First-timers to any of the Couples resorts soon discover that they are in the minority - everyone seems to be back for the umpteenth time. This is the mark of success the resort enjoys. This was our second...and our third. We planned a week in Sans Souci. Everything seemed weirdly quiet upon our arrival there as well as the rest of Jamaica given the Covid Twilight Zone, but we soon fell in with the friendly and highly-attended subculture of Sunset Beach, where clothing is prohibited and given the bar, buffet, pool, hot tub, games, and general esprit de corps, there is no compelling reason to go elsewhere during the day. The topography, facilities (sauna!), nooks and crannys, and vegetation make the rest of the resort unusually attractive and interesting. We did play tennis, where we discovered I had brought the wrong shoes. Without fanfare, the visiting pro literally gave me his tennis shoes off his feet for the duration of our stay and left the court in his socks. This was the standard. Rarely was a staff member anything but friendly, proactive in service, and happy in demeanor. The weather was not great, and the forecast warned that it would not get better. We learned that people often split their time between resort locations and inquired after 3 nights if we could catch the shuttle to Negril the next day with others. We were accomodated. A great choice given the weather there would be perfect. Once again, a bit quiet, but we were warmly greeted by the fun friendly folks of the Naturist Beach Tribe there. You cannot beat the Negril beach. Some Negril staff seemed a bit subdued with some food service and check-in hickups, but given the struggles of The Zombie Apocalypse Plague, you have to cut them some slack. Kudos to the Issa family, management and staff for forging onward, and negotiating the shoals of protocol through all of this. Couples - relaxed, beautiful settings, unpretentious and most of all, accomodating - with fellow vacationers who subscribe to these values. Yes, we are looking forward to our "4th" visit.

We’re towards the end of our 7 nights at Couple Negril – was sad only was about 25% occupancy but liked the quietness. Been to about 8 - 9 other adults only resorts, Iberostar Grand Paraiso, El Dorado Royale, Couples, Sandals, Excellence, etc.. We go to a different resort every year. The buildings were very rustic and you definitely got the Jamaican vibe. A lot of buildings were open to outside and wood with huge overhead beams – was pretty cool Stayed in a beachfront suite – asked for ground floor they gave us top (third floor) – probably due to the view. The bathroom was about 25 ft X 15 ft. The room had several little things needing repair, but it didn’t bother us. I think you could call for some liquor to be left in the room – never did it. The fridge had very basic drinks. I thought the liquor selection was very basic – no bourbon, and for whiskey Jack Daniels and Crown. Not a big deal for us. Pool was nice – lots of floaties. We went in the ocean every day too – never stepped on a rock or even a pebble in the ocean. For us, the food here was consistently the best we had at all the resorts we ever stayed at. We were surprised but every meal we had was super tasty and excellently prepared. They had good COVID protocols in place and the staff followed them – no issues. They had a photographer who floats around – he really gets around. Heard good things about him and some folks scheduled a session with him. Overall, the people who work here were very nice and wanted to know how our stay was going. There were a couple staff who went way out of their way to do something and we really appreciated it and it left a positive impression on us. Would be come back – yes except after our first couple all-inclusive trips, we decided never to go to the same place twice. We’ve been to Swept Away, so at some point will try San Souci and Tower Isle. There were several people here that had been to both and enjoyed them. If you are looking for everything to be just right and perfect – not recommended. If you’re looking for an authentic Jamaican setting, feeling, and vibe, and you want to get away and relax - this is the real deal. Feel free to ping me with any questions and will do my best to answer them.

