We stayed at Planet Hollywood from June 18-25, and can confidently say that this was one of our favourite vacations.. Let me start by saying that the upgrade is totally worth it. We had our own personal agent, who went above and beyond to ensure that we were always taken care of. Henry, thank you for enhancing our experience and making yourself available to us at all hours of the day. He took care of our dinner reservations, and even came to collect our dishes after ordering room service. We encountered a minor issue while ordering our food to go from the OT Sports Bar, and Henry was quick to resolve the issue. He was willing to accommodate our every need, even when it meant a task outside of his job description. Additional Star Class Benefits: - A premium bar, and access to top shelf liquor (which is NOT available to non members, anywhere else on the resort; - An exclusive pool, which is conveniently located next to the Bar; - Alternative options on the Room Service Menu; - Preferred drinks in your Room (stocked daily), and a select bottle of liquor; - Access to the Spa for one hour per day. - Etc. The Staff: - Vinicio from the Star Class Bar -Planet Hollywood is lucky to have such a dedicated individual, who truly understands the importance of providing quality service. Vinicio’s work ethic is unmatched; he invests a great deal of time and energy to ensure that his customers are satisfied. He is a kind soul, who always greets his guests with a smile. Vinicio - Thank you for making our time at Planet Hollywood memorable. I will miss you! - Maria from the So Cal Emporium; very personable, and friendly. She remembered our names after a single introduction. - Jason from the Main Pool was always willing to pour us another shot, regardless of how many times we asked. Always very sweet, and helpful. - Rony - Lovely! Great service, and treats his customers with the utmost respect. * Everyone was extremely accommodating during our stay - I apologize for any names I may have missed. Day Trips: 1. We went on two excursions. On Friday, we took a water taxi to Coco Beach. It’s approximately 30 minutes from the Resort, and cost $60 USD for a round trip ($30 per person). We enjoyed it, but would bring more money with us in the future. There are various bars, restaurants and souvenir shops. We always purchase a magnet and/or shot glass, and it was reasonably priced.. We chose not to buy ours from the Resort, as it was a little expensive. 2. On our last day in Costa Rica, we booked a nine hour tour to Vida Adventura Park, which included the following: - Horseback Riding through the Guanacaste Mountains; - Seven zip line cables; - Thermal Hot Springs and Mud Bath; - Miniature man made water slide and cold water pool. Along the way, our guide (Willy) also stopped at a beautiful waterfall in Liberia, where we had an opportunity to snap a few photos while swimming. The Miravalles Volcano is also within viewing distance, and well worth stopping for a picture. A piece of advice... PH Experiences sold a similar tour for $200.00 a piece! That’s nearly $530 CAD. I found it online for $348.00, and there were probably cheaper options available. I would recommend you check the web first - it could save you a ton of money! Entertainment: The Foam Party was a blast. Giant beach balls, a live DJ, and other on-site entertainment. Typically happens on Saturday afternoons - you can’t miss it! A different movie is played every night in the hotel lobby. We didn’t take advantage of this, but what a great idea - especially on a rainy night. Food: 1. Guys Burger Joint - Delicious! It gets busy at lunchtime, but is well worth the wait. The chicken tenders are incredible, but you can’t go wrong with a burger either. 2. Sunset Strip - The Steakhouse was awesome, but portions are SMALL. Make sure you order an appetizer, or plan to hit up the buffet beforehand. I had the New York Strip and my boyfriend tried the Rib Eye. Both were cooked to perfection. 3. Gusto - Traditional Italian fare; one of my favourites, but Drew wasn’t crazy about it. I had the chicken parmesan and he had the Spaghetti with meatballs. We also tried the Bruschetta, and the Mozzarella Sticks. I enjoyed our meal, but his meatballs weren’t fully cooked. 4. So Cal Emporium - The buffet offered different options, with daily variation. We went there often, especially for breakfast. We had no complaints - bacon, eggs, sausage, fresh fruit, toast, assorted meats and cheese(s), mixed vegetables, etc. We never went hungry. 5. East - We ate here twice. You can order from the Teppanyaki Menu, or reserve a spot at the Hibachi table. Both were enjoyable experiences. 6. Tex Mex - Unfortunately, we never tried this restaurant. However, we were told it was great. 7. OT Sports Bar and Grill - Surpassed our expectations. Just be careful when ordering the Buffalo Chicken Wings, as they are not for the faint of heart; super spicy! Room Service is available 24 hours a day, which was very convenient when leaving early for our excursion. We arranged it to arrive just before we left, and it came on time. Overall we were very impressed with this resort. Quality standard of service and professionalism is important to us, and we were not disappointed. We don’t usually return to the same resort twice, but I would have no hesitation in coming back!

This is our second visit to Costa Rica. We love it here. First time at Planet Hollywood as it is pretty new. Opened last October. Right now they are at 37% occupancy as it is considered their rainy season and it is very hot and humid. But we have not seen much rain at all and we are from Florida so the heat we are used to. Thus not too crowded. It really is a first class resort where you literally get the Star treatment. Staying in the Director’s suite. Building 25. Perfect location. You have a personal agent who attends to all your needs. Pablo is magnificent. Makes our dinner and spa reservations. Very responsive. My son and I have been enjoying the fitness center. Love the Star pool for my morning laps. Hit the gym early to use their top notch equipment. And partake in many fitness classes. Jorge is the best and worked us hard today. We have two more days here and I know we will be sad to leave.

I’ve been to many places in the Caribbean, however the people here are exceptional. The service was amazing. They were constantly taking care of us and there at our every turn. They made you feel like a complete star here and made sure you enjoyed yourself on vacation. You did not have to lift a finger for anything. The staff was beyond courteous, respectful, happy and very professional. My concierge at building 21 was Cesar he was extremely pleasant: every morning he greeted us and taught us a phrase in Spanish and gave us great tips on how to explore Costa Rica, what to enjoy here and what things we should do while visiting. Perscilla was also very amazing and cheerful. The servers would come up to you while laying in the beach chairs or in the pool and ask you what drinks you want or if there’s anything they can get you. It’s pretty amazing. From the time we walked in off the plane they greeted us with drinks smiles and great experience full of culture. I’m glad I did not go to Mexico, Cuba or DM again. This was definitely worth every penny and I will be recommending this to my family and friends and I want to plan a trip here back on the future. The views are breathtaking and I just can’t get over the service and the staff here. Thank you to all staff at planet Hollywood Costa Rica for making my vacation a memorable one! I’m so I love with this culture I can’t wait to come back! Pura Vida! ??
