Great stay at Gran Destino Tower

This was my first time staying at a moderate resort (rather than value), and it did not disappoint. While the value resorts certainly get the job done, I highly recommend choosing Coronado Springs if you can afford to spend a bit more on accommodations. We loved the design and newness of the rooms in Gran Destino Tower, and the room felt high-tech compared to what we're used to. It was great to be able to use the tv to explore the resort or choose from a selection of Disney movies to watch. My only con was on the first night, 4 separate new towels that I unraveled had dark hairs inside. That was a little gross, but otherwise the room felt clean. I also got my nails done at the spa on property and had a fantastic experience. I was the only one in the room and thus, the experience was super relaxing and personalized.

Stayed at this resort November 2019 we paid extra for a preferred room and requested the block nearest the food hall and reception for convenience..as we had taken my manual wheelchair and preferably a lake view and had emailed the hotel prior to our holiday..on arrival we were allocated a room in the furthest block away from the amenities our view being totally blocked by huge trees We walked all the way back to reception which is a fair way having being moved to the new destino hotel to see the on duty manager Christine who was no help whatsoever!! after waiting half an hour we were told a closer room would be available the following day... so my partner pushed me all the way back to the room and the next day we were given a room overlooking the car park at the very back of the first block ...so none of our requests were taken into consideration at all . Very disappointed in Disney we have vacationed at Disney for many years . This hotel seems to be geared towards the convention centre and the huge cheerleading groups . The Disney buses from the resorts on a few occasions there were people sat in the seats where wheelchairs are strapped into and the drivers did not ask the passengers to move into the other empty seats so we had to wait another 30minutes for the next bus so annoying especially as there were other seats empty ..oh and no maid service on 2 of the days would definitely not stay here again for the money we paid very disappointed Disney service isn't what it once was ...shame

As with most of the outlying Disney properties, this is just average. It is clean and well maintained. Visited for business and had catered food for breakfast and lunch. The catered food is just okay. I saw what they were charging and it seemed outrageous. But hey, it's Disney. The mouse doesn't just eat cheese. It eats cash too. Oh and don't forget to stop by the liquor store to pickup supplies. Unless you like paying $8 for a domestic beer and over $10 for well liquor. Walls are pretty thin. We could hear a conversation in the next room pretty easily.

This is now the second property at Walt Disney World that won’t allow guests to nap. The sign on the door doesn’t mean walk in while I’m sleeping to see if I need towels. It also doesn’t mean you should call our room to see if out of toilet paper. Coronado Springs has failed us, there is no privacy and no napping here! Save money and stay at a value resort.

The front desk staffer who checked us in was half asleep and couldn't get away from us fast enough. She seemed annoyed when we asked questions inquiring about our room and other things that are pertinent when checking in. Our room was on the 4th floor of Casita 2. Surprise to us -- you can't actually access the 4th floor from Building 2! after wandering around for nearly 30 minutes, we finally found access to the 4th floor. Would have been nice for the front desk to inform us this upon check in. We had an issue not receiving our housekeeping giftcard for declining housekeeping. After talking to 4 different front desk people, I called the Disney line and they finally got ahold of the manager at Coranado. The front desk people were completely useless. Food in the Mercado is terrible. Only thing they have going for them is location is close to 3 parks.
