Fantastic stay

Seth M on Apr 08, 2024

The entire stay was great. Comfy rooms, exciting nightlife, beautiful beaches, the pools were wonderful. The food was very good, wide range of cuisine to match everyone’s need. Superb service, especially Jose Alejandro, always a smile to start our day off.

Honest review based on my experience

Jason W (Vancouver) on Apr 02, 2024

March 2024 This is my honest review based on my experience. I'll start by saying that this is the fifth all inclusive resort that I have stayed in on the Riviera Maya. I have previously stayed at the Bahia, Barcelo, Iberostar Tucan and the Eldorado Royale. The resort grounds: Overall the grand Palladium was my favourite in terms of layout of resort. We were in building 20 at the Colonial with adjoining rooms and while there is some walking involved because this is a large resort, everything was within a reasonable distance. There are a multitude of trail systems that run throughout the jungle setting connecting everything. I will say that it takes a while to get your bearings in terms of direction but there is signage everywhere and quite honestly we enjoyed taking wrong turns and discovering new areas. The beach: The beach is fantastic with minimal rocks and seaweed. The roped off area for where you can swim is not huge but there is plenty of space for everyone to move around. The pools: the two main pools are at the colonial and White Sands. We preferred the colonial as there is much more activity and just an overall better vibe. If you don't get your towels placed on cots by 7:30 AM you may be out of luck. The rooms: I think the colonial is the only section that hasn't been recently renovated so the rooms are dated in comparison to the ones at Kantenah and White Sands. We had connecting rooms with our two teenagers in one and us in the other. Overall the rooms are OK but I have stayed in better. As the resort is set in the jungle expect the rooms to have a very humid almost mildew like smell which hits you when you first get there but you get used to it. Bring humidity bags for your clothing! Clothes just do not get dry even if left out in the sun, it's that humid. The maid staff are excellent and quick. Buffets: The buffet at White Sands was our favourite by far. Not as busy and better service. The ones at colonial were fine but just seem to be always busier and a longer wait to get seated. Restaurants: Our favourite by a longshot was the American steakhouse (can't remember the name) followed by the Italian then the Argentinian one. We also went to the Japanese and Brazilian and they were just OK. We also ate at the sports bar one night which was decent and I got to watch a hockey game to boot. The bars: Best bar in our opinion is the lobby bar at colonial followed by the beach bar at colonial near the volleyball court. Worst one was probably the pool bar at colonial which was chronically understaffed. The Gym/Spa: while we didn't use any of the spas services like Massage etc. the gym itself was excellent. Large facility in comparison to other resorts with good equipment and never too busy at the peak times of 8 AM to 10 AM. The building that the gym is in has a nice smaller outdoor pool which is almost always empty and is surrounded by cots which are all also almost always empty, so a great place for quiet time or to read a book. Service: this was probably the only real negative in that it was definitely not consistent and that great service was not too common. Not faulting the resort for this as I think employee retention has become a worldwide problem. Other: they have an excellent sport court area where you can play soccer, volleyball, mini golf, do archery or play tennis/Pickleball. If you're not into walking the distances between things there are constant shuttles running which will stop and pick you up pretty much anywhere and take you anywhere you want to go. Lots of wildlife all over including a few cheeky monkeys that like to steal your food, some resident friendly cats, a ton of iguanas, some extremely loud birds, lots and lots of those raccoon/possum creatures ( forget the name) who hang out in groups and others. You're in a jungle and the wildlife abounds.

La Adelita’s Waiter

Pattiswann-2003 (Leeds, United Kingdom) on Apr 01, 2024

Went to the Mexican Restaurant (La Adelita) an evening meal and had Geizardo be our waiter. He gave us excellent service and made us feel welcome. Would go again! Our waiter was very attentive whilst giving us our space. Food was delicious and did not have to wait long. This was the best service in all of the restaurants we visited at Grand Palladium

Amazing and beautiful

Truly a paradise. They think of everything to keep your stay relaxing and luxurious. Bring a floatie for the pool as they are really deep. Bring lots of tips because the wait staff is amazing and takes good care of you!
