?? I’ve stayed at all the Disney Resorts and each one is special in its own way. The Yacht Club has a nice classy but laid back vibe. Easy walk to Epcot and 4 other Disney Resorts + the Skyliner. ?? Restaurants are good. I love grabbing a cocktail and a bite at the Ale and Compass ... even offers vegetarian options. The Buffalo Cauliflower was delicious.

This is not the Disney experience you are looking for...

Leading up to the visit everything seemed perfect with our Disney bands arriving and our room being assigned the day of arrival. The instructions said head straight to your room.... great reduced interactions in the current environment seemed smart. However that was the end of the positive experience. When reading the rest of the review you have to take in context with the standard/price they position this hotel in. Firstly don’t expect valet... Next skip the front desk, because that will take you 20mins (no line). Yes even though I had a pre-assigned room they take you to the desk. Apparently to find you the best room - ours ended up being 10 min walk from reception / with a not so fabulous view. Next skip the restaurant it’s food is average at best and the decor is very non Disney, especially the tables that all seem to have pen marks over them. Lastly skip the breakfast, we ordered online, got it back to the room to find it was inedible, someone had poured a bag of salt in the eggs. Called the help desk who told me after a 10 min wait that they could not doing anything and I should walk back to the market... Summary: Skip this place, there are many other options that will make you feel like you are at the happiest place on earth.

Words of advice! Traveling during a pandemic is not for the faint at heart. If you are an individual who is struggling with an underlying health condition or not and are nervous my words of advice would be to stay home wait for this to pass do not feel as though you can come to an amusement park that is visited by millions of people and think that you should be given the right to ride a bus alone ride an elevator alone or have people stay 6 feet away from you because it just totally is not realistic. So if you are a person who is freaked out by a pandemic do not visit an amusement park! What I liked about the Yacht Club Spacious and nicely decorated room Coffee bar with Keurig coffee maker Refrigerator Spacious bathroom with two sinks & separate shower/toilet area Smaller than normal Disney resorts which makes it very quiet Within 10 minutes walk to Epcot & the Skyliner which takes you to other resorts & transfer to Hollywood studios Beautiful grounds within walking distance to Beach club and Boardwalk resort Pool area and an additional quiet pool Mobile ordering is amazing if you cannot get a reservation for a restaurant at your resort. We never had any issues placing an order and it’s quickly done and you go pick it up Covid inconveniences at resorts & parks Wearing masks outdoors even when people are not around No firework shows no large parades some restaurants and shops are closed within each park People who are freaked out about the virus yet come to an amusement park and then are upset that you want to ride an elevator with them Even though they allow for adults to an elevator people who are nervous and won’t allow you in the elevator with them! Most of the queues to the rides are held outside if possible I wouldn’t say that’s an inconvenience but if it’s hot or it starts to rain it could pose some issues. They only allow a certain amount of people into shop so you might be waiting in line to get into a gift shop

Stayed 4 nights at The Yacht Club and location was everything. Why? 5 minute walk to EPCOT and 15-20 walk to Hollywood Studies (we did not walk to HS). We arrived a few hours prior to our check in time and I asked how long before our room would be available. The kind cast members worked it out and was able to adjust some things and found a room for us. We originally had a 2 queen room and were given a king room with pull out sofa bed. Thanks! The resort had plenty of sanitizer stands throughout the resort. PROS- WOW! Lobby was huge, cast members were exceptionally friendly (they work hard for us during this COVID time so make sure to speak with them when given a chance), garden view room was above average in size with no carpet, large stand up shower (no tub), ok view (tennis courts and smaller pool) from large balcony, close to EPCOT and the Skyliner, and many great property views. CONS- walls are thin in rooms. We had a room that connected with someone else who had at least one loud child (3-4 yrs old) who screamed every night for about an hour complaining about being scared; and this was after 10pm when then returned to the room. Only other CON would be that 1-2 times after adjusting the thermostat from 69 to 70 degrees, the heat kicked on. I just shut the unit off and restated it and all was fine. Hallways to room was a distance to walk to, but not really complaining, and the parking lot, in my opinion, is too far from the main entrance. The main entrance is mostly for valet only. We had to park 1 night by the convention center entrance which was too far to walk back to the main resort entrance for the price you pay to stay at the resort. If you want to take the Skyliner over to Hollywood Studios (as we did) be prepared to go to the back of the long, long, line at the connection station to get back on the Skyliner to actually go to HS. While the line moves fast, it still took over 40 minutes of waiting when we could have walked to HS from the resort in less time. TIP-- we were granted a room on the second floor which at most hotels and resorts I HATE due to noise from the floor above you. This was never an issue (from above that is) and was perfect for not having to wait on elevators with the small crowds because the lobby also had a small staircase, with just a few steps, that took you up to the 2nd floor. We never used the elevator. Also, if you drive, when parking, follow the signs to "additional parking" which is near the bus stop and valet parking. We were able to find a spot behind the chains (in front of the chains is the valet parking lot) which is just a tiny walk to the entrance of the resort. Love the resort and will stay again

A lot has changed, the magic is sadly not there anymore

We love the Yacht club, have stayed multiple times but during Covid, unfortunately a lot has changed. We had another short trip to Disney booked for November but I just canceled it. Here's the low down: No boat service at all-walk to HS or take Skyliner but liner take a lot longer Hurricane Hannahs at poolside is not open -well, it serves cold sandwiches through the bar If the pool hits their new capacity level, you will be denied entry Mousekeeping is barely happening-enjoy your wet towels, full trash, no vaccuming or enough toiletries, For 400$ plus a night, I expect a lot more. I want dry towels every day because a lot of times you end up showering twice if you do parks and pool. Food wise, we ate at market place in both resorts and enjoyed sit down meals with no reservation at the lounge called Martha's Vineyard at Beach club-highly recommend. You can do takeout from there as well. Disney parks: no extra magic hours, shortened hours, no fast passes which equals crazy long lines all day long. Cast members constantly policing you about your mask. No eating/drinking while walking. Stand on this dot, stand on this line, don't go here, don't go there. Partitions everywhere, it's claustrophobic in the lines inside the rides. THE MAGIC IS GONE We knew things would be different but we love Disney and needed a get away so we went. Of course we still had some fun but they have done everything possible to take the magic away. Silly, arbitrary rules and all for the full price!! They even make the lifeguards wear masks! It's nuts. So much is missing. It's really sad. We will not be going back until this is all over. Sniff Sniff
