Great location to walk to Pier 39 and to Ghirardelli Square! Hotel is clean, staff friendly and professional, room of adequate size. Request a room on the 4th floor to get the best views of the bay! The Blue Mermaid restaurant on premises featured delicious food, although a limited menu at this time. First time staying at this property but it certainly won't be our last!
Exceptional

This hotel did not disappoint. We ended our spring break vacation (1st stop Napa) with a two night stay in a king one bedroom suite at the Argonaut and it was lovely. From the valet to the front desk, guest service was wonderful. They offered us Fiji water and guest wellness kits with face masks, sanitizer wipes, and spray hand sanitizer upon arrival. The one bedroom suite was described on the website as approximately 600 sq ft but it seemed much bigger (perhaps we were upgrade). It had a comfortable living room with pull out sofa bed which we used for our kids and a nice dining table. Perfect for a family. The suite had exposed brick walls, giant wood beams and beautiful white wood window shutters. The nautical theme was tastefully done. To our surprise, they sent up a complimentary bottle of wine and welcome note on our first night. The hotel is in a perfect location, on the quieter end of the wharf but close enough to walk to pier 39 and Ghirardelli Square. Lots to do and plenty of food options and souvenir stores. The Bay Company across the street has quality clothing and souvenirs with great customer service. Highly recommend the Argonaut.
Average and overcharged us

The location of this hotel is great. We booked a bay view room however the bay was only partially visible, with mostly street view. Overall over our stay was ok, nothing exceptional about it. The reason for giving lower rating is that we were charged for min bar and restaurant when we didn’t use it. We had to wait at the front desk for about 20min to get it corrected with no compensation made for the mistake at their end.
Beautiful Stay

My sister and I visited my brother who had stage 4 lung cancer. I was going to stay at another hotel but my sister & her husband invited me to the Argonaut as their guest. It’s located close by the wharf area, Ghiaradelli’s and the In and Out Burger. You couldn’t ask for a better location. The room was very clean & comfortable and had a nice homey feel to it. The breakfast in the restaurant was excellent- especially the coffee. We all agreed on that ! I don’t know if I’ll return ever to San Francisco. My brother died on May 4 which was very, very sad for our family. The Argonaut is something I’ll remember as a good memory when there was few.

To begin with is we stayed at the hotel in May 2018. Catching up my stays ??. We had a double queen bedroom and it was a very nice room. Good beds nice bathroom. This hotel is situated near fisherman’s warf! It is a very good location to visit alcatraz. A nice walk to the golden gate bridge ( couple of miles up and down ) nice restaurants nearby but some of them are pricey. ( it is a big city so it’s normal ) Had a great stay at the hotel and the staff was very friendly!!!
