    Great stay at Blue Chairs!

    First off, I am not sure why there are so many bad reviews. We stayed for 5 nights and had a wonderful stay. Supposedly blue chairs WAS the spot to stay before Almar opened next door. The hotel is situated directly on the beach with amazing ocean views. We booked an oceanfront room and loved it. Rooms were fully updated and super clean. Sure, there are some slightly rougher edges because it IS an older hotel but we didnt have any negative experiences. The front desk and staff are wonderful and very hospitable. No issues with room charges or room issues. Keep in mind , blue chairs is NOT a luxury resort or hotel. It is a classic PV icon that has a great location, good room rates, nice rooms, and great staff.

    Miss Butterfly Cabaret

    The Miss Butterfly Cabaret is a must see drag show!! The show is awesome, 20 amazing costumes, great humor, unique personality and talented person.... Overall, it's a must see show when you're in Puerto Vallarta!!

    They get one star only because that's the lowest rating I can give them.... this place is a DUMP. When you 1st walk in the lobby seems nice, but it stops there. We got here about 30min before official check in time and we were told our room was not ready yet and would be in about 30min, understandable. We left for about an hour and a half, grabbed lunch in town and came back to be told our room will be ready in 10min. There seemed to be a lot of confusion with our check in. The guy checking us is tells us it only his 3rd day and he is still learning and the guy that was training him had to be sent home because he was tripping on shrooms. 45 more minutes goes by after wait over 2 hours past check in time, we finally get to our room. Once we get to the room floors feel like they have never been swept or mopped, tv isn't hanging on the wall straight, curtains are broken and can't be shut all the way, just sheets and no comforter on the beds and we had no towels in the room. We go to the front desk to ask for towels and were told they are out but someone bring some up...... 6 night later still no towels.... we have asked for towels each day to be told at one point the cleaning crew was off, and another point the washers don't work and they can only wash 2 towels at a time. They talked us in to charging 6000 pesos on our Credit card at check in so we would have a credit to use and the hotel bar and restaurant to speed up check out. Sounds like a great idea, right? Each time we have tried to use the credit charged to our card we are told we don't have a credit and have to go to the lobby desk to have the desk call the bar/restaurant to confirm we have a credit and to charge it to our room.

    This place has the potential to be amazing. We found it rather comical to see where the mattress pad was placed during the daily maid service. Some days it was on top of the bed.. some times in the mix of the top layers... but never on the mattress where it belongs. It also seems the maids tend to play on the elevator more than spend time actually cleaning rooms. We waited forever for the elevator.. only for 3 times for the door to open and the maid and her cart to be there-- There was no reason why she should even be in the lobby level-- but they always seemed to be on the elevators and not cleaning rooms. And only 1 out of our 4 night stay was a complete towel set left.

    Friendly beach club

    We spent a few days here at Blue Chairs beach club. Very friendly waiters. Good food and efficient service. Chairs are sling back beach chairs that grab your legs so get up and move around occasionally. A really nice change from the thumping music at Mantamar.
