    Great all inclusive

    We spent a week at the Iberostar Punta Mita. The resort was very clean and the staff were wonderful. The entertainment team were encouraging without being annoying. Jiovani, Marcelo and Marco (sorry If I spelled names incorrectly) did an particularly good job. The food was good, the beach was lovely, the pools had various depth which made it very children friendly (we did not have children with us) We would definitely return to this resort but would stay longer next time!!

    Amazing resort with even better staff

    This was my first time in Mexico and this resort exceeded our expectations. Good: -Free upgrade to a ocean view room -Entertainment staff were so fun and happy and always had things to do -Many different food options (we tired all the restaurants but the Mexican) the buffet had something for everyone. The French restaurant was super good and had many different options. The steak house was alright but it wasn't with all the other restaurants and the Japanese restaurant was a great experience and great food. - Shows every night were always different and super cool - New Years celebration was a lot of fun with the dancers and the entertainment staff all having fun as well -Rooms were cleaned daily with fun surprises in our room (one day cookies and chocolate and other days towel animals) - Great views from the room - Short walk to the beach -Many different beverage options both alcoholic and not Bad: -Pool was freezing -Elevator smelled horrible - Bed were always damp from humidity (Not their fault though) -Far walk from our room to pool, lobby, theatre, and restaurants

    This was our first visit as a family To Iberostar play mita. Our family LOVES it! Rebecca our concierge, is like none other, she has catered to our family, our kids look forward to seeing her every morning. She has made many suggestions for us to do as a family, taken us on little tours and has gone above and beyond to make our stay a memorable one. The kids club, we can’t peel our kids away from it! The kids love Jonny! We felt guilty at first, but to us.. if the kids enjoy the club this much , we won’t complain! Marco, also has gone above and beyond Getting to know everyone, getting you involved in activities by the pool and friendly Conversation.. etc! The food here is great also, we havent found it repetitive, they take great pride in the display of their food and presentation! If you stay here, you won’t be disappointed! Also, the fact you aren’t constantly Carrying around plastic bottles or looking for drinking water is amazing ! The vero system is amazing! 5 stars from our family for sure! We will be back!

    10th Trip Just Keeps Getting Better

    I just finished my 10th vacation here and I cannot say enough good things about the management and staff. The GM and his two Assistant GM's are highly visible each day around the resort. A big shout out to the Star Friends including but not limited to Alex, Chris, Marco, Marcello. I know all of them personally and enjoy the activities and events they put on. The Star Band performs several times a week at the pool just before lunch and they are fantastic. The resort was at and above 90% occupancy during my entire two weeks stay and there were always plenty of loungers around the pool all day long. Pool drink service is impeccable. Nacho at the Towel Hut is on old friend and a hoot to talk with. He always has an interesting story to tell. They have completed and air conditioning and openable windows at the pool grill and is this a relief. In past trips it would get insufferable hot for lunch and I ate lunch at the main buffet most days. Now you can eat at the pool grill in air-conditioned comfort. There are different themed buffets each night and all are very good. Plenty of choices and all are tasty. Hot foods are HOT and cold foods are COLD. Breakfast is a veritable cornucopia of choices. The Prosciutto Ham is not to be missed. The Japanese ala carte has changed its process. Now they do not ask what you want for an entree the Chef just cooks Beef/Chicken/Shrimp and serves each guest what they want. Also, they no longer have octopus as it was rarely ordered. The quality of the sushi is much improved this trip. The staff are all very friendly and helpful and have earned my deep and abiding respect and friendship. No matter what a person does they will talk with you and genuinely appreciate your respect and attention. On my first night about $100USD slipped out of my pocket and I did not notice it. The lady in the Cigar Bar knew who I was from previous and visits and turned the money in to Hanz at the front desk who got it back to me. I profusely thanked her for her honesty and integrity. Frankly I probably would not have noticed the loss. The only negative aspect and it did not occur to me. Friends who had upgraded to Star Prestige were very displeased with the service at the Star Prestige deck. Champagne was in chronically short supply and many times was warm and not ice cold. Also, they frequently ran out and had to go get more. The Hot Tubs were not hot but barely lukewarm if that. Also drink service was spotty at best. The Star Prestige deck was very crowded. Many of Iberostar The Club members were VERY UNHAPPY at the crowds at the SP deck area and complained about the decline in service from previous trips. In order to accommodate IB* The Club members I can see the resort curtailing Star Prestige in that they limit how many can upgrade based upon how many Club guests are in residence. The nightly shows are NOT TO BE MISSED. Here is a change, they now start at 9pm and not 930pm so be aware. Alex, and Chris are the nightly emcees. Armando has built a fantastic cadre of performers and musicians. All the music is performed LIVE and the singers are NOT LIP SYNCHING. I enjoyed all the shows and highly recommend you experience each one. The shows quality is improving with each visit. Several years ago, IB* got rid of straws. Good for them. A week after I left, they completed the installation of the VERO Water System. Now they use refillable glass bottles and stopped using single use plastic bottles. While ecologically a good idea I am not so sure about the advisability of glass bottles around the pool deck. Time will tell. A special mention goes to several folks. Hanz and Derek Trejo are brothers and make a guest stay very special. I cannot praise them enough. To Charly and his wife Sonia. Charly was a Star Friend but moved to the Front Desk and is a dear friend. His wife Sonia is a concierge and a lovely and friendly lady. Candy was the concierge in my building and another old and dear friend.

    We loved our time spent at Iberostar Selection Playa Mita!! We usually stay at RUI and decided to try a new resort and am so glad we did! Alejandro was super helpful with our dinner reservations and Jovani was awesome with our pool side entertainment! We will certainly be coming back!