I believe this was our 7th stay at CN. The one year we opted for Couples Swept Away because of Pool being down and we are Pool Bar couple. The staff, many of whom we knew before did a tremendous job even though the resort was understaffed - we got there Mar 16 (27% occupancy) and by Mar 24th 50%. It would be very difficult to plan based on those figures. First morning, we went to Breakfast buffet (Cassava Terrace) for ala carte, buffet went into operations the next day. We ordered an omlet thinking it would be fast. It took over an hour to get the omlet ( understaffed). We ordered a second glass of orange juice and they had ran out . We said no problem but before we left - they specially got us 2 glasses (Nicquesia was waitress who did great job) We headed to pool and then took walk on the 2.5 mile beach) On return we went to pool bar and our favorite Ivy was serving. She had a new do and really looked great. The drinks were great and that night we ate at Lychee ( Thai soup was very spicy so you may want to beware of it) With the Buffett open the next day we had to wear masks when the servers dished up our pick (no problem with that) The buffet worked well and no outages. Most days we ate lunch at the Heliconia grill. There were no Buffet lunches when there. Little disappointed, we did eat at the Fine Dining Otaheite, very good, tried to get reservations a 2nd time before we left and was told it was booked - yet when we went buy, it was 1/2 full. We ate several times at Heliconia, Italian style. Food was very good - service was weird - some nites no problem, one night 45 minutes to get entree. Ordered Mediterranean soup - 3 times each time different. The last time it was Minestrone. Our waiter did good job but why they don't train the staff to know what they are serving and how it tastes is beyond me. The return dinner was almost pathetic - we had a table of 4 and when everyone was getting the 3rd course, we didn't have our first course until I flagged down the one waitress for our section (Understaffed and GM was at dinner) Food was great. We did Catamaran tour which we really like the boat - instead of shaky rope steps, the boat had a solid stairway which was really nice - especially if you drank too much on way back. Great tour, every geared up at end and were dancing and drinking. I think it was one of best ones we did. Water sports - plenty to do. Snorkeling, Glass Bottom (just wife and I were on boat) and both Sugar and his mate treated us great. Scuba, I heard went very good Can't say enough about the water staff - good people who keep you safe. Vendors on beach - they had several which are there year after year. Prices can be negotiated but considering this past year no one pressed the point. Wood Carving, Jewelry (Beverly?? sold wife something) Paintings - I waited for Paul Thomas and got my second watercolor. We have been in Building 2 - 2nd floor for all our stays. Comfortable but nothing fancy. Balcony good for morning coffee/drinks and just relaxing. Wish they would put note in room so we knew who was the housekeeper. Do very good job just didn't know their names. The Entertainment girls were allot of fun - we did Trivia, Cooking and the auction on Friday. We enjoyed the house band, Donavan, Moses and especially Paul for the sing along. Staying up past 10:30 was hard. Wish they had the Sing Along earlier and from 9-11 vs 10-11 I noted something and others guest said similar. Staff really needs the work so they go overboard to please you. There was a lot of under staffed areas especially with dining. The staff seemed somewhat intimidated and worried they could lose their jobs. We were used to seeing the GM around the grounds but only saw here at Return Dinner. Considering the reopening and more guest, I would have thought she should have been reviewing areas and seeing how SHE COULD HELP THE STAFF and not berate or scare them. I think the GM was the main reason for staffing and training problems which we saw. She needs to be out and about helping the Staff, speaking with the Guest and seeing how she with the staff improve. Will we go back - Hell Yes. It may seem I am knocking CN down but we all understood that the reopening from 27% to 50% in on week isn't normal. We already are looking to go back the 3rd week of Oct 2021.

Couples Negril feels like home. Every staff member we interacted with was warm and welcoming. This was our 4th trip to CN, so naturally we reminisced about our pre-Covid trips, but honestly we were extremely pleased with every aspect of the resort during this trip. The food is phenomenal; always beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. The drinks were almost as fantastic as the bartenders! They are all so personable and attentive. We were very happy to see so many familiar faces, especially in water sports. You will not be disappointed snorkeling and scuba diving. The reefs and aquatic life are breathtaking. We highly recommend booking the private boat cruise at sunset. We have recommended this resort to many family and friends and will continue to do so. Can’t wait to come back!

    Best decision we made!!

We booked another resort for February and cancelled at the last minute. COVID nervous and the reviews were scathing. On a whim, weeks later we looked into Couples Negril and so beyond thrilled we did. The COVID protocols are above board. We stayed 10 nights in a deluxe beach front room (building 1). Perfect proximity to everything, clean, and quiet. We were just a few steps away from the beach, morning coffee, bar, restaurants, entertainment, etc.... Can't say enough about the exceptional staff and service. Food was great!! .... A nice variety for all pallets. Restaurant availability was cut back for obvious reasons but they make it work. Good selection of booze including top shelf. The beach is beautiful and long for walking or jogging. Beautiful pool. This was our 5th time to Jamaica; 3rd time in Negril and 1st time at Couples. CN comes in at top of the list and we've already booked to go back next year. CN is the perfect atmosphere for us. Relax, enjoy the music, eat, drink, and be entertained. We loved the entertainment..... beach bonfire with acoustic guitar/singer Moses, Donovan, the mesmerizing voice of Bunny Rose, the fire show, piano bar and some of the worst karaoke we've ever heard...ha! I mean that in the best way....lots of fun! They try to make it a good combination of relaxation and fun. Keep up the good work CN! Suggestion....bottled water in the mini fridge. We'd like to give a shout-out for their engaging and inviting kindness to (in no particular order)..........Alecia (very articulate server), Keesha, Andrew, Kasheesh (so diligent and attentive) Notoya, Debbie Anne, Alex the lifeguard (such a helpful and welcoming young man), Roberta, Ivylin, Sashell (she plays a mean giant jenga and sings like a bird, so friendly), Kenroy, Stephanie, Tenyson, Jonathan, Theodore and Jason....... And to all others as well, thank you for making our trip the best yet and hope to see you all next year!
