Very attentive service

We stayed for 6 nights at the beginning of February over Super Bowl weekend. The staff were very helpful and always eager to make our stay enjoyable. Our room was large, the bed very comfortable, we had a nice table, TV, and couch. We stayed on the 6th floor with gorgeous views of the beach, pools, and courtyard. We enjoyed listening to the ocean waves as we slept. The bathroom was perfect with all the amenities. The pool chairs were comfortable and we spent several late afternoons basking in the sun with views of the ocean. There were very few guests and so we were given extra attention at every meal. Oscar Martinez deserves a medal for excellent serving. As an all inclusive we had many choices of fruits, breads, deserts at every meal. There was always a large selection of meat dishes, but as vegetarians we were more limited. The chef in the back made us custom made burritos several evenings which were delicious. Everything was very clean, sanitized, and safe. We loved our stay and hope to come back someday.

Access to the beach and the locals was amazing. Excursions through Vallarta Adventures is highly recommended. Both Caleta and Mahahuitas beaches were well staffed and very helpful. The staff was amazing but struggled to close the gap on the disappointment with the Management.

We had a wonderful stay. The staff were so nice and Oscar Martinez and Luis Elizondo were our favorite servers. Mayra Suarez and Edgar Rodriguez were the best server and bartender in the resort. I would highly recommend Barcelo in Puerto Vallarta.
Construction sight

Beautiful resort under heavy construction due to a movie that will be filmed here. The movie is clearly their top priority. Construction began at 7:00 AM with jackhammer and banging of metal. Construction workers were all over the resort. Guests felt as though they were inconveniencing construction workers. The office staff had no idea what was going on at the resort (which restaurants are open, why is a stage being set up, is the kids club open). What made it worse is that they did not care. Claudia clearly did not want to be there. Additionally, the one person who knew anything about excursions was working remotely so everything had to be dealt with via email. This resort should not be open until construction is over and they are ready to prioritize guests
A First-Rate Stay at Barceló

I was able to stay with family friends for four days at the wonderful resort of Barcelo Puerto Vallarta, tucked away in a scenic and intimate cove at Mismaloya, just south of downtown Puerto Vallarta, in the WONDERFUL state of Jalisco, Mexico. The resort offers a number of activities for fitness, and even some diversions such as painting classes, and they are always willing to help in setting up activities for you or give you the best recommendations for things to do. Before my trip, I was very concerned about staying at such a sizeable facility where there would be so many people, as I had not done any leisure travel yet during COVID-19, but I would have to say that staff and management have done their utmost to ensure property safety procedures and guidelines are taken to minimize any health risks as much as possible. I did not ever see any staff without their masks, and I saw that staff would regularly sanitize surfaces, and that they maintain proper distancing when needed. I honestly felt very secure during my whole stay there. One thing that you will notice about this place is the amazing views from their rooms, and the lovely beach at Mismaloya where a river empties right out onto the beach on one side and on the other you have a beach all to yourself tucked in by the hotel and the mountain ranges which surround the picturesque cove. If you like to have access to Puerto Vallarta, but also want to be in a more pristine area that is more private than being near the city, then this is the place for you. It goes without saying that the scenery is utterly beautiful, and I have to say in general Mexico is a very beautiful place, and I have been quite lucky to have seen some amazing places like Parque La Huasteca around Monterrey, the Yucatan Peninsula, and Bahia Todos Santos around Ensenada, among other terrific places. As much as the natural beauty of Mexico charms the eye, I always tell people that the true beauty and treasure of Mexico are its people more than all else. The people of this terrific country are a reason in of itself to visit this region. This can be evidenced by the fine examples who work at Barcelo, sincerely working hard every day towards providing a satisfactory stay for their visitors. Above all else, including the spectacular scenery and resort amenities, I was most impressed with the staff service and their professionalism during my stay. From the very beginning when we arrived, Claudia at the front desk, was able to resolve an issue for us when we mistakenly did not include another person in our group in our initial booking of our room. She was able to effectively communicate with us and explain what happened when we first booked, and she even helped us to upgrade to the perfect suite and clearly explained the cost and what we would be getting. I also would need to mention Mario the bell boy who we met next after sorting our room out, who was always timely in transporting our luggage, and after a few days felt like a friend that I had known for a long time. A real classy person I have the most respect for. Whenever we came across him, he was always open to be of any help, and he provided us with some excellent recommendations in response to our questions. He will be missed : ) All of the staff there are so friendly, respectful, and helpful, but there is somebody special I want to mention that to me represents excellence in tourism and hospitality, and that is Adelina Romero. I was looking to visit another town in Jalisco outside of Puerto Vallarta, and she was able to not only find the best car rental company for my needs, but she was also able to arrange transportation to the car rental agency for me to sign the contract and also for the car rental company to come pick the car up at Bareclo. She is a very knowledgeable person with many connections, and she is able to help plan any excursions and arrange transportation, especially to and from the airport if needed. Whatever you are thinking, check in with her and she will help you plan an unforgettable experience. Even with my out-of-town trip, she was able to promptly respond to my messages even at some inconvenient hours and would check on my well-being and satisfaction. Even before I checked out on my last day, this woman took the time to balance all of her responsibilities- including answering calls and guest messages, and ensuring travel arrangements... and still was miraculously able to take the time to sit down and talk with me about my stay and my trip that she helped arranged. She is a very courteous person who you will feel is genuinely interested in people, and who understands people and also understands the professional responsibilities of tourism and hospitality. In fact, in my experience I cannot easily think of another person I have met who is so naturally gifted in the tourism sector...one of the best, truly. People I met during my stay like the staff at Barcelo, including Claudia, Mario, and Adelina, are some of the things I will remember most, and are a fine example of why I believe, despite the overwhelming scenic beauty, the greatest attribute of Mexico are its people and their warm potential for all things imaginable : )
