El Cid

The Cid is a wonderful resort right on the beach yet close to downtown shopping. The service is excellent and the food pool side is wonderful. Its our favorite vacation spot as it has all the best amenities.

We have been coming to El Cid for years and always enjoy our time there. We play golf and love that the golf course is right across the street . There is always a lot to do. The staff is very friendly and the food is always good.
Never Again

Don’t waste your time or money here! Pools at Swim Up are ice cold and the kids play in them. Bartendar EXPECT TIPS! Could care less about having any fun there. They need to go to Riu Jamaica and see how fun their activities directors and staff are.
El Moro needs some serious repairs!

The room we were in (1818), was supposedly renovated. It was missing the window handle in the bathroom and the window couldn't be closed. (This was repaired during our stay). The floor drain in the bathroom backed up (this was repaired during our stay). The closet doors in the master stuck and jumped the track easily (repaired). The double sinks in the bathroom: 1 had no water pressure, and the other one wouldn't drain. The coffee tables and countertops were stained with drink rings. The hair dryer was missing the screen in the back and sucked my hair into it. The electrical seems to be an issue in this building, as half the plugs don't work, and some of the plugs surge. A lot of lights throughout the building and inside suites flicker and surge. The pipes all rattle loudly whenever water is turned on. We came out to the balcony one morning to find chunks of concrete on our balcony from the underside of the balcony above. This was cleaned up by staff immediately, but could have been a danger had we been outside when it happened. A couple of benches outside required repair, they were fixed when pointed out to maintenance staff. Many of the tables and chairs around the El Moro pool are in dire need of replacement. The tables are all warped badly and the chair handles are broken off. I noticed a lot of flaking paint on the exterior of the buildings. There is constantly a shortage of pool towels. A great deal of deferred maintenance needs to be rectified to bring this property back up to its former glory. I should mention that the incredible staff in the elite club (Verenice, Lizbeth, Alejandra, Daniela, Israel and Abraham were all very quick to respond to our concerns and did what they could to make our stay special. Mario in maintenance was prompt to respond. El Cid should concentrate on repairing and upgrading El Moro as their flagship hotel.
every thing is an extra at this resort in many ways inclusive is not all inclusive here.

personally if your coned by an all-inclusive don't stay here. in this package you dont get diner and you dont get the nightly entertainment show and buffet its all an extra charge. Unbelievable!!! if you dont buy into an all inclusive you actually have to pay extra for everyday wifi internet its not free anywhere at the moro hotel unless you pay $50 for it or take the tourist trap timeshare seminar when you check in then its free.the car parking is a vert long walk down the street and it is also an extra charge for this unless...boo...boo!!!.we love Mazatlán and this is a great place to stay due to location and beach is lively. There is a grocery store across the street for your kitchen suite. its a short walk. and a variety store around the corner to walk to at the hotel.guests can visit via hotel shuttle to all 3 elcid resorts for a variety of experiences you might like away from the moro.there is also a great open style bar just walk down the street were food and bands play live till 4am.special notice to Armando at the front desk who is smart and knows how to treat guests for there special needs and for hotel information.the shower water comes out as a half dribble and does.... run hot and cold.note the bar beach staff are excellent in supplying beach drinks and around the pool i rate this 3 star because the parking lot is too far away the the shower water is barely working, the kitchen did not have an oven the stove knobs were hard to work and rooms the patio does not have a table to eat on,the all inclusive is a fake! the pool fun activities are non existent. The breakfast is mediocre, the staff outside the restaurant's in the hotel are not the openly happy greeting type.no free internet. the room bottled water is an extra if not using all inclusive ,if you don't buy this terrible all inclusive plan your stay is f#*%cked.unless you can beat the odds!that is what we did and still we will return to the elcid!
