Spent 9 nights at this property arriving in late March in room with Diamond Head ocean views. You cannot beat the location or the view. Hotel has been recently updated including the guest rooms which were a nice size. Housekeeping was provided every day if requested. Due to COVID, lots of precautions in place and never felt unsafe. Most people were masked up and all staff were very friendly. Bracelets given as keys which were waterproof too. Rules in place at the pool where you book a two hour block every day. Never had an issue getting a two hour block at the adults only infinity pool. They did have service at the pool – drinks and food – that could be ordered and delivered to you. The breakfast spot had just re-opened while we were there. Other option was the Honolulu Coffee shop in the lobby which was often crowded in the morning and thus slow due to the crowds which seemed to grow everyday during our stay – great to see for the Hawaiian economy – but not great when you wanted your Hawaiian latte and banana bread in the AM. You can walk to so many restaurants in the area. Recommend making any reservations in advance since some places are still only take out or else reduced capacity. Also about 100 ABC Stores in a one mile radius for snacks and beverages and souvenirs. One con was the beach access. Your only option for the beach was to take towels and find a spot on the public beach. Wish they offered a beach service like the Royal Hawaiian next door. Was truly a memorable stay in paradise.

My hubby and I chose the Sheraton for its location, infinity pool, remodeled rooms, and the water slide. I am 100% glad we chose it! It’s very centrally located to walk to most restaurants and shops. The infinity pool is even bigger than it appears in pictures, isn’t crowded, and provides a wonderful respite for adults on Waikiki Beach. There are plenty of complimentary lounge chairs for guests. If you want a paid one, be sure to book before you come because they book up in advance! The shops at the hotel are fun. Rumfire’s food and drinks are terribly over-priced, but the poolside delivery and quality of food are worth it. Go for the Deluxe Oceanfront Room; the views of the ocean, Diamond Head, and Waikiki Beach are spectacular! Request a room with a corner lounger on the balcony; it’s so comfy I even fell asleep on it! The customer service is fantastic; I’m recovering from an injury and surgery, and they have gone above and beyond to ensure a wonderful stay for me! The elevators are efficient and plentiful. There hasn’t been a wait for anything. Covid is taken seriously in the ways I would want but has not impeded our vacation experience, just the right balance.

After eating at one of their restaurants, all restrooms were closed so we went to the front desk to ask for access. Brain proceeded to tell us that since we weren’t guests of the hotel we couldn’t use the restroom, even though we ate at a restaurant on the property. He called Julio from security and he was extremely rude and unhelpful. Brian then said because they want to keep homeless people out, he can’t open the restroom. How do paying customers or a restaurant on the property get told they can’t use the restroom because of homeless people? Will never come back here and Brian’s rude self needs to be let go

    Pleasantly Surprised

We have stayed at several hotels in the area and decided to try Sheraton this time. Family of 4 (8 & 10) so was a little worried about the room sizes compared to other properties such as the Hilton Lagoon tower. As a platinum member I never get upgraded; however, this time I asked if we could pay for an upgrade and the receptionist kindly upgraded us to a “family” suite which included a larger room with (3) double beds after the first night. It made such a big difference and i would highly recommend this room for a family. The property felt very busy, but i was told the first 12 floors are still empty primarily due to a staff shortage (something about the cleaning staff not wanting to come back). Covid certainly created some challenges with long lines and certain things not being fully operational. Part of the reason we chose this hotel over The Royal Hawaiian and others was i thought the kids would enjoy the pool. Needless to say the kids never stepped foot in the pool as it was super cold and they much preferred the beach/ocean. Our friends had a suite at the Royal Hawaiian and the room looked and felt extremely dated. I would book the Sheraton again over the Royal Hawaiian. The beach was extremely packed....like shoulder to shoulder and ppl sitting directly next to one another. I would highly recommend booking beach chairs far in advance as they are limited on how many they can rent. I believe the restaurants on-site had limited items on the menu but service was quick at breakfast and for to go orders at the main restaurant. We ate dinners off property each night and looking back we should have done the same for breakfast (not impressed at all). You cant go wrong here. The location is perfect and you know what you are getting with a Sheraton property. Nothing over the top special, but no issues either. Lastly, book a car far in advance!!! Due to lack of inventory rates have sky rocketed and Uber is super surging ($140 from the hotel to the airport).

*Just returned from a 10 night stay at the Sheraton. 2nd time staying here (this time in a newly renovated room) and we had an incredible time. Arrived in Oahu earlier than expected and was able to check in at noon. Corrine at the front desk was so helpful booking resort activities for us and getting us additional bags of eggs for the sold out Easter egg hunt event. The room assigned to us is a higher floor, OCEAN FRONT room on the 24th floor. If you are able, book the ocean front! Non obstructed ocean view!!! We kept the balcony door open all night to listen to the ocean waves. There's a lounge and side chair with table in the balcony. Yes, the room with 2 double beds is small for a family of 4 but we knew that from reading the website room descriptions. However, the room was clean. Smaller bathroom vanity with a separate makeup area, toilet with washlet, and hand shower with very good water pressure. Staff was professional and explained the new regulations. Everyone wore masks. We didn't request maid service but our room got cleaned 3x during our stay. Noise from neighbors and outside was minimal. Only had 1 night where our next door neighbor played loud music and partied until midnight. They only stayed 1 night. 2 refillable canteens in your room for water. Mini frig, safe but no microwave in room. Great sunset views from hotel beach. TIPS: 1) Parking: we were able to find free street parking along Ala Wai Canal for 11 days so try there first before you decide to pay for garage parking $35 2) Pool: You can make a reservation a day prior. Even if you forget, there's plenty of chairs available. And you don't need to reserve a chair to use the pool. Chairs are sprayed and sanitized in between reserved time slots 3) Make reservations online ASAP for the resort activities. They fill up fast! *See pictures for times 4) restaurants: We didn't eat at the Sheraton so can't comment. No more happy hour at Rumfire :( There are so many restaurants within walking distance to the hotel - Royal Hawaiian has plenty of restaurants (Tsurutontan udon has happy hour prices all day and great lunch specials, Marugame is a 10 min walk, musubi Iyasume is a 5 min walk, etc.) STAY here! It's at the end of the strip. Close to everything yet away from the noisy streets. We had a hard time leaving :( Can't wait to return soon.
