Family holiday

Lovely setting. We were in Magnolia / pool view room. Pools were clean. Just about enough storage for a family of 4 but we took lots of coat hangers to help with that. Air con was but noisy but we put the temperature up as we went to sleep and out the ceiling fan on to sleep. The Quick service restaurant Mill food court was ok but got monotonous after a week. Resort cups were worth buying for our 10 day stay but it seemed that coffee and tea were free anyway! Ice machines were great. The laundry room was good. Great to be able to use the app to see how long you’ve got left. Disney busses were good and frequent.
Hotel Ok, Parks Ok but no Disney Magic.

This was my family from the UK fifth trip to Walt Disney World since 1999. First two trips we stayed in the All Star Music. The last three have been at PO Riverside. Since our last trip in 2015 we noticed that Disney standards have dropped probably due to cost cuts. The rooms are looking tired and the housekeeping is not as frequent or as thorough. Gone are the days when you got individual bottles of shampoo etc. Instead there are refillable bottles chained to the wall. This time there were a lot of little dogs staying at the hotel and if you got a room next to one the constant yapping can ruin your stay. I really don't think they should allow dogs. We had to move rooms. The grounds are still well kept. The restaurant looks the same but is generally grubier. The drinks machines often are not working, and lack carbonation so are flat. The hot chocolate is often empty. The food is okay but a very limited choice. If you are staying for two weeks you would soon get fed up with it. The burgers I found were overcooked and dry. The staff used to be very efficient and friendly, now they seem miserable and disinterested. The busses seem less frequent and overcrowded. A lot of space is given up to disabled visitors. I don't like the new fastpass system . Some rides you have no chance of getting on unless you turn up just as the park opens or you pay to book your place. Even when booking these places are limited. The Disney magic has gone. I always thought to get the real experience you had to stay in Disney as it was so well run. I was considering joining the DVC but now I don't even know if I will be returning.
