multiple dishes at every meal. The Italian restaurant food (steak and fish) could be better. Entertainment was provided during the day (water aerobics and volleyball). Room service was faster than expected – 30 minutes or less. The use of the Spa was enjoyable and relaxing. Minor issues with this all-inclusive: no peep holes in the rooms, use of Dometic RH141D refrigerators in the rooms that does not get 40 degrees cold (These refrigerators are typically used in RV’s – careful if you have medicine or are a nursing mom), constant up-sell for expensive lobster - $50 USD pp or couples dinners - $150 USD and wine (no timeshare presentation - Exclusive membership is quite expensive), smoke detectors constantly beeping, A/C issues towards the end of the week possibly due to faulty sliding door sensors. Alcohol service starts at 11 AM. Thu morning there was a wait for Beloved restaurant. Bring your own drinking straws. On-site stores are expensive - i.e $20 USD for sunscreen. There are no elevators and long walks from room to restaurants. One ice machine on ground level. Dress code for most meals, no snacks outside restaurant. Never asked about theater shows.

    This is a fantastic place. What I loved about this most is that you can take tours (very affordable) right from the private beach. At other all inclusive properties you have to book with other companies - but here you can rent a kayak, a catamaran, take a snorkel trip. Its amazing. Some of our fondest memories were not from the expensive whale shark tour but from the simple one hour catamaran tour right from the beach...its a good hotel with great service - TIP THE EMPLOYEES PLEASE - And I enjoyed our stay. No problems.

    It was GREAT to get away but I would NOT recommend the resort to others. Few reasons—unless you are traveling with children, I would not go to a resort that allows children again—lots of getting splashed in the pool etc. Lots of bugs—I have never been bitten so many times while in Mexico before. I’m sure just due to Covid and low occupancy but only 2 restaurants were opened each night, lunch and breakfast were just Ok and not much options for snacks during the day. No top shelf alcohol—only time share members got the good stuff and it was still pretty limited. Bed sheets smelled like mildew and there was a sewage smell frequently throughout the resort. Most of their stores were not opened or you had to walk clear to the front to get someone to open them for you. Rooms were nice but small—esp the bathroom—not at all what I’m use too. Service was good. Not much for entertainment—had a DJ that played music at night. They allowed day passes so on Sat and Sun there was a bunch of younger “adults” there getting wasted—one puked right by the swim up bar. We had fun but just not the experience I am use to nor want to have again! ??

    Want to return and get the whole experience without Covid precautions!

    Want to go back when there is not Covid and everything can be open. We loved it all, food and service was great. My only suggestion is to provide guests with a daily schedule so we would have known what was or wasn’t going to be open the next day. That was a little frustrating. We did a snorkeling excursion during our stay and it was awesome, would highly recommend.

    This is the best trip ever everyone was Amazing the staff at the Hotel are Awesome!! Highly recommend this hotel I went during COVID-19 but still things were great the best animation team ever, very good food and drink it’s better with the privilege bracelet
