    The staff at Carlye Inn were amazing as usual. The food and bar staff are second to none! Thank you Floyd, Ramerio, Lamar, and Christopher for always keeping the drinks full! A special thanks to the best server Cameal. She will be missed, as she is being promoted to a Butler. Don't worry Kimberly, Dane, Camelia, and Natasha are all excellent at their job as well and will fill the void. The housekeeping and maintenance staff does a great job of keeping up with an older property. The food at this resort has never let us down! Thanks to all of the kitchen staff! Up Top Boss!!!

    As always we had an amazing week at Sandals Carlyle. We started off receiving warm welcomes from all of the staff. We also brought some first timers who really enjoyed the whole experience and all 3 of the Montego Bay properties. The rooms are always nice and if you have any issues the staff is there in minutes to fix them. I have also noticed some improvements from trip to trip which is always a great thing to see. My wife and I do enjoy going to the other properties some days but usually can't wait to come home (Carlyle) at night and hang out with our "family" there. We love drinking at the Sunset Bar with Floyd, Lamar, Christopher and Ramario always taking great care of us. They will also enjoy a game of darts or Connect 4 with the guests if they are not busy with their normal duties. Thanks guys! Also let's not forget about the amazing food at the Carlyle restaurants. Breakfast, lunch and dinner is always amazing! Service is always great when you can share laughs with friends, Kimberly, Cameal, Dane and O'Brian thanks! Let's not forget the chef's Damion, Christopher, and Hakeem at the restaurants and the Nibbles grill for the amazing work they do. Donovan and Doreen thanks for an amazing week of hospitality and an excellent returning guest dinner with Tashika who was an INCREDIBLE host. Can't recommend this resort enough and are counting the days till our next trip.

    Somewhere to sleep, not stay

    The Sandals properties at Montego Bay and Royal Caribbean are absolutely stunning. The services we received there were phenomenal. The food, drinks, staffing, and amenities were supurb. The property at Carlyle (AKA the Inn) was such a disappointment. The grounds were reasonable enough. The garden was beautiful. The pool was small but clean and appreciated. The bar service was quick and the two food options on site were fair. The room service was very slow. The staffing at the Inn left much to be desired, especially when it comes to communication. They gave us the wrong times for excursions which caused some problems. They also really messed up our check out so we very nearly missed our flight home. It was very stressful and the staff didn't seem to care that my fiance and I were very upset at the end of our stay. The shuttles were prompt but very crowded. We felt overly packed on every morning shuttle. The first one didn't run until 930 and we get up early so it felt like we lost out on some beach time because of the shuttle schedule. The public beach across the street was incredibly loud during weekends. Very loud music and people partying. I live on a loud street so typically this wouldn't bother me but when you're spending 5k on a "luxury vacation" its definitely annoying. Likewise, the bathrooms left a lot to be desired. Ours at home is much nicer. The grout was dirty and flaking. The tub was very small and dirty. The showerhead itself would sometimes stop working and I was never able to get the shower to keep temperature long enough to take a comfortable shower of even a few minutes. The tiles on our balcony were cracking and my fiance nearly cut his foot on one of them. We told the staff and they did nothing. The hallways to our room were very dim and I did not want to travel them alone. The rooms leading up to ours had to have towels outside of the entrance doors to catch drips of the outdated a/c system. The amenities offered at this location left a lot to be desired. I think that's it really. We had an excellent trip but it was despite the faults of the Inn. Would not consider going back and would like to speak to management about some of the things we saw there (especially our stressful checkout)

    We just returned from Sandals Inn. It was truly one of our best vacations. We stayed in room 204. The room was very spacious and very comfortable. The bed was comfortable, air conditioning just right. It had everything we needed and a spacious balcony. The only negative I have to say is that the bathroom and carpeting really need to be updated as well as the corridor. I would rate the property higher if these things were done. We took the shuttle to Sandals Mobay or Sandals Royal every day. Those resorts are the most beautiful that we have seen. The food at all three resorts are the best that we have ever had at all inclusives. Our favorite restaurant was Tokyo Joes. The drinks are good at all three resorts as well. The service at all three was spectacular and the best we have ever had on our trips. The beach at Mobay was our favorite. Our favorite pool was on the private island at Royal. They had dancers one night at the Inn for entertainment. This was the best entertainment we have seen on our vacations.

    Sandals Inn not up to Sandal's Standards

    Many people love the Inn, we did not. Before and after booking I read many reviews and was well informed of the Inn's virtues and shortcomings. This was our 13th visit to a Sandals/Beaches resort. We landed at Sangster Airport at 11:23 am. We were through customs and immigration very quickly. We arrived at the Inn approximately 12:25 pm. We were taken to the lounge by Patrick, given cold towels and asked our drink orders. After a speedy check-in process we were informed our room wasn’t ready yet and we should go have lunch. Our room was ready before we even finished eating! Thank you for the early check-in. We stayed in Room 205, with the balcony facing the Sunset bar and the amphitheater. Our first evening we were tired from traveling and went to our room early to get some sleep. The nightly entertainment ended at approximately 11 pm and the after party started at the bar with loud music and even louder drunk guests. It finally quieted down after the bar closed at 1 am. There is also a staff utility area located below our building section utilized by staff removing and returning equipment early in the morning. The next day (Friday, March 1) I had a meeting with Donovan Dobson, Operations Manager, requesting a room change. He expressed his concern about our noise issue stating he has always found our room location to be a quiet location. Due to the high occupancy at the Inn he was not able to move us to a room which was suitable. We remained in Room 205 for the rest of stay and were subjected to loud music every night until 1:00 am. On Friday evening I called the front desk at midnight and requested the music at the bar be turned down. It was so loud the glass was shaking in the balcony doors. The staff at the Inn were hard working, friendly and wonderful to share our days with. Some outstanding staff include Natasha at the Bay Window. She always had a smile and friendly word even when she was extremely busy. We only spent one afternoon with Cassandra, she was very friendly and I’m sorry she wasn’t working any of the other days we were there. Lamar & Romario are great bartenders, fun and very likeable. Housekeeping kept our room well stocked and neat. They did arrive late on Sunday afternoon and we told them not to bother cleaning. Room beverage service was hit or miss. Two separate days we had to request water be replenished. The condition of the building at Sandals Inn is deplorable. The air conditioners are leaking onto the hallway floors causing the staff to use towels to try to keep the floor dry. There are missing and cracked tiles all along the dark hallway. Our bathroom had large sloppy caulk markings on the floor, tub & sink areas where repairs were made to the grout. The refrigerator cabinet door hinge was broken causing the door to sag, the curtains kept falling off the rod. The pubic rest rooms were clean but the toilet paper holders were broken, the soap dispenser handle fell off numerous times. The pool tiles were broken or missing in some areas. Lounge chairs were available at all times during the day. I am wondering why basic repairs are being neglected at the Inn. A complete renovation is desperately needed. We will not be returning to the Inn and will not recommend the property to anyone until repairs are completed. I hope that first time Sandals visitors don’t think all the Sandals properties are in a similar condition. We love Sandals and hope the Inn can be brought back to the Sandal’s standard of excellence we have known for years.
