We couldn’t have been more pleased. From the perfectly manicured grounds to the food. Everything was first class. Entertainment was top notch. Activities group were so engaging, called us by name from first day. Jamaican people are so laid back, “Don’t Worry be Happy” certainly applies. Bottom line by far best resort we have ever been to. We will be back “Yah Mon” Darrell and Elaine Hayes Louisville Kentucky

Just returned from this fantastic hotel, where we had enjoyed 14 nights of heaven, the grounds were immaculate with well kept gardens lazy river and infinity pool with swim up bar overlooking the beach the bar tenders never forgot you and remembered your drink and name, the main buffet restaurant had an enormous selection of food to suit everyone even the most picky, there is also 6 alacarte restaurants to choose from. The staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them the jamaican people are the friendliest people I have ever met and keep thanking you for visiting their country would i return to this marvelous hotel most definitely yes

    Suitable, reasonably priced family resort.

We (husband, 12 year old daughter and I) arrived around 2:30 on a Saturday afternoon for check-in and were told our room wasn’t ready, to go have lunch and come back in 30 minutes. This was expected as check-in time of 3:00pm was clearly indicated on the booking confirmation. No big deal. We walked around the resort a bit, checked out the beach, had a few sodas, and came back around 4:00pm. Room still wasn’t ready, and we were assured it would be available in 15 minutes. Finally around 5:50pm we were given our room keys. Annoying and inconvenient, but not terribly uncommon for a large resort on a Saturday. I had booked a Superior Seaview Junior Suite with king sized bed months in advance and completed the online check-in prior to arrival confirming the room choice with king size bed. (Website and app are useless and need to be updated, by the way.) We entered the room and instead of a king size bed we were given a room with two double beds. Of course the resort was at capacity so no chance of switching to the room type I requested at booking. We were exhausted from travel, so instead of making a fuss we decided to just deal with sleeping in separate beds. Weird, annoying, inconvenience, but again not a deal breaker. The room itself was clean and spacious. Two double beds, a pullout sofa, large bathroom with walk-in shower and separate jacuzzi tub. Plenty of storage and closet space, a safe, minibar, TV, small table with chairs, and a nice sized balcony with a gorgeous view overlooking the sea and resort pools. I loved having a drying rack on the balcony to hang swimsuits. The decor is... odd. Purple, burgundy and lime green color scheme was confusing and outdated. My biggest gripe with the room is the bed linens/pillow situation, or lack thereof. Oddly, each bed only had ONE small pillow. Linens and pillows for the pullout bed were completely absent. After calling the front desk and requesting linens and 3 pillows, nobody showed up, so I called again and a set of linens finally showed up around 9pm. No pillows. I called again and was assured pillows would be delivered right away. I received ONE pillow, and my request for additional pillows went unanswered the rest of the week despite asking various staff members. Bathroom was clean and extremely large. However the walk-in shower was SO dark and there’s nowhere to place shampoo, washcloths, etc. There are shampoo and soap dispensers in the shower but I prefer to use my own stuff and not have to keep it on the shower floor. The jacuzzi tub was semi-functional but clean. It too seemed well past it’s expiration date. Overall the rooms need updating. Upon checking in, you’re given a card for each guest which is to be used in exchange for beach towels. Each time you need a new beach towel, guests need to walk over to the pool house and exchange the card for towels. I’ve never encountered this policy at other resorts. The pools were lovely and clean. Water temp was perfect- refreshing without being irritatingly cold. We usually prefer to stay on the beach, but the infinity pool overlooking the beach was one of the highlights of this resort. However good luck getting a lounger near any of the pools! Guests come early to establish their territory and place towels on entire rows of chairs, often leaving them vacant for the entire day. Lazy river was an absolute joke. There is NO current whatsoever, so forget about laying back and relaxing in this VERY lazy river. People seemed to enjoy the swim-up bar and entertainment staff. Music was enjoyable and not obnoxiously loud, and I often saw games and contests around the pool areas. There are also many coordinated activities for kids and teens. The resort excels in this area. Several nights I heard groups of tweens running around the pools, playing loud music and screaming until well past 2am. Parents were nowhere to be found and they were never told to keep it down. Beach is beautiful and large with a nice bit of room to take walks. The sea was like bath water, warm and clear with a very minor amount of seaweed. There were plenty of shaded loungers throughout and we never had a problem finding a spot. Overall we enjoyed this beach. There are outdoor showers to rinse before entering the pool area. Food was hit or miss. Buffet was above average with a large, varied assortment of fresh dishes, meats, salads, fruits, desserts, and breads. Pasta station was great, as was the omelette station in the morning. Table service at the buffet was spotty, sometimes prompt and sometimes we were completely overlooked. The restaurants were decent. Nothing stood out, but nothing was terrible either. Coffee shop is a standout feature. So good! And service was always pleasant and prompt. Food truck on the beach was great but they often ran out of things like fries and chicken. One afternoon the only choice was hotdogs. Yikes. Similarly the soft service ice cream by the pool frequently was unavailable. Ice cream shoppe next door was good though. Room service... awful. Menu is extremely limited, food is barely passable and takes an inordinate amount of time to for your cold dishes to arrive (up to two hours). Most importantly there is NO BREAKFAST room service. Breakfast in the room is one thing I most look forward to on vacation. Housekeeping was sporadic. Some days the room was cleaned, others it was untouched despite us being on the beach all day. Minibar was restocked 4 days out of 7. I had left a note requesting they remove the beer and instead leave extra bottled water as we don’t drink alcohol. That request went unfulfilled. Turndown service was consistent and they always left chocolates on our pillows. Nice touch. On the second day of vacation I had dropped my phone on the tile floor, rendering it completely unusable. I knew it was a long shot but I went to the front desk and asked if there were any phone stores I could take a taxi to. I own a business back home and my son was on vacation in another country, so being without a phone is not an option. Tashana told me nothing would be open on a Sunday evening, but she knew someone who could possibly get me an unlocked iPhone. I was skeptical, but sure enough she called my room later to let me know she found someone who would deliver a phone to the resort the following morning. The phone was in mint condition and cost LESS than what I would’ve paid here in the US. I was absolutely stunned at her willingness to go above and beyond. She followed up several times to make sure everything was to my satisfaction, and the phone is still working perfectly. Tashana is the kind of employee I could only dream of finding, and I’m incredibly grateful for her handling of the situation. She quite literally saved me from a disastrous situation. Additionally most of the staff are friendly, smiling and willing to help the guests. The people of Jamaica are the reason why we keep returning. In conclusion, this is a reasonably priced option for a family friendly vacation spot. We had a good time despite the shortcomings. I would consider returning if the rooms were updated and some tweaks were made to ensure consistent service, better room service options, and requests were followed through. Management needs to step up their attention to the little details that would make this resort a solid 4 or 4.5 star option. I’d also consider staying at the adults-only Grand Rose Hall next time as I’ve heard consistently good reviews:

