This Barcelo is a large well maintained resort south of central Puerto Vallarta near Mismaloya. It is certainly family oriented. During our stay there were very many families with children of all ages. The beach for the hotel is quite small and adjacent to the public beach. There are several pools. One is designated for Adults Only. The staff are probably one of the best things about this resort. They are professional, efficient, friendly and most pleasant. Special kudos to the concierge, Yatziry. She was so helpful making reservations, answering questions and helpful in many ways. There are 5 restaurants. One buffet and four specialty restaurants. Reservations are required at all the specialty restaurants. The food was good but not outstanding. Service was excellent. We upgraded to an oceanfront suite. It was lovely with a large bedroom, master bath, living room and powder room. There was a wrap around deck with views of he beach and ocean and the nearby hill side. We enjoyed our stay and were there to view the solar eclipse.

DON'T BELIEVE ALL THE REVIEWS! This place was amazing, great resort, clean and food was delicious! Entertainers did a amazing job, always on the go, never a dull moment, and lots of laughs. Bar and resturant staff was fabulous and attentive. Leaving with full belly, dead liver, and full hearts! If your looking for some fun and adventure, book the Jack Sparrow Excursion on the resort. It consist of visiting different beaches, a hike to a waterfall, snorkeling, lunch at one of the resturant in the beach and cliff jumping. They provide drinks on the boat and historic information along the way. if your lucky like us you will also see dolphins and turtles. This excursion takes roughly 8hrs, your whole day, so plan so that!

It is the best!!!!!!!! Cesar in the premium lounge makes the best margarita and is very super. quality establishment everything you could ask for and more! . can’t go wrong with barcelo! clear leader in the all inclusive business!! thank you Cesar

Cesar in the PREMIUM lounge was so amazing, he was an excellent bartender and treated us like kings. His margaritas were excellent and he made them and every other drink exactly how we wanted them. His stories and banter were great too!! He made our stay so awesome!!

Oscar in the buffet and Edgar in the bar/cantina made our stay extra special. Oscar greeted our little Mylah by name every time he saw her. At the front desk Laura, Kevin and Alejandro made our check in and check out so easy and pleasant. Even the maid Patti took extra care of us. The bellman Humberto was so patient when we asked for directions. The only drawback was the volume of the music and DJ’s at the “family” pool. Overall we had a great vacation.
