Out of likely 12 or 13 different resorts I’ve been too, this would easily be the worst I have been too. I’ll start with my major complaint, the food is absolutely awful and borders dangerous in some cases with poor storage temperatures and some not properly cooked. Another issue is with their main restaurant the Aquamarine, where the birds fly freely through the buffet and stand on the food eating and pooping while most staff just look on and the odd one chases them away for only a few moments. For the 4 mornings I had breakfast I also sat beside the bird droppings covered railing that hadn’t been cleaned since the hotel was built. What doesn’t go at breakfast is waiting for you at lunch and supper is no better…and guess what…what’s left over from supper will be in the breakfast buffet. The fresh egg/ omelette cook was very good and friendly so that thankfully was the only shining light. Other issues , the rooms are very plain in the tower section of the resort and very old and poorly maintained, one couple I talked to said they had horrible mold issues that were just painted over and not even cleaned. The beach is ok, but pretty dirty with cigarette butts and small garbage and it seems unless it’s the size of a cup or bigger the staff doesn’t clean it. The beach loungers are filthy, as are the tables, but I admit there is lots of seating on the beach, although you still can’t get far enough away from the pool for peace and quiet, as the pool music is so insanely loud I don’t understand how the staff stands it. There is zero drink service on the beach, so be prepared to go back and forth, and the beach restaurant serves burgers and sometimes hotdogs and very little other option. The staff were mostly unfriendly and really not many went out of their way to help you, even to seat you or get a drink while seated. The bars are pretty poorly stocked, so you better like one brand of rum or vodka or you’re out of luck. All in all, stay away and find a better place to spend your hard earned money…I would never return here, and the reviews that were so positive before I booked this seem quite cooked up now.

Room was in adequate for being able to unload suitcase...could not unpack..no dresser...towels were raveled.....food ok...except for the pizza...very good..staff was very good.......no activities such as Bingo...will not stay here again

I've never left a review on anything in my life but I have to for this place. This was my wife and I's first trip to Mexico (actually anywhere hot) and man were we let down by this "all inclusive" resort. The room we had in the tower wasn't too bad but the railing on the 11th floor balcony was scary loose so I'm very glad we didn't have the kids there. It had a great view of the ocean which was nice. The shower water spread into the entrance area unless you had a towel by the door. And you didn't want to use a towel for that because they don't give you enough of those unless you beg the cleaning lady. The majority of the staff seemed very grumpy and non attentive. The one person we did really like was a bellboy named Jaime, he was great from the moment the taxi dropped us off. They need 100 more of that guy. No booze included in the room, just 2 bottles of water and had to beg for more of those. The food was absolutely terrible!! The omelette bar was disgusting! Chicken crap covered eggs being cracked with bare hands then grabbing other ingredients with the same raw egg and poop covered hands to make the omelette. Then she turns around and makes breakfast tacos with the same hands as well. This was an every morning deal as well as the birds flying around crapping everywhere and eating muffins and other food. I guess at least they enjoyed the food. We ended up going to Costco to buy food to make our own breakfasts. We ate out for dinner almost every night as well. There were supposed to be 2 A la Carte restaurants but they weren't open. They told us that they were doing a special deal for everyone and offering an Italian night and an Oriental night for free instead. We went to town on Italian night and asked other guests how it was the next day. They said it was disgusting. We asked someone coming from Oriental night how it was and they said surprisingly very good so we went to try it. It was so gross!! That was it, we never ate another thing from this place the rest of the trip. The bars were junk!! All of the drinks at the pool bar tasted pretty much the same, overly sweet. Beer was only draft. Bartenders were all grumpy looking, even when you left a tip. I don't mind leaving tips for good service but tips here got you nothing so we completely stopped giving them. The Lobby bar never seemed to be open at their posted times and when they were it was a poor area to hang out anyway. Who wants to hang out in the lobby of a hotel? The pool was ok besides them never having the filters on so garbage would be floating around all the time. We saw people steady cleaning stuff out as did we when we were in there. This place has absolutely no night life at all after supper, It pretty much shuts down. First night had some terrible band out in the courtyard and second night had a really terrible singer in the restaurant during supper. That's all we saw for "entertainment" We will definitely go back to Puertra Vallarta but I will NEVER go back to this place!!

We loved this resort. The personnel is very friendly. We reserved a king size bed and saw we were three people and gave us a rolling bed for free. The room was very clean and up-to-date. The balcony was perfect with ocean view. When we ask for service they come right away. Everything was working perfectly. The food at the restaurant was very good. A lot of variety. Lots of chairs around the pool and on the beach. The resort is very clean. Even though it was spring break they were a lot of people but it’s still seem to be fairly quiet. The resort is a short walk to the Marina. We will come back.

Very clean and great staff. I stayed here during a cancelled flight and was pleasantly surprised. Good food at the buffet, as well. Seems quiet while I’m here, must not be the busy season. But if that’s what you’re looking for, this is the spot for you.
