Nice hotel, but pool was a hot (actually cold) mess

We had a great room. Corner room had to be 1000 sq feet and was in good condition with a really nice view. Plenty of room. And the golf course next door was terrific. Played nine holes for only $30 and was one of the best courses I've played. But the pool was a disaster. It was kept freezing cold. We asked them no less than 6-7 times to turn up the temperature, but they wouldn't. One time, they told us it was 82 degrees. No way...closer to 60 degrees. I couldn't stay in it for more than a few minutes. The pool bar was closed on weekdays, even though the hotel was full. And the deck chairs were ripped up. They hesitated bringing out pool towels. Of the four nights we stayed, on only the first day did they bring out the pool towels. Otherwise, you had to go all the way in to the front desk to get them. Seriously? My wife remarked how understaffed they were, and she was accurate about this. You can't charge these kinds of rates and have so few employees. Like the place, but until they fix the issues, I would stay elsewhere.

Upon walking into my room I found balcony sliding door still cracked open. After visual, and operational inspection , the doors lock is worn out. The sliding door is also out of alignment. I asked for another room however the evening manger promptly said they where completely booked.. I ask him to switch my room with someone that hasn’t checked in - giving them time to fix the room I was assigned. He didn’t like my response. - I don’t think he can see the big picture as a manger. All other staff has been great to deal with. The grounds of the hotel are nice. Their management needs mire training.

Is it Covid or is it neglect?

I am hesitant to write a bad review for any hotel given the past year but this hotel is “tired”. I chose it because of the proximity to golf course and a pool. The pool area was a hot mess. So many ripped and broken chairs that there weren’t enough good ones to go around. Never enough towels. We gave up trying to get one. There was a wind storm the first day we were there. So much dirt and trash was blown onto our patio. On day 3 we cleaned up the trash ourselves. There was no mention when we checked in as to whether rooms would be made up or not re: Covid. I saw a man with a housekeeping cart just outside our door on the first morning and asked him to please leave an extra towel which of course did not happen because our room was not made up or restocked at all. That night I went to the front desk and said our room was never made up. Crickets. Girl at the desk offered no explanation or apology. Just looked at me. I got an extra towel from her. Although the room and common areas seemed clean enough the place needs a facelift. Too many other choices in Palm Springs area. I’ll try someplace else next time. This photo is of the phone. Not sure if it shows but the card is old and stained. Super cheap fix. It’s the little things as well as the big.

This was the worst hotel experience ever. The lady at check-in was rude. The first room we were assigned had a terrible smell and we asked to change rooms. The same lady was rude to my husband when he told her there was an odor coming from the room but finally gave us a different room. In the other room, there were stains on the pillows, the water coming out of one of the taps looked dirty, the time on the clock still had not even been changed. The remote control for the tv looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years. I opened one of the bar soaps and there was a hair stuck in it. Our kids were exhausted and in an effort to make the best of it, we stayed in the room. We thought taking the kids to the pool would be a good idea. The pool area was a mess. There were zero towels. We were told it would be 15 minutes. An hour later there were still no towels. We had to use the towels from our room. The lady at the pool bar was very rude to my husband when he asked some general questions. The pool was ice cold. I mean freezing. The jacuzzi water was yellow and filthy. The chairs poolside were dirty and ripping apart. There was no life guard around. Total disarray at the pool. Overall, zero customer service and just terrible experience. Not what I expected from a Hilton chain and would not recommend to anyone....ever.

As a Diamond member of Hilton, I stay in Hilton properties roughly 150 nights each year on business. And I travel to Palm Springs a few times each year. This time, we decided to try this Hilton property and was never so disappointed in a resort. It was hard to believe that it was actually a Hilton. The pool area was a mess and the pool chairs and lounges were either falling apart or were broken. There obviously were some parties happening by the pool because there was garbage all over. No maid service due to Covid I presume, which was ok. But after a few days, we needed some new towels and it became a challenge just to get them. I was disappointed in the overall customer service, which to me, was rare, since I've stayed in Hilton properties all around the world. We come to Palm Springs 3-4 times a year and we decided that, after the first night there, we would never come back to this property!
