This was our 2nd visit and we brought friends with us this time. We enjoyed every minute of our relaxation vacation. The staff from maintenance to security were so friendly and helpful. The beach is small at the adult one and a bit beat up but still beautiful, yes there is seaweed and they do have a crew that clean it up it’s a part of nature and I have no complaints about it. If we are just sun bathing and want to enjoy the sounds of the sea we hang out at the beach here but If we wanted to take a swim and play in the waves we just walk down to the sister resort you can use there chairs and cabanas there as well. We very much enjoy there buffet restaurant for breakfast lunch and dinner. They have a fantastic selection and change it up with there specialty nights the deserts were okay they tiny donuts they made tho were so good. The Teppan-Yaki restaurant is a lot of fun they give a great show and the food we found this year was a step up then last. The other restaurants are good you don’t get much in food wise it’s more for the experience of the fine dining and the beautiful plating of food some of us did fine we got hungry later on so we just hopped on over to the Buffett restaurant where they serve a selection of snacks fresh sandwiches and you can order burgers (they were excellent) and hot dogs when dinner was over. The live entertainment was enjoyable the reggae band was on point as well as there rock band. There are 2 swim up bars there main one which they have lots of stuff going on at and is definitely the party pool and a quieter one on the other side which is the one we enjoyed not as many people and more places to find a bit of shade when needed. The only con I guess I have is that it’s getting a bit run down our rain shower lights didn’t work but no biggy to us and we had the room with the jacuzzi tub which was missing the head rest and the knob to turn on the shower head to it was missing then again it was no biggy for us. They could have more counter space around the sink or some sort of shelves to be able put my toiletries on.

Group of couples stayed in platinum building 5 with swim outs. Room was nice and clean and great location to pool, swim up bar, restaurants, entertainment and beach. Many people call it the quiet building- it is peaceful and quiet but lots of space to have fun and mingle with others. The swim out deck is shaded all day however the lounges and Bali beds and 1/3 of the swim out pool directly across from the room is full sun all day. The swim up bar area is full sun as well. We could hear a little bit of the entertainment at night but nothing to keep u up late. We used room service and it was good- took about 30-40 min to arrive. Cleaning service was great and routinely came around 10:30-11 everyday. Patio door did not lock very good. I would suggest checking it as soon as u check in . Many of us used the spa and were happy. I had the best deep tissue massage I’ve ever had by “Crystel” and booked her again for a hot stone massage- even better! U can get official receipts to use for health benefits to cover as they are registered massage therapists. The hydrotherapy water circuit is included with the platinum rooms- it’s a one time use of the sauna, steam room and outdoor hydrotherapy pool. The pool is really just warm water with lots of jets but it’s very pretty out there and u can use the loungers or Bali beds if available. The restaurants were ok. There were no outstanding meals yet we enjoyed everything. For a large group we never had to wait long. The waiters at the al a cartes were ok. The only breakfast option was the buffet. BRYAN in the buffet was extremely efficient and friendly- we really enjoyed him. The bartenders and servers at the platinum pool were great- always coming around and fast and friendly. The party pool often took a long time to get drinks due to how busy it was. The beach area was narrow and there was a lot of sargassum. We noticed how much plastic wrappers, water bottle caps, and random garbage was washed ashore. At the end of the platinum Yucatán beach area there is a nicer area of beach and water. We swam more in the grand sunset/riviera beach area, however felt that their beach was very over crowded. We walked through the sister resorts a few times- they r very large. If u want to make reservations there u need to do with lots of notice and before 2pm. We were never able to get tables in time each time we tried. Overall, the grounds and rooms are very nice. The restaurants are nice but felt they were missing something..maybe a few more options ? Definitely would have liked more lunch and breakfast options. We listened to the music and checked out the shows at night- danced in the “club” once. Enough to keep u busy at night but we go to bed earlier than most. The party pool area is fun - lots to see and hear! We were happy to be able to come and go and return to the platinum area. We travelled with sunwing- the sunwing rep called our rooms repetitively asking us to come down with a little orange booklet- they claimed we had to in order to get back on the bus for our return flight home. It was really just a scheme to get you to book excursions. After several days of calling we finally clarified we would not be going on excursions and they stopped calling. The bus times are printed on a display outside of the lobby several days before departure. We would recommend this resort based on price and our experience.

Everything is awesome except the beach.

As many others have said this resort is great and if you don’t care about the beach I would recommend it. The food, entertainment, service and cleanliness of the resort were all fantastic, not a complaint. Everyone is very nice and helpful. If your a beach person you may not love it as the picture I have included was the constant for 7 days. They do have 4 guys that make an attempt at cleaning some of it everyday but it’s kind of like watching guys dig a hole and then just fill it in again. Not the resorts fault really, it is the ocean and you can see it just washing in everyday. Other then that we had a great time thank you.

Just got back from the PYP. Service was great. All the ala carte restaurants were wonderful but make sure men to bring pants because of their dress code. Never had to wait at all to be seated. Buffet for breakfast and lunch could be better. Same choices everyday. Beach not wonderful but just a little walk down the water is much clearer and you can sit at the chairs there. Also if you walk down the right of the beach you can get massages for $30 for an hour. Pools were good but they could use more chairs for people to sit in. My only real complaint would be the nightly entertainment. They had a rock band one night which was fun. Would like to have more of that kind of entertainment at night.