‘Yeah Mon’ certainly the first word you will learn while in Jamaica. I would highly recommend the Iberostar Selection Rose Hall suites. The staff, the food, the pools, the beach and the shows are all GREAT!!!. My 4 stars of the week: Pierre (Front-Desk), The Asian Buffet (Senta) (Never saw so many Sushi’s & Lobster tails in all my life) , The Show The Boogie show (70 & 80 Disco music, the signers are GREAT!!!!), one last mention Chantal at the Buffet room, that lady is very efficient … One last thing if you ever take the complementary shuttle bus that brings you to the Rose Hall Mall (Tourist trap), I would strongly suggest to don’t by the bottles at the liquor store as the price are at least double to triple the price compare to the Airport Duty Free, wait till your departure to by booze ………. Have a nice holiday

My now husband and I travelled to the Iberostar Rose Hall Suites on August 20th, 2019 with a group of 30 close friends and family members for our upcoming wedding. Check-in was an absolute breeze, not everyone's rooms were ready but everyone made due for a couple hours. Rooms themselves were great very clean, our view was absolutely breath taking, we were upgraded from an oceanview to an oceanfront room because we were there to get married. Pools and beach both very clean, always lots of beach chairs available. Food was amazing, we had a wide rage of guests with dietary restrictions and allergies ie.vegan and dairy allergies. All guests had no issues finding a variety of food to eat each day. A la carte restaurants were exceptional, our favorite was the Mediterranean. As for the actual wedding, it was absolutely amazing. My husband and I are both over the moon about how perfect it was. Our wedding coordinators Catherine, Kimberly and Jessan were AMAZING!!! We had our ceremony at the Lazy River Island, cocktail hour at the Blue Moon Bar and reception at the Italian restaurant. The entire day went so smooth, there were no issues with anything. Our guests loved the cocktail hour with the Mento band. For dinner we chose a traditional Jamaican menu which included jerk chicken/pork, curry goat, rice, lots of options for everyone to choose from. Following dinner the party began! Our dj was great, played all the right music to get the party started and kept it going all night long. Shout out to our favorite bartenders Akeen, Jules and O'Neil!!! We will definitely be back to this resort again and again and again!
