First time in Hawaii

This was my first time traveling alone, but everyone was so friendly they felt like family. I slept so well the beds were so comfortable l. I was there in business but I was able to relax so much it felt like a vacation.
Horrible experience

We booked this hotel months ago, and were extremely excited for this experience. Upon checking in, we were assigned the closest room to the outdoor pool, that has blasting music from 8am-midnight. For a “relaxing vacation” this is not it. I asked the front desk if a room change was available, and I was told I could not change my room as the hotel was “full but you can try again tomorrow to see if anything has changed”. Upon looking at the booking website, it does indicate that rooms are still available. It is extremely difficult to relax when music is blasting 10 feet from our room at nearly all times of the day and night. For the cost of this hotel, I would not recommend.
Not a happy camper :( and I am not a complicated person.

I am not a complicated person and I always try to edify everyone and everything but this time I do want to share so no one gets caught by surprise. We had called prior to our arrival and was told $40 per day daily parking fee and ended up being more at check in. Also, what is the resort fee for? I did not see the value for this daily fee at all. Twice we showed up to the feeding fish at the tank event on the calendar and no staff showed up. This was more like a hotel period. Also, one time when we wanted to use the pool, we couldn’t even go in because of a private event, so that was disappointing. We paid to stay there plus resort fees and could not utilize that amenity. Another time, we had brought food to the deck/pool area and were rushed by two employees to hurry up and finish because their restaurant was about to open up. One of their exact words were “if I were you, I’d hurry up and scarf down your food because we are about to open”. As guests that paid a whole lot of money to stay here, that did not make us feel welcomed at all. Housekeeping is every two days. On one of the days that we were supposed to get our room cleaned, no one had showed up. When my husband called to ask if we could get housekeeping, the staff gave him an attitude. It is beautiful hotel and great location in the heart of Waikiki but it is NOT beach front. It is located across the street from the public beach.
5 day stay!

My stay at the alohilani was amazing!! My partner and I had a blast. The only Reason I’m giving it a 4 start is because the bathroom was so tiny and there was a weird Stan on one of the beds that we noticed. BUT, overall i would highly recommend. Right next to the beach, friendly staff, great dining options, the swell pool bar was my favorite. You won’t be disappointed.
High end resort, great location

My first time to Waikiki was perfect and a direct result of staying at the alohilani resort. It was a five star experience, I recommend the longboard meal plan that has a great value; however, you will need to have a few meals off sight to experience a greater variety of foods. The tennis court, fitness centre, beach candy, and fitness classes were a standout that made the overall experience elite. The ocean view room really added to the atmosphere and the staff were very friendly and helpful everywhere we went. The only downsize was the small bathrooms for a family of four needed some patience in the morning.
