The staff at the resort were all extremely friendly, helpful, and professional. They were fantastic! The building itself is a bit tired and needs a refresh. The restaurants and bars had good food and beverages. The outdoor lobby is a great concept but is too close to the main road to be enjoyable as the cars passing by are super noisy. Maybe a sound barrier wall would help? The most annoying thing was the roosters crowing all night, keeping us awake. I know the resort can not help the roosters exist, but they could purge them from the property each night. Other resorts do this and don't have the problem of the noise all night.

I cautiously booked 2 separate stays here with a stay at Comfort Suites in between because I was spooked by bad reviews, but I wish I stayed here the whole time. Here's my commentary: 1. The room is excellent. It has a cute, well-designed island theme with a map table, nice decorative pillow(s), great AC, a nice sliding door on the shower, and wonderful colour scheme. It's exactly what I would've wanted from a resort in the Caribbean. On the first of our 2 stays we had a garden view king room where you could just walk up a little winding boardwalk from the pool and immediately be at your room--I recommend booking the garden view rooms. The parking lot view room on the 4th floor was admittedly a little less magical. 2. The pools and grounds are beautiful. There is a big pool out back near the open-air lobby, another beautiful winding one that leads up to the 5:00 Somewhere bar (you can sit in the pool and eat, although I didn't do this), and a well-sized (and appropriately hot) hot tub. Nice shape and lighting. There are gardens all around. 3. The bike share was convenient and free. They've got fixers you can borrow for the day, although honestly you should just rent a car since it costs like $20 a day to rent one from Andy's across the street. The pictures are all accurate and this is a wonderful place. There are other restaurants right next to the place if you're worried about choice.

    How disappointing this trip was

It was hot, it was humid and the mosquitos were insane. That was before we even got checked into the hotel. Checkin was at 3pm but we had almost a 2 hour wait before a room was available for us. We found out one of the restaurants was "closed for the month" but we had three other choices for lunch or dinner. The food at 5o'clock somewhere was adequate but the mosquitos were out in force. There were 4 pools open to us but the one closest to the lobby had hot water which was not at all refreshing. We did have a wonderful lunch at the deli called Spread only to find it "closed for a month" the very next day. So after a really long day we were stuck ordering Pizza to go from Frank and Lola's. I was amazed at how quick it was ready until we got to our room and found it undercooked. The staff was great, willing to help answer our questions, suggest tours for us to take and quickly fixed an issue with our AC fan. We previously stayed at Margaritaville in Pensacola FL which was amazing and was a factor for deciding to stay here. Unfortunately it did not live up to our expectations, we were disappointed by the restaurants, pools and bugs.

Very disappointed, was looking for a Margaritaville quality hotel like I stayed at in Key West this was not even close. The bed was very hard and the room was just ok. The property reminded me of a old Days Inn. They charge a resort fee of $35 don't know what really for, they also charged a $22.58 service fee. I asked the girl at the front desk what it was and she just a service fee, no real answer..Just another way to cheat there costumer, Do know how Margaritaville puts there name on this place. But the staff was fantastic and very nice.
