Instead of our annual week long holiday Disneyland trip we decided to do a quick overnight stay to hop over to downtown Disney for some Christmas shopping. We have never stayed off site, and we were pleasantly surprised with the hotel. Very clean. Greattttt views of the park, can only imagine in non-covid times what that nighttime view is with the park lights on and fireworks. Very clean room. I took my Lysol wipes and hit the usual spots, looked around for any sign the room wasn’t clean but it was definitely clean, updated and maintained. I asked for additional blankets before we checked in knowing I am always cold, they were two right on the bed for when we checked in. Later in the evening my husband ran out for food but forgot ketchup..... I used the Marriott app text feature to ask if they sold any ketchup in the marketplace, they said unfortunately no, but they ended up finding some for me and had it delivered to the room. So kind! Was really impressed with the service. The wall to downtown Disney was super simple. Maybe a 5 min walk. Heads up, right now, everything to eat within the area of the hotel is closed. Panera was closed, McDonald’s was closed..... but great location if you need a place walkable to the harbor side entry of Disney.

I believe this is how hotels should operate. Very professional front desk. Property is clean. Rooms are clean. I appreciate that very much. Great area to be in. There’s even staff parroting the parking lot at night.

While not a luxury hotel, it was clean and the staff was excellent. The ability to walk from the parks to the hotel was unmatched. The elevators were a little slow in the morning as people all tried to leave for the park at opening time. There is a Panera in the parking lot for breakfast.

Trip to Disneyland during a unique time...

My sons and I came to Disneyland for a quick Spring Break trip. We planned it a little bit last minute and got a great rate at this hotel. I hadn't stayed here in many years. We arrived early and our room was ready. I really like the setup of the room. The sink is outside of the bathroom and the minifridge and coffee maker are nearby. There is an area to hang clothes and store suitcases next to the sink. There are some small shelves on the wall by the sink, which I loved. I could leave our toiletries there and not have a cluttered counter. This whole area can be closed off by a barn door, so those still sleeping are not disturbed by people getting ready. Our room was a standard 2 queen facing Disneyland. There is a chair that folds out in the room also. We had a view of Space Mountain. You can't see the fireworks from this area. We were in room 404. The room was clean and comfortable. The main issue I had was that I could hear people in the adjoining room talking in the morning. The staff was really wonderful. We were at Disneyland when the decision was made to close the parks due to Coronavirus. We had 2 days at the parks and would have spent a 3rd on the first day of the closure. The hotel management texted me to let me know if I wanted to leave early, there would be no charge. They were very helpful as I tried to navigate the situation. American Airlines was unreachable and then later canceled my flight and rebooked us, necessitating a lot of effort in getting a shuttle and reorganizing our plans. The staff at the hotel assisted me throughout. I know that the staff was facing uncertainty as the resort area turned in to a ghost town overnight. They had to be concerned for their livelihood, but they didn't let on and continued to assist all of us guests whose vacations turned upside down. We were among the last guests at the hotel during this time. When the parks open again, I hope to be able to book my room at Fairfield. The location is great, but the employees really make this a top choice for me.

    Favourite hotel near Disneyland

Fairfield has now become my favourite hotel to stay at when visiting Disneyland. I loved their lovely, firm, supportive beds and huge tv in the room. Having pizza hut on the 3rd floor was very convenient. Fairfield is a very short walk to Disneyland so it was easy to come back for breaks in the day. My room faced the hotel with the water park next door and they had a loud bell that rang constantly till like 10pm so that was a bit annoying but the hotel provided earplugs and I got used to it so it wasn't a huge issue. The staff were all very friendly and always welcomed me when I returned to the hotel which was nice.
