Interestingly, there are no rental cars in Bermuda as a result of its environmental commitment to limit cars to one per household. Instead, an efficient public transportation system will take you most everywhere you want to go by bus and ferry. Be sure to buy an inexpensive transportation pass for unlimited use of both.

Try setting out without an agenda and get lost for the day. Say "good morning" or "afternoon" when you board. Not only is it good manners here, it's also one of the best ways to talk to friendly locals and see what they suggest.

The road signs here are so precise they indicate distances in one-tenth of a km (e.g. "St. George's 10.1 km") - perhaps the only place in the world that does this. As it's easy to lose your bearings, thankfully they also point the direction.
