After first going to Azul Beach Resort Negril in November 2021 for a last minute mother-daughter Thanksgiving trip, I was happy to go again in January for my annual business planning retreat. What I love about this resort is the friendliness of the staff, the stunning location and beautiful beach and sunsets plus the spaciousness of the rooms, the double sinks in the bathroom, the perfect ocean view from the balcony and the most amazing beach just a few steps away from my room. A few other highlights are the free paddleboards, which I enjoyed nearly every day, and the great "showtime" every night... with a terrific entertainment staff including Chevon (Peacock), Omar (Emoji), Deshae (Bones) and Ana Kay... they made you feel welcome, involved and excited about what they have going on for guests. I also loved spending every morning doing yoga at one of the outdoor platforms (used for weddings and romantic dinners). The outdoor massages in the "sky massage" hut were amazing, as were the sample chair massages available every day at the beach. I found the staff to be incredibly friendly and attentive. Like Dwight who made note that I mentioned it was my Operation Director's birthday and sent up a cake and champagne on her special day. And Shamoy who remembered I wanted to try a coconut and/or peanut drop... and went out of his way to get one for me from his friend and deliver it to me on the beach. Then there was Rinaldo, the security officer, whose dedication to safely and protecting innocent guests from some shady beach vendors was noticeable. I always felt safe, even the last 3 days of my trip that I spent on my own. I'm a very particular eater due to lots of food sensitivities, and I was always able to find something to eat that met my needs and tasted good. I'm not sure I'd consider the foot gourmet (and I would have really loved some dark leafy greens instead of iceberg for my salads), but it was sufficient and good, especially the desserts... tapioca pudding at the Asian restaurant, double chocolate rum fudge at the Italian restaurant and the best ever gluten free chocolate terrine that was special dessert I had one night at the Jamaican restaurant. I never went hungry... which is always a concern for me when I travel due to my food limitations. Service was markedly better in November. Yes, they ran out of things here and there, but I'm easy going and not hard to please... so all in all it was a fantastic trip and I'm already looking forward to going back hopefully later this year.

Amazing beach, decent rooms and edible food!

I went with my hubby and another couple and we both booked the swim up pool room. This was during COVID in January 2021 so in terms of safety and how the staff handled everything was pretty good because I think they could only take a certain percentage of bookings because a lot of the spaces & rooms were empty. The rooms were okay, nothing fancy but it was nice that the beach was located right in front of us and we had a balcony area that led out to the pool (it’s not a private pool), it is shared amongst the other rooms there in the section but it’s also nice that they have a swim up bar and they clean your room every day. The food was edible or in other words very bland, no flavor, etc....so I wouldn’t expect anything extraordinary. The blandness applies across the board from their main hall dining to their specialty foods. We actually ended up going out for food cause we were just tired of eating crap food but if that is your preferred pallet then this place is definitely for you. For those who like flavor in their food, just beware but again, it’s edible so at least you’re fed at an all inclusive resort. There’s also an awesome crab/lobster shack you have to check out that we ended up really liking. They let you pick your own catch and it’s at the end of the beach resort and worth visiting for flavor lol! (Only a 5 min. walk). Room service was sub par, I guess because of COVID - they always didn’t have something and there were limitations. For example, 2 beers each time you order. We ended up going to the supermarket ourselves to pick up snacks and goodies because every time we wanted to order something, they didn’t have 70% of it. As for entertainment and service, it was good. They showed us a good time and depending on the crowd, they will cater their entertainment accordingly if you catch my drift. Overall, I would recommend to stay here for decently priced resorts. Jamaica seems to be expensive in general and if it wasn't for their COVID prices, I would not have stayed here because any higher than what I have paid, the rating for this would have been a lot lower. Staff and service was helpful and attentive and what really sealed the deal for me was the gorgeous beach. Only reason why it wasn’t a 5 star was because of the food and my whole group could attest to that.

I will start with my wife and I travel all inclusive all over the Caribbean 2-4 times per year. This was our first stay at Azul. We loved everything about it. We stayed at the Royalton in September. The facility at Royalton was fine and comparable to Azul. The service at Royalton was no where near the level of service at Azul. The restaurant staff and beach service staff called us by name the entire stay. Its like they were friends of ours. Christina & Shinelle at the swim up pool bar were absolutely amazing and we thoroughly enjoyed our time with Anna Kay from the entertainment team. The food in every restaurant was exceptional by any standard. The beach and pool areas were very will maintained. During our stay at the Royalton in September and the Hard Rock Cancun in July the resorts used the pandemic as an excuse for anything that did not go as planned. At Azul we had such a great vacation it seemed like we were not even in a global pandemic. They took all the proper precautions, but the product and service was not sacrificed. I am sure it was somewhat due to the pandemic, but we were always able to get loungers at desired locations at the beach, and the pool areas. There were also plenty of well stocked beach towels available to anyone that wanted one. Simply Outstanding from top to bottom.

I usually don’t do reviews because I constantly stay at hotels and if I were to review all I’ll never sleep. Most of the time I just say I’ll never stay “there” again, however I will review Azul Negril!!! I’m going to start right out by saying this is NOT a 5 star hotel. I will give it 3.6, the resort is small and a bit confined. The landscape is beautiful the beach front is beautiful. Now again I’m an above average traveler not bragging but I was disappointed in the price and product that was offered. The furniture in the rooms need to be modernized, the bed doesn’t have a proper duvet and the room lights are dark and dismal. I would have put extra money towards sandals for an actual 5 star experience. I’m not discouraging anyone from going to azul I’m just simply saying this is not a 5 star hotel and do your research if you want quality for your money. The gourmet restaurants they advertise were just ok. The better ones was ackee and mahogany. As a frequent traveler to Thailand the food at Hui Han was not that great. The employees are nice. There were other issues but I won’t post it. My stay was 6 nights 7days.

    We miss it!

My family and I visited for the New Year’s holiday. We were absolutely in love with our room which was a swim up room. The kids are dying to come back. The entertainment crew was absolutely amazing. I have been to other resorts in Jamaica where we felt like the entertainment was a little outdated and boring but this crew made it inclusive, refreshing and current. The grounds were well-kept, the room was cleaned daily and the best part about this resort are the very nice staff (Carlos at the bell stand knew our names instantly and was always available to help!) and the close location to 7 mile beach. If you are deciding to come please be sure to choose a swim up room! I think the only things that need improvement are the splash pad for the kids is outdated and could use a freshen up because otherwise my 10-year-old only had our swim up suite and the beach to enjoy I usually try to choose a resort that caters to my children. The indoor daycare center was beautiful and clean and my children enjoyed that area. One other need for improvement is that food items were often out of stock or not available each day but I could understand the circumstances due to coronavirus. We hope to come back in soon!
